Izumi POV.
"We are-"
"Get out of here!!" I shouted urgently to all the heroes. They all looked at me, confused, but didn't move. I just gritted my teeth. Without hesitation, I lunged at Mirko. My shadows consumed her. Then I lunged at the civilians she had saved and pulled them into my shadows as well. Finally, I turned toward the heroes. They looked confused as my shadows exploded beneath them and sank as if they were falling into water.
Finally I jumped out and intercepted Ryukyu; my shadows enveloped her and tried to absorb her.
"Return to your normal form!" I yelled at Ryukyu through gritted teeth. I already had over 500 people trapped inside my damn shadows. Chisaki had unfused all the monsters and released the civilians, so the only ones not trapped were those who had escaped. I didn't need a damn dragon!
The weight was dozens of tons, I growled loudly as I dug my swords into the wall to avoid sinking and falling to the ground. I let my shadows cover my body and several eyes appeared all around.
"Izumi! What's going on?!" Aizawa asked from my chest, and I clicked my tongue.
"That damn Chisaki has gone crazy!" I yelled, turning my body with some effort, plunging a second sword into the wall and turning around, my body facing down, right towards the portal, all eyes were also looking in that direction.
At that moment, the completely mutated creature began to emerge from the portal, a colossal beast; its head seemed to be the size of a house, occupying half the space of the room it was in.
"What the hell is that!" Jinx shouted in disbelief.
"That idiot Chisaki! She fused with all the monsters! " I yelled through gritted teeth. "Eraser!" I shouted at the professor.
"That's it!" he shouted. I could feel him activate his quirk. The monster shuddered slightly, but continued to emerge from the portal in fury. "My quirk doesn't work on monsters that are already fused!" Aizawa said through gritted teeth. "She's become monster enough that my quirk won't stop her, especially since I can't undo the things her quirk reformed." Aizawa added immediately.
"Can't you push it back into the portal?!" Mirko asked, trying to emerge from the shadows.
"If the portal were horizontal, maybe! I could use gravity to my advantage, but with the portal being vertical, it's impossible! Besides, I have a huge problem with having 500 people inside me! I can't move quickly like this! " I yelled, the monster's head now fully emerged.
"Go up, get us out of here," Sir Nighteye said solemnly. I gritted my teeth, planted my feet against the wall, gripped my swords tightly, and began leaping from wall to wall. My blades sliced through the walls I passed, enough to shatter them and send them crashing down on top of the monster that was Chisaki.
I continued climbing until I finally reached the surface and moved several meters away before unleashing the heroes within me.
"Everyone! Back off! S-rank or higher monster about to surface! Call the Draw Sword Guild, have them send their S-Rank hunters immediately! " Sir Nigheye shouted without hesitation.
At that moment, a roar echoed from beneath us, making us tremble to our bones. I could feel the monster forcing its way through the rubble.
"Get back!" I yelled at everyone. To my surprise, no one even hesitated. I stepped back several meters and began letting the kidnapped people out of my shadows. When I finally let the last one out and felt much lighter, Chisaki emerged from the hole.
Its enormous head broke through the ground, its claws dug into the surface before its wings even touched the ground, its wings began to flap slowly, but with enough force to lift it into the sky as it roared.
"GIVE ME BACK ERI!!" roared the human part of the monster, her voice completely distorted.
"Get everyone to safety! Get away from the monster!" I told the heroes. I let the full force of my summons, especially the Nue, settle into my body. Ignoring the new parts of my body, I focused on the wings that sprouted from my back and flapped powerfully. I shot towards the monster. My swords were enveloped in Haki, lightning, and fire. Rengoku Oni Giri.
My blades struck Chisaki's skin and sank into her flesh. It was thick, it was tough, it was difficult; I managed to pierce her body with difficulty, but my Armament Haki didn't travel more than a few centimeters further than my blades. For a body nearly a hundred meters long, with a torso thirty meters thick, the cuts from my blades were barely a superficial wound.
I gritted my teeth, began to fly and attack Chisaki as I moved, God of Fire Thunder, I spun at terrifying speed around Chisaki cutting all her skin, blood came out of the wounds, but none were deep enough to hurt her.
Ignore its wings, I couldn't cut them off, I couldn't let it fall to the ground yet and create a disaster there, there were civilians being evacuated.
"Izumi!" I heard two shouts behind me. I saw Mirko and Midoriya approaching at high speed, but it wouldn't be enough; we were much higher than either of them could reach. I launched myself toward them, appearing between them. I grabbed Mai with my left hand, and with my now free hand, I grabbed Izuku's arm and began spinning in the air several times, gaining speed with each spin, Izuku clinging to my arm.
