Author's Notes: Chapter edited and corrected by Vongrak.
Tenko Shirakumo POV.
"Come on! Get inside! Inko's making lunch!" I gritted my teeth, trying to ignore All Might's loud, excited shout as he slapped my back, pushing me forward. I groaned as I looked at the house I'd recently had the misfortune of becoming familiar with.
The Midoriya house. Although calling it the Midoriya house was actually inaccurate; only that idiot Izuku and his mother were Midoriyas. All Might's real name was Toshinori Yagi, and his father was Sorahiko Torino. Apparently, all the name changes were necessary to keep them safe from All For One while she was in Japan.
As if that would have helped me. My biological family was Shimura, and it didn't really amount to anything since All For One found us anyway. I clicked my tongue as the front door opened, revealing the slightly plump figure of Inko Midoriya, who smiled brightly.
"Tenko! Shirakumo-san! Please, come in." She said with the same enthusiasm as All Might. I groaned again and had no choice but to walk inside when… Oboro did the same. The moment I stepped inside, I felt Inko hug me tightly. "It's a pleasure to see you again, Tenko!" I gritted my teeth and closed my eyes, hoping this suffering would end.
"Hahaha!" I heard All Might's laughter echo throughout the house before my suffering worsened as I felt All Might hug us and lift us both up at the same time. I gritted my teeth as my hand trembled. The only thing I truly missed about All For One was Decay.
"Mom, Dad, put Tenko down, you're bothering her." I opened my eyes and glared at the source of the voice. Izuku had an amused smile as he came in behind us. To my dismay and my good fortune, All Might did exactly as he was told. Then Inko put me down too, and they left me on the ground. I finally shuddered violently.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry," Inko said with a broad smile. "Let's go to the table, everything's ready. You all arrived just in time," she said cheerfully. "You too, Shirakumo-san," she said to Oboro, who simply nodded.
"Thank you for the dinner invitation, Midoriya-san." Oboro said calmly, and Inko laughed.
"Only Inko, dear, you're family." Inko said easily as she turned and went back to the kitchen. I almost snorted at that. Family, I guess that's how simple it was for them. And the only reason we came here despite being under constant surveillance was because of All Might's presence.
I grunted once more as I headed towards the dining room along with the rest.
To my initial surprise, the first time I visited the Midoriya house, it was quite small. I was sure that All Might was practically rich—incredibly rich—and could have had his own mansion, or several of them, but instead, they settled for an average house, remodeled so that the doors and ceiling were comfortable for All Might's height.
The only thing they had going for them was that they had a huge backyard for training and plenty of privacy because of the house's location, but beyond that, everything was pretty normal.
"So, Tenko? How's university going?" Inko asked cheerfully, and I frowned.
"Just like last week, when you asked the exact same thing." I glared at her. Inko just laughed, completely unfazed by my glare. Tch, damn Midoriyas.
"So... you're still with that Miyamura guy?" Inko asked with the same smile, and I got goosebumps all over.
"That bastard won't leave me alone, I'll kill him." I hissed furiously.
"You're blushing." Torino mocked, and I glared at him.
"It's because of anger." I growled back. Torino just raised a mocking eyebrow.
"I didn't say otherwise." Torino smiled. I shuddered, grabbed a piece of food and threw it at him. He just sneered, moved stupidly agile for an old man, caught it in the air and put it in his mouth.
"Thank you, everything is delicious as always, Inko." Torino said, ignoring me. I felt my eye twitch.
"Tenko, don't throw food." Oboro said beside me, and I glared at her. I clicked my tongue as I started eating again, ignoring Izuku's giggles and All Might's loud laughter. I would find him. I would find a way to kill them all.
"Don't worry, Inko! Tenko is doing wonderfully! She's catching up with her classes quickly, and the teachers are pleased with her academic performance." All Might said proudly, as if he were showing off his son. I bit my lip and kept staring at my food. It shouldn't feel... good to receive praise from All Might, especially after hating him and still hating him. Maybe... maybe it was okay if—"And she's still getting along well with Miyamura's group too! He and the girls have adopted Tenko and include her in their activities! Tenko has friends!" he added happily.
I closed my eyes and clenched my teeth, I take back everything I said, I was going to find a way to kill him, even if it took me years, and then I would piss on his damned grave.
Damn Miyamura. The bastard kept getting involved and sticking to me wherever I was, and not only that, he spoke in that annoyingly mocking tone that made me want to punch him, and I couldn't even do it! We had combat training and I'd fought him several times, but the bastard had been able to keep up with All For One. It pained me to admit it, but I wasn't on his damn level. Yet.
I couldn't even beat him at games! How the hell was that bastard so good at video games?! A guy shouldn't be that handsome and good at video games, it's unnatural!!
And then the rest of the girls came along with Miyamura! Taylor and Azula weren't that annoying, but Rose definitely was. And then there were all the other girls in the class; they seemed to think that since Miyamura and that idiot Izuku could approach me without any problem, it was okay for them to bother me.
