Chapter 260 - Izumi Miyamura: Xover - Chapter 253

Author's Notes: Chapter edited and corrected by Vongrak.

Ruby POV

Today, in the amazing and heroic adventures of Crimson Reaper, aka Ruby Rose, sidekick in the famous Idaten Group, who has formed the subgroup within Idaten known as the Three Rookies, made up of Tanya Iida and her close friend, Penny Peolindina, led by the famous hero and leader of Idaten, Ingenium, they begin as always, diligently patrolling the city.

Our beloved heroine has been assigned the honorable duty of patrolling the busy streets of Naruhata, Tokyo, along with her group.

"Help!!" The cry for help from a passerby was heard by the keen ears of our beloved heroine.

"Ingenium!" exclaimed our heroine with excitement, the older hero nodded.

"Go." Ingenium said with extreme confidence in our heroine's group. The three young heroines looked at each other and nodded before starting to move in the direction of the cry for help.

The first to arrive was our beloved heroine. The crime scene was as gruesome as expected. A villain had attacked a young man, who was bound with what appeared to be some kind of sticky green liquid, and the villainess was fleeing at top speed through the streets of Naruhata with the man's belongings.

Our heroine moved and appeared in front of the villain.

"Stop right there, Villain!" exclaimed our heroine as she landed and she immediately ducked, her knees touching the ground, and then extended both arms downwards forming an inverted V.

"Cease all movement and surrender please!" exclaimed her beloved partner Penny as she landed behind our heroine, she leaned forward and opened both arms horizontally.

"We are the Idaten group, and you are under arrest for your misdeeds!" said the last member of the amazing group, she appeared behind Penny and me and extended both arms upwards, forming a V.

The villain, standing before the group of our beloved heroines, stared, completely confused and frightened by the astonishing entrance of our protagonists.

"Penny! You're one step to the left!" exclaimed Tenya. I turned my head to look at Penny; actually, she was one step to the right, making us not aligned.

"I'm sorry, Tenya! It's hard to tell where Crimson will appear from its petals." Penny apologized as she moved to the side, but still maintained her position, leaning forward with her arms outstretched. I gasped.

"I'm sorry, Penny! I got carried away in the moment and forgot!" I said, almost horrified and apologetic.

"Don't worry, that just means we have to train even harder," Tenya said confidently, clenching her fist with determination. Penny and I nodded firmly.

"Nice pose." Ingenium said as he approached, trying not to laugh, his shoulders trembling slightly.

"Thank you, brother!" Tenya said with a satisfied smile as she lifted her chin. "As you mentioned, presentations and teamwork are essential, and nothing highlights both more than a group pose!" Tenya said excitedly. Ingenium laughed happily, and Penny and I nodded enthusiastically.

"I see, it was really effective, they certainly made a good impression," Ingenium said amusedly. "Have you prepared more poses?" Ingenium asked, genuinely curious. The three of us looked at each other and nodded.

"Pose 7!" Ingenium said, and my body moved on its own. I saw Penny move immediately; she stood firm, opened her legs slightly, tilted her torso, and then extended both arms, flexing her right arm upward and then flexing her left arm downward, and she remained rigid.

I crouched to her right, my right leg bent while my left leg extended behind Penny, then I extended my hands, my right hand rising upwards and my left hand horizontally passing between Penny's legs.

Finally, Tenya positioned herself on the left; she was the tallest of us and needed that height. She stood with her legs slightly apart, one of her feet behind my outstretched left leg and the other in front. Then she extended her right arm over Penny's head, almost touching my hand, and her left arm extended behind her.

The three of us looked at Ingenium with complete satisfaction; for some reason, Ingenium let out a laugh while clutching his stomach, I just smiled broadly.

"D-Do you have another one?" Ingenium pleaded through tears.

"Pose 12!" Tenya shouted, and my body moved once more.

This time, Tenya imitated the same position I did in the first group pose, she crouched down, with one knee on the ground and the other bent and both arms extended downwards like an inverted V.

Penny positioned herself to the right and behind Tenya, turned around so her back was to Ingenium, then extended her right hand slightly upwards and flexed her left hand upwards, then turned her head to look at Ingenium while tilting her body slightly.

I positioned myself to Tenya's left from behind, extended both hands horizontally, and then lifted my left leg and kept it bent against my chest while balancing and supporting myself only with my right foot.