I finally stopped spinning and whipped Izuku towards Chisaki. Then I spun around and saw Mirko in position, crouching in mid-air. I spun around and reinforced my leg with Haki. I used my leg to slam into her feet, and at the same time, all of Mirko's muscles tensed like springs. She used my leg as a springboard and was launched forward, even faster than Izuku.
They both arrived at the same time, Mirko spun in the air with her legs reinforced in haki and forcefully struck the side of the monster's jaw/head with her leg, Midoriya, on the other hand, buried her foot in the monster's torso.
Both blows made the monster scream as it shook violently. I spun around in the air once more and returned Mai to my right hand once more. At that moment, I saw Tanya and Visha fly past me, each heading towards Mirko and Izuku and catching them in mid-air.
The monster that was Chisaki shook itself and roared into the air. Two bullets sliced through the air and mercilessly struck the human part of Chisaki, one directly in the head and the other in the chest. Both hit hard, but failed to penetrate the monster's aura and thick skin, though they wounded it enough to make it roar once more.
"Any ideas?!" Mirko shouted, clinging to Visha and staring at the monster.
"We need to undo her transformation!" Tanya shouted with a grimace. I snorted.
"Good luck! It's impossible, only Chisaki can do it, or Eri could too! " I yelled. Everyone tensed up, but they didn't immediately dismiss it. I clicked my tongue, and I wasn't dismissing it either, not with this level of threat.
If Eri were able to finish this quickly, I would actually ask her to, but Eri shouldn't even know how to activate her quirk and facing such a tremendous monster wasn't something I would force her to do.
"Is she... capable of using her original quirk? Of using Overhaul? " Izuku asked while looking at the monster. I immediately turned my head and fully scanned the monster in the air, which was writhing in pain.
"I... she doesn't have hands?" I said incredulously aloud. "Those... they're legs, monster legs, all of them. I... I have no idea if she can use them," I said without hesitation.
"Tch, that doesn't help." Mirko grumbled, and Izuku shook his head.
"Hell. If she can't use it, it means we have to wear her down until she can't fight anymore." Izuku said without hesitation. I pursed my lips. Seriously? Just now, Chisaki lost her hands?! When she was a monster over 100 meters tall, capable of destroying the city. How could we even return her to her normal form if even Chisaki couldn't do it anymore?
I clicked my tongue and was about to speak when Chisaki roared.
Chisaki finally recovered from her stupor and roared loudly, her enormous mouth beginning to recharge a ball of energy as if she were about to fire a laser beam, but instead, she raised her jaw and pointed it at the sky.
A huge, thick laser shot out of her mouth before splitting into thousands of tiny lasers and curving downwards like a deadly rain; she gritted her teeth as she thought quickly.
"Damn it!" Mirko shouted while cursing and watching helplessly as the rain fell rapidly down, where there were still hundreds of people.
"I'm sorry, Eri!" I yelled to my shadows as Rabbit escaped from within them. I grabbed him and threw him above us with all my might. "MERGED BEAST: AGITO! SECOND VERSION!" I screamed as I channeled all the powers of the other shikigami within me into my Rabbit. I lost my wings and began bouncing through the air.
Rabbit Escape grew rapidly and gained a humanoid appearance, long and muscular, still covered in white fur, but he had a wild look on his face; he was still mostly a rabbit, but slightly distorted, closer to a wolf.
Or at least the upper part, from the waist down, was the body of an ox, muscular, but much thinner, closer to the figure of a horse than that of an ox.
From its back sprouted two enormous, powerful wings that began to beat fiercely as it lifted Agito into the sky. The new version of Agito exploded and began to multiply; in a fraction of a second, there were hundreds of thousands of them. They all covered the sky without hesitation and flew to gather in every ray of sunlight that fell.
Each group of Agito was struck and instantly killed when the beam exploded in a cloud of ice, as if frozen solid and then immediately disintegrating. Even so, all the Agito were hit by the laser barrage. The sky was covered with Agitos, so I couldn't see above them.
But every time lightning struck, the resulting explosion was visibly visible from below, both because of the enormous blast and the void it left. More and more clones filled the gaps that appeared when they died, and hundreds and hundreds of explosions rained down on the clones, killing thousands as quickly as they regenerated.
Finally, the explosions stopped, and countless Agitos hurtled toward Chisaki in mid-air. Chisaki screamed in fury, and a shower of icicles erupted from her mouth, instantly piercing each clone and dissolving them into shadows. Even so, the clones did not hesitate and continued their attack.