"And you, Shirakumo-san? Have you regained your memories?" Inko asked gently. Oboro calmly ate her food before shaking her head.
"No," she said simply, almost indifferently. "Aizawa-san, Kayama-san, and Yamada-san have kept showing me memories of… UA, but nothing has happened," Oboro said calmly. I glared at her, blushing, and almost wanted to snort.
I rolled my eyes. Despite what she said, Oboro was bonding with the three teachers. They got along well. I had seen them interact. Even though the three seemed to have their own language and dynamics, they didn't seem to leave Oboro out. In fact, even with her memory erased, Oboro adapted well to the trio's dynamic, whether it was on purpose for them or simply because Oboro's unconscious memories and feelings helped her.
It's not like I was worried, Oboro was still Oboro, no matter what happened to those three, Oboro will still be on my side.
The rest of lunch was just as annoying and tedious; luckily, I was able to grunt out of most conversations without actually having to answer anything.
"Alright, shall we train?" Torino asked, finishing wiping his mouth with a rag beside him. I felt a surge of excitement. It was the only reason I kept coming to this house and enduring the torture that came with it.
"Let's go," Izuku said excitedly. I heard Inko sigh as she started clearing the plates.
"Let me help you." Oboro said as she helped Inko. I could almost see her refuse before sighing once more. That conversation had already happened several times and Inko had lost most of them, so she simply nodded resignedly.
"Let's go." All Might said with a smile. I could feel his heavy hand on my shoulder in a gesture he surely thought was comforting. I clicked my tongue, slapped his hand hard, and stood up, walking away.
I followed Izuku to the backyard where he was already starting to stretch and warm up his muscles. I looked away and started doing the same. I really wanted to get straight to the point, but none of the three of us would start anything if we didn't do the damn exercises.
"Alright, let's start with a light sparring match between you two. Izuku, you can't use more than 25% of OFA." All Might said, and Izuku nodded seriously. I growled loudly. I hated the feeling of being looked down upon, but I hated even more that he was right. Without my old quirk and still learning to use this one, I couldn't keep up with the idiot if he got any more serious.
"Let's fight already." I growled furiously as I glared at Izuku. He simply nodded and got ready. I could see lightning flashing all over his body, and I tensed up.
Izuku appeared in front of me as he tried to kick me in the head. I moved my body, turned my body, and crossed my arms with my opposite arm. I received his kick while holding my palm open. Several yellow rings came out of my hand and stopped Izuku's punch before deflecting it away from me.
In my other hand, the circles appeared at the same time, only these instead of concentrating, grew widely before pushing me at high speed in the direction of Izuku.
I tried to drive my elbow into Izuku's stomach, but he quickly covered himself and pushed me back. I used the momentum to get even further away as I jumped back, using small rings under my foot that propelled my jump.
Accelerator Rings, my original quirk. It was the first name that came to mind to register them, but they were capable of much more than simply accelerating things as their name indicated.
I could create several yellow rings of energy from my hands and feet, then release a burst of force in a specific direction. I could propel myself or push things away from me with enough force and speed to deliver powerful blows, either repelling the enemy or increasing my speed.
I spun my body in the air, creating several rings in the opposite direction of movement that stopped my body in the air. I spun my body and aligned them with my rings. The rings pushed me in the air and launched me towards Izuku at high speed. I spun in the air and attacked with a downward kick in the air.
Izuku prepared himself and reacted to my movement, jumping to the side before throwing a punch at me. I used my hands to create the same rings that activated before Izuku's punch connected, repelling it a fraction of a second before it hit me.
Izuku's arm was thrown back by the recoil of the attack. I created new rings, and this time, I threw a punch. My fist pierced through the rings and activated. The rings are capable of accelerating anything in front of them, regardless of where it's attached. That meant my fist was instantly propelled forward.
It was truly baffling learning to punch this way. It wasn't that my arm or body accelerated along with my fist; no, only my fist accelerated. It helped me punch harder, but since my fist was the only thing accelerating, it meant that my fist was pushing and pulling the rest of my body, which was much slower.
This caused my body to receive brutal internal forces, pulls, tears, twisting, body whipping and much more; it was stupidly dangerous, especially if I wasn't used to it and tried to resist the acceleration.
Fortunately, my aura was able to mitigate most of the damage and keep my body together so I could take full advantage of my rings' maximum speed. This was especially important because creating smaller, more concentrated rings increased their pushing power.
Enough to keep up with Izuku in terms of strength, at least while he was holding back. We continued exchanging blows; I kept creating rings. I could only create up to four at the moment, but I could stack them and combine them to amplify each other, and it was more than enough.
The only real problem was that they had a slight activation delay, so high-speed fights were a real issue. If my reactions were slow enough, I couldn't activate them in time for them to take effect.
