Chapter 761: Repulsion and Refining the Blood Spirit Embryo
"Brother Mo Yu, let's move! One each!" Mang Yu flashed her sharp little tiger teeth in a grin, eyes glimmering with excitement.
"Fine, but be careful," Mo Yu replied, slightly surprised but nodding. He knew that Mang Yu possessed the Seven-Colored Swallowing Python bloodline—though not as advanced as Cai Lin's Nine-Colored bloodline, her strength was still far from ordinary.
"Got it!" Mang Yu laughed sweetly, her figure flashing forward amid a ripple of silver laughter as she darted toward the massive meteor.
Mo Yu's silhouette flickered a few times and appeared in an instant above the same colossal meteor.
"Get lost! The Blood Spirit Mud here isn't something a weakling like you can touch!"
A flash of lightning appeared ahead, revealing a Thunder Serpent warrior radiating ominous power. Hovering above, he glared down coldly at Mo Yu, his tone oozing contempt.
However, Mo Yu merely smiled faintly. Then, as he exhaled, his roar turned into the echoing cry of a great ape.
A wave of dazzling black light burst from his body, and from his chest manifested the shadow of a towering ape—majestic, destructive, and filled with primal might.
"The Force Ape?!"
The Thunder Serpent expert stiffened, his face flashing with confusion. This aura was nothing like that of the Celestial Swallowing Python Clan. What was a being with the blood of the Force Ape doing among their rivals?
His surprise was brief. "No matter who you are, once you die here, no one will mourn you."
Black lightning flared violently in his hands. With a sneer, he swung forward, and the crackling bolts of lightning twisted into the form of serpents that lunged with vicious speed and explosive fury.
Among beast-blooded warriors, the Thunder Serpents were known for their ruthlessness. He meant to kill in a single blow.
Yet Mo Yu remained calm, his lips curling into a chilling smile. His fists clenched tightly, and he met the assault head-on with a single punch.
A simple motion—but it carried the weight of a thunderous world. Black energy roared from his arm as the shadow of the Force Ape merged with his fist, forming an obsidian seal that tore through space and collided with the lightning serpents.
This was a punch unleashed with his physical might refined to its peak, enhanced by all the Blood Spirit Mud he'd recently absorbed. The force of it thundered through the void.
Boom!
A violent explosion erupted, shockwaves distorting the very air.
The Thunder Serpent warrior's pupils shrank in horror. The power of that strike pressed upon him like a mountain, flooding his senses with dread.
How could this human—this so-called ally of the Swallowing Pythons—wield such monstrous strength?!
Mo Yu moved like lightning, his punch shattering the lightning serpents into fragments. The unleashed impact torn apart the very fabric of space, slamming down directly upon his opponent.
"Impossible—!"
The Thunder Serpent warrior roared and hastily gathered every ounce of his strength to counter.
Boom!
The collision resounded through the void. But within the swirling chaos, Mo Yu's strength crushed everything in its path. The shadow of the Force Ape roared as its power detonated—obliterating the serpent's defense entirely.
Before the man could even react, the black fist slammed into his chest.
Pfft!
Blood sprayed across the air. The Thunder Serpent warrior was sent hurtling backward, crashing across the floating stones. He looked down at the gaping wound carved through his torso, pale with shock.
His divine beast body… was weaker than this man's!
On the other side, Mang Yu's battle ended just as swiftly. Though younger, her seven-colored aura blazed brilliantly. Her opponent barely lasted a few exchanges before being overwhelmed; under the crushing power of the Seven-Colored Swallowing Python, the Thunder Serpent fell in defeat.
Seeing both their warriors forced to retreat in disgrace, the remaining Thunder Serpent elites realized too late the depth of their error.
They had gravely underestimated their foes.
"You… Celestial Swallowing Pythons certainly have some tricks," the black-robed leader growled, his teeth grinding in fury.
Cai Lin and Mang Lie ignored him entirely. Their battle only grew more ferocious, Cai Lin's Nine-Colored energy blazing around her like a storm of fire and lightning. Within moments, the Thunder Serpent leader found himself being pushed back, his defense cracking under her relentless assault.
Mo Yu exhaled with relief. His job was done. With a blink, he landed beside Mang Yu atop the colossal meteor.
Now that they were close, the two could clearly feel the overwhelming blood energy radiating from the rock itself—so dense it turned the entire surface into a crimson glow.
"This blood aura…" Mo Yu murmured, his brows arching. "It's stronger than any we've found so far."