Ingenium looked at us before bursting into a huge laugh, clutching her stomach as she tried to catch her breath between giggles. The three of us just smiled as we broke our poses.

"Oh goddess, you're incredible!" Ingenium exclaimed after letting out another laugh and wiping away the tears that had begun to stream down his face, beaming with amusement. "I love them, you have to show me the rest!" he said with a huge grin.

"""Thank you!""" we all said with broad smiles.

"You're welcome. Maybe I should make everyone in Idaten do their own group poses." Ingenium laughed playfully before shaking his head. "And by the way, your villain is getting away." He added playfully, pointing in one direction. The three of us gasped as we turned around, and yes, we saw the villain running in the opposite direction while we were talking. How rude!

The three of us moved at the same time, once again, I was the first to arrive, I appeared next to the villain, I grabbed Crescent Rose, I planted the blade lightly in the ground keeping it firm and used it as support to turn my whole body and then I kicked the villain from the front, gently enough just to take her breath away and not to hurt her.

After all, I was a heroine! And I couldn't go around hurting people, whether they were villains or not! And I had been 'strongly advised' not to use my lovely scythe against people without an aura.

The villain stopped her run as she was thrown backwards, she tried to use her quirk, a green viscous substance that began to emerge from the palms of her hands, but Tenya was waiting for it, he grabbed her wrist and deflected her palm, then spun it over her body and threw it to the ground, the villain let out a breathless gasp as Tenya immobilized her and then twisted her hands to place them behind her back.

"You are under arrest for illegal use of your quirk and theft. Please do not resist," Tenya said as she handcuffed the villain. Penny approached and picked up the small backpack the villain had stolen and that had fallen to the ground. She nodded in our direction, and we nodded back. Then she started moving toward the man, helped him free, and returned his backpack.

"And another case solved for our beloved heroines!" I cheered joyfully with my fist in the air.

"Well done, girls, the transport is already on its way," Ingenium said with a nod as she approached us. "We'll wait for it and call it a day for our patrol; we've been out for several hours now," Ingenium said gently.

"Of course, brother- Ingenium." Tenya said as she nodded. Ingenium laughed and then began greeting the people who had started to gather and preventing them from getting too close.

I was smiling too, and I waved cheerfully to people. Almost a squeal of happiness escaped me. I wanted to be a hero to help people, but the public recognition made it all the more real.

Within a few minutes, a van arrived, followed by a really big truck. Several people in uniform quickly got out and started working.

"Hi, girls!" I greeted the group, one of them nodded in our direction.

"Crimson, I see you're on a roll." One of them said cheerfully, and I smiled.

"Of course we are, we're amazing!" I said with a wide smile. The uniformed woman laughed and nodded, then pointed her finger at the truck.

"Excellent work, everyone. Now go inside, we'll take it back to the office. We'll take care of the rest here," she said with a smile.

"Thank you for your hard work!" Tenya said, leaning towards them. The woman laughed and just waved at us. We nodded and started moving. Ingenium was the last to get on, waving goodbye to the crowd with a smile.

Everyone in the Idaten group was really nice. The same thing happened in the office; as we walked around, we greeted everyone we met and even stopped to chat.

Several receptionists, assistants, operators and even some engineers and mechanics and lawyers and nurses, really, the Idaten group was really big, so there was a lot of logistical support in the Idaten group building.

And they were all really nice. Over the past month, I'd already gotten to know most of them. Even so, we didn't linger long; Ingenium led us to our designated locker room.

A small room for us to share and leave our belongings. To my surprise, Ingenium came in with us, and the three of us looked at him as he smiled happily.

"Very well, Tenya, Crimson Reaper, and Penny, this is your last week. I hope you enjoyed it and learned a lot about heroic work. It has truly been a pleasure having the three of you working for Idaten." Ingenium said with a satisfied smile, and I smiled broadly.

"The pleasure was all ours, brother!" Tenya said as he bowed.

"It was incredible! Thank you for the opportunity," I said immediately, excitedly.

"We've learned a lot," Penny said proudly. Ingenium nodded in satisfaction.

"And as you probably know, there's a second round of internships after the winter break. You're certainly not obligated to come back here; you can choose any other agency. But I'd like to offer you another internship here. If you really want to come back, you'll have a place," Ingenium said without hesitation. My eyes widened. Tenya was about to speak quickly, but Ingenium raised his hand and stopped him. "Think about it."