I almost stared at it in disbelief. A freaking winged centaur?! After the werewolf minotaur that was the first version, I get a winged rabbit centaur?! I really had to see the damn fusions I could create before using them in battle so I wouldn't be surprised. I gritted my teeth and turned to look at the others, who were also staring in disbelief.
"Mirko! Deku! Use Agito's clones as a platform! I need a few seconds! " I yelled to both of them to snap them out of their surprise. They both looked at me and their expressions hardened. Mirko smiled wildly.
"Ha! Take all the time you need! " Mirko said, laughing wildly. She broke free from Visha's grip and landed on one of the clones. She stood on top of Agito and began jumping from clone to clone. Izuku did the same. Tanya and Visha exchanged a glance before nodding.
"We'll go too," Tanya said without hesitation. I just nodded. They both took off quickly and headed toward the monsters. I took a deep breath.
"What's the plan?" Mai asked, her voice trembling slightly.
"Soul resonance, I need the boost to be able to use my Chimera Shadow Garden. I can't strike deep enough to stop it, I need more power." I said without hesitation.
"What?! You want to try it now?! We haven't been able to resonate even once!" Mai shouted, and I burst out laughing.
"Well, it's always good to have a memorable first time, right?!" I shouted at Mai with a wild, defiant smile.
"You're a fucking lunatic!" Mai yelled, but I still felt her grit her teeth and brace herself. I took a deep breath and pushed my soul toward her; Mai caught it immediately. We had practiced this many times, we had been close, infinitely close, but we were missing that final push.
I could feel my soul synchronizing with hers, as both began to grow at the same pace, expanding, resonating with each other. At the last instant, Mai took a fraction of a second, and the resonance immediately destabilized.
"Fuck! Fuck!" Fuck! Damn it! " Mai shouted in frustration, almost on the verge of tears.
"Mai. Calm down." I told her immediately.
"I'm trying, damn it! I'm trying! " Mai shouted, almost panicking.
"Mai, return to your normal form," I ordered. Mai froze; I could feel a wave of panic and horror settling in.
"C-can I try again, I need-"
"Come back." I ordered. Mai hesitated for a fraction of a second before transforming back. She appeared biting her lip hard, tears welling in her eyes. I didn't hesitate to drop my swords and let my shadows absorb them. I grabbed Mai without hesitation and pulled her towards me.
I stopped jumping as a clone of Agito appeared beneath us. We stood on its back and remained upright. Without hesitation, I pressed my body against Mai's, grabbed her hands, and intertwined my fingers with hers before resting my forehead against hers.
"Breathe, Mai," I instructed calmly. Mai breathed shakily, but she did as I said. She breathed shakily as she closed her eyes. I gave her a few seconds before coordinating my breathing with hers. "One more time," I told Mai. Mai trembled slightly, but nodded with determination.
I let my aura spill into Mai. Mai grabbed it and immediately returned it along with hers. We continued back and forth. Our auras synchronized again as they began to resonate louder and louder.
We finally reached the same point as before. This time, Mai kept up, and we continued. Then I could finally feel something give way. Our auras grew once more as they merged into one.
I shuddered when I felt Mai completely, her soul practically fused with mine. This… was incredibly intimate, but it felt good. I looked at Mai, who opened her eyes in shock.
"We did it." Mai sighed breathlessly before smiling broadly. I just smiled back.
"We did it," I said softly. "But we don't have time to celebrate." I said as I glanced once more at Chisaki, who was being harassed by Mirko, Izuku, Tanya, Visha, the clones, and Lady Nagant and Sinon's gunfire.
But they were barely hurting Chisaki; the beast roared as it flew around them, easily tearing apart the clones, shooting lightning bolts from its mouth and razor-sharp icicles like gusts of wind.
"Let's do it." Mai said without hesitation before transforming back into her sword form. I just smiled wildly, flexed my legs before shooting off towards Chisaki.
"Sorry for the delay!" I told them with a wild smile.
"Please tell me you have something!" Izuku shouted through gritted teeth. I could see his arms and legs trembling slightly from the effort he was making to keep up with the monster.
"Who knows! We'll find out soon enough!" I said as I started to laugh. I saw Chisaki preparing to attack once more. I dodged the attack by dropping to the ground before hitting the air hard, pinning Mai to the bottom of the monster and clinging to her. "Chimera Shadow Garden!"I shouted loudly before shadows began to spill from my body.
Alright, let's do this. I smiled broadly as I drew my swords again and enveloped them in shadows.