The sparring match was even enough to reach a stalemate. I clicked my tongue, pushed Izuku's arm again, and created four tiny rings, just big enough for one finger to fit through.
And that's what I was about to do. I extended my index finger and pushed it through the rings.
I hated Miyamura; he was annoying, irritating, and he could go on and on listing a hundred other bad and horrible things about him. But, even though she hated to admit it, he was a damn prodigy when it came to fighting.
It had taken him little time after discovering exactly how my quirk worked just to come up with ideas for movements, and to my surprise, he taught me something really useful.
Shigan. A technique for using the finger as a weapon. The finger had to be strengthened to its maximum potential in a special way and then moved at ridiculous speed to be used as a weapon.
Miyamura had been able to pierce stone and metal alike with just his fingers and that technique. That meant he could pierce a person with the same ease. And for some reason, he taught it to me. As if I wasn't a villain, a murderer, someone capable of hurting others. I gritted my teeth.
Izuku stared at my finger, which increased in speed to a terrifying degree after passing through the four rings, to the point that it almost dislocated my arm at the shoulder due to the sudden force exerted on my finger. I could see him exceed his 25% limit to escape my attack. My finger continued past the point of impact and struck the ground.
My hand pierced the ground with ease and a huge crater formed beneath me.
"And that's a victory for Tenko. You've passed your limit, Izuku," Torino said easily. Izuku landed next to me and smiled apologetically.
"That attack took me by surprise," Izuku said awkwardly, then turned to face me, his eyes gleaming. "That attack was new—was it something you created? The speed concentrated in the fingertip was many times greater than in the fist! But a finger is much more fragile than a fist; you risk breaking your finger without protection! Have you thought about using gauntlets? Something like one that comes with built-in knuckle guards so you can still use your fists, but also has finger protection so you can use both options! Or even something pointed? I don't think the level of finger penetration is truly extraordinary, so it could be improved! And—"
""Izuku."" All Might and Torino said at the same time. Izuku stopped and took a deep breath, then blushed and smiled apologetically.
"I'm sorry," Izuku said shyly. I just sighed and looked at my hand. My finger was trembling slightly.
"It's called Shigan. And yes, I thought about using protection; I'm still designing something." I grunted easily. And it was a lie; Miyamura had already mentioned those weaknesses and the option of using finger protection, although he preferred that I first improve my finger strength so as not to rely exclusively on the armor.
"That's great! If you need help, just ask." Izuku said with a wide smile.
"You've improved a lot, Tenko," Torino said, sounding proud. I looked away. "And you, Izuku, did you feel any change in One for All?" Torino asked curiously as he handed us wet towels. I clicked my tongue, took one, and started wiping the sweat from my training.
"Not yet," Izuku sighed, wiping away his sweat. "I can... feel it, it's close. I... I can see parts of the remnants, but I can't communicate with them. They're still far from my reach. I get closer every day, but there's still a way to go, but I don't know how far." Izuku said, frowning as he thought.
"Don't force it then, you just need more time," Torino said easily. Izuku just grimaced before nodding. "Then, I guess it's my turn to train you. Are you ready, Tenko?" Torino asked as he stood up.
"Actually, I could be the next one to train?" All Might suddenly asked, and we all turned and looked at him.
"Train, Toshinori?" Torino asked, raising an eyebrow. All Might laughed cheerfully before turning serious.
"All For One will return." All Might said seriously, and I unconsciously shuddered. "Ryuma, his quirk is purely supportive, so he faced All For One head-on using only Haki, despite his age." All Might raised his hand before smiling broadly. "AFO will return, of that I have no doubt, and when he does, I won't stand idly by."
"So what if I don't have One For All? I still have my body, and what if all I need is that and my WILL to face her? THEN THAT WILL BE ENOUGH." All Might said as he clenched his fist so tightly that it made a small burst of air.
"Only you, Toshinori," Torino said, laughing sadly. "Is this something you just thought of?" he asked gently. All Might shook his head.
"No, I've been thinking about it for months now. I've been training my Haki, but it's time to level up." All Might said easily.
"So... does that mean you're coming back as a Hero?" Izuku asked, almost in shock. All Might laughed loudly.
"No, I'll remain retired." All Might said honestly, then looked at him—no, he looked at us intently. "My era is over. You are the new generation of heroes. Now, it's your turn. I will continue to teach you everything I know, as your Professor." All Might said with a smile as he looked at us. I shuddered slightly. Heroine, I still didn't know if it was something I really wanted to do, but I suppose continuing to train wouldn't cause any problems.
"Let's train." I said dryly and got into position. All Might laughed out loud.
"I LIKE YOUR ENTHUSIASM, TENKO! IZUKU! JOIN IN TOO, YOU TWO AGAINST ME!" said All Might as he slammed his fists together.
"Let's do our best, Tenko!" Izuku said with a smile as he stood beside me. I grimaced, but I wasn't going to refuse his help, not to fight All Might.
I guess there were worse families than the Midoriyas.