Mang Yu's eyes sparkled. "I can't even imagine how powerful the Blood Spirit Mud inside must be!"
"Let's find out," Mo Yu said with a small grin.
He stomped his foot down hard.
A deafening crack resounded through the void as fissures spread from his feet across the meteor's surface like a spiderweb, shaking violently beneath his power. Crimson light burst upward, filling the space around them with radiant blood energy.
The rock began to crumble. From deep within, surging bloodlight poured forth in a furious blaze.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
With a thunderous roar, the meteor ruptured, releasing torrents of molten red aura that boiled outward like magma. Among that eruption of power, Mo Yu caught sight of something emerging—a glowing sphere, blood-colored and heavy with energy, attempting to dart away into the void.
"Trying to run?" Mo Yu laughed, lifting a hand.
A strand of energy shot out, wrapping around the sphere and dragging it back into his palm. The bloodlight flickered, finally revealing what lay within—a translucent, egg-like sphere, pulsing with vitality.
Inside, faint shapes twisted—a strangely formed embryo, bearing features of many beasts, yet belonging to none.
Mang Yu gasped, eyes lighting up. "A Blood Spirit Embryo! When Blood Spirit Mud absorbs enough energy, it gains rudimentary consciousness. Though it can't evolve intelligence, given millennia, it could've become a true beast."
Mo Yu nodded. It reminded him of certain divine materials that, with time and energy, developed sentience of their own.
"This one's worth hundreds of ordinary Blood Spirit clots," Mang Yu added brightly. "If we sold it in the Great Thousand World, it would fetch at least five or six million drops of Supreme Spirit Liquid!"
Mo Yu smiled faintly at her awe. To his true self, that sum wasn't much—but he understood that this treasure's true worth lay in its ability to strengthen the body beyond compare.
"Fortune favors us," he said lightly, storing the glowing embryo away as the massive meteor began to crumble beneath them.
"Let's go."
They leapt back to their original stone mount as debris scattered into dust.
Seeing them unharmed—and holding the blazing prize—the black-robed Thunder Serpent leader's face twisted. Unable to withstand Cai Lin's assault any longer, he retreated abruptly, glaring murderously toward Mo Yu and Mang Yu.
"You've made enemies of the Thunder Serpent Clan today," he snarled. "But this isn't over! Once we reach the Divine Beast Origin, we'll settle this!"
"Leave now, before I change my mind," Cai Lin said coldly, her voice cutting like a blade.
Her aura flared once more, and the serpents faltered visibly, fear flickering in their eyes. Without another word, the leader turned away, retreating with his battered comrades into the distance.
Mo Yu chuckled and gave Cai Lin a playful thumbs-up. "As expected of my queen—majestic as ever."
Cai Lin's frosty expression softened, a faint smile curling her lips. Mang Yu laughed teasingly. "Alright, enough of you two flirting! Let's see what we've gained!"
Mo Yu reached into his spatial ring and drew out the Blood Spirit Embryo. Immediately, the air rippled as waves of bloodlight surged through the void, painting their faces crimson.
"Is that really a Blood Spirit Embryo?!" Mang Lie's usually cold composure cracked in stunned astonishment.
They hadn't even reached the true Divine Beast Origin yet, and already they'd acquired something so rare. Their luck bordered on miraculous.
"How do we divide it?" Mo Yu asked calmly. His status as an outsider made him hesitant to decide unilaterally.
Mang Lie and Mang Yu exchanged a glance, then turned toward Cai Lin—the natural leader among them.
After a thoughtful pause, Cai Lin said, "It can't be evenly split. We'll refine it together. Whoever gains the most through their cultivation—that's their fortune."
Everyone agreed. It was fair enough.
Mang Lie added, "We have at least half a day before we pass through this meteor belt. Let's make use of the time. Inside the Divine Beast Origin, countless prodigies will be competing. The stronger we are, the better our chances."
Mo Yu nodded, and all four settled cross-legged atop the meteor, surrounding the glowing embryo.
"Let's begin," Cai Lin said.
She formed seals with her hands, channeling spiritual power that enveloped the Blood Spirit Embryo. Immediately, streams of crimson mist rose from it, flowing into her slightly parted lips like liquid fire.
The remaining three followed suit, surrounding the hovering embryo as their energies intertwined. Scarlet fog seeped from the glowing sphere, pouring into each of them.
In that endless stretch of void, the Blood Spirit Embryo pulsed steadily like a living heart, its essence flowing into the four cultivators as the refining process began.