"I don't need you to answer me now, these internships are for you to learn, you have the opportunity to work for different heroes, each one works in a different way, you will learn different things from them, it is not necessary to pigeonhole yourselves in the Idaten group."

"So think about it, look around and explore your options. I won't be offended if you don't come back; I'll be happy either way. What's most important is that you grow as heroines. Whether that happens in Idaten or not, it's fine. It will be a pleasure to know that you were here and learned, even if it was only temporarily," Ingenium said gently.

My eyes opened wide.

"We'll think of your word, brother!" Tenya said, bowing deeply. Ingenium just laughed.

"Go ahead. I'll leave you alone, take your time to change." Ingenium said with a smile as he left the room.

"That was so cool." Vibrating with excitement, Penny nodded quickly.

"The hero Ingenium is really nice." Penny agreed with me as she smiled.

"Really, I can only aspire to be a fraction of the hero that my brother is." Tenya said seriously, and I chuckled.

"I'm sure you will be," I said, giving her a thumbs-up. "Even so, thinking about other agencies? It feels strange. Idaten feels like one big family; it's nice to be here," I said with a sigh. Tenya nodded.

"It is, my brother says that everyone is important, not just the heroes, even the auxiliary agents are also important to the functioning of the Idaten group, everyone is held in high esteem and excellent camaraderie is fostered." Tenya said seriously.

"Even so, the hero Ingenium is right, we're still students and our job is to learn. We've been sharing experiences with our classmates and it seems like every internship is different," Penny hummed. Tenya nodded seriously.

"I did the same thing. My classmates have had really different experiences, but... once I graduate, I'll start working at Idaten with my brother. I don't know... if it would benefit me to work for another agency," Tenya said hesitantly.

"I mean... maybe? It would be good to know how other agencies work, you know? I mean, to get different perspectives and all that, maybe it would be good to experience them firsthand." I said, shrugging. "For example, Taylor has been in the United States, and there are many differences compared to the Japanese system, from what we've been able to find out."

"Taylor Hebert, Skitter, yes, I heard about her on the news," Tenya said before nodding seriously. "But I see... I'll have to talk to my brother about it." Tenya said seriously, and my eyes widened.

"I don't mean you should move to the United States or anything like that!" I said quickly. "It's something different, like Izumi, he has an internship with Mirko, and since she's completely independent and doesn't work for any agency, they move between cities."

"Or Azula, who's with Endeavor, who seems more intense than other heroes, according to her." I said quickly, gesturing with my hands. Tenya nodded.

"I'll keep that in mind," Tenya said seriously.

"Hmm, maybe I could join Endeavor's agency? I know it's a long way off, but at some point I'll have to go back to Atlas, and from what I can gather, Endeavor looks a lot like General Ironwood, who's in charge of and leads the hunters in Atlas. I'd be working for her when I get back." Penny said, tilting her head. I blinked.

"I don't know? I think they only accept heroines with fire quirks? I think Azula mentioned that most of them have fire quirks." I said, confused. Penny pouted.

"Maybe if I ask Dad to install some flamethrowers in my arms, will that work?" Penny asked, looking at her hands. My eyes sparkled with excitement.

"Oh, that would be truly amazing!! And you can change parts of your body that easily? Could your father create different arms so you can switch between fights?! And they're easy to swap! So you could generate fire with one of them and then ice, lightning, and other elements with other arms! And you could switch between them in the middle of a fight, and it would be incredible!" I said excitedly. Penny blinked and looked at her hands.

"I... I don't know? I really have to ask Dad," Penny said, confused.

"I really know your body is completely robotic, Penny, but it's... strange to hear you talking about swapping arms." Tenya said, almost worried. I snorted amusedly.

"You have a diesel engine that runs on orange juice in your legs, and I heard you talking about changing your engine's mufflers with your brother," I pointed out playfully. Tenya's mouth opened in shock before closing, then she leaned toward Penny.

"I'm sorry!" Tenya exclaimed loudly, Penny just laughed.

"Don't worry, Tenya," Penny said playfully. Tenya just stood up, we looked at each other before laughing.

"Alright, time to get changed!" I said cheerfully as I headed towards my belongings. Yes, it was a good internship; I really wonder what the next ones will be like.

Author's Notes: I don't know how good an idea it was to put Ruby, Penny and Tenya together, but this is what resulted and I loved it.
