Chapter 7 - Text imagination: Contracted(1)

That weird person finally placed an offering down, however, there was something I didn't understand.

"Here's the deal! You stay with me for a week and then you can take my soul!"

A delusional human that thought he could make the conditions loudly yelled into thin air with blood dripping from his nose.

'So he offers himself and he asks for a week of my time….'

A human soul for a week of my power.

Truly a pathetic and foolish race.

But since this human thinks he can play god for even a second I'll have to at least respond. Like I've always done.

-*YOU TRULY BELIEVE THAT YOUR PATHETIC HUMAN SOUL IS WORTH EVEN A DAY WORTH OF MY POWER?*

The pathetic human seemed to shudder and his nose bleeding got worse as he fell to the ground.

'He can't even handle my voice, how is he going to handle my power?'

Once again I looked at the fragile vessel holding the soul being shattered.

"Urgh! Argh, I don't want your power!"

The human said something ridiculous.

-*YOU'RE TRYING TO GO BACK ON YOUR WORD NOW?*

Truly a pathetic attempt of self preservation.

"I clearly said what I wanted…. A… week of… your…."

'Time? Did he truly mean that?'

He lost consciousness and I observed him silently.

I looked at the summoning circle quietly.

'An awful attempt that somehow worked. This link will be broken in less than two minutes.'

The room was not well maintained and the cool breeze flowed through open windows.

'What a strange human.'

The human soul's value was nothing compared to my power, however when you restrict it to earth's laws its value skyrockets.

'A mere week.'

It would certainly be a good opportunity to learn about these foolish humans, and why they continue to strive for impossible goals.

*Zap!*

The magic circle made noise and I sped up my time.

-*STOP.*

'Fine, you will be a somewhat satisfactory human to study.'

-*I ACCEPT YOUR DEAL, PATHETIC HUMAN.*

My body gradually assimilated into the laws of the world and I created a vessel.

********

After waiting a few hours the human finally woke up.

"Ugh, cough! What happened? Ah, I guess even that failed. Whatever…."

The human said as he wiped his bloody nose.

"Human, what do you want?"

He looked in my direction with shock and he stared at me for a while.

"W-what? What are you? Who are you?"

Genuine confusion. Why was this human being so weird?

"Is there something wrong with my vessel?"

'I was even trying to be considerate by using a vessel that other humans have approved.'

The human shook his head and picked up a rectangular device.

He briefly stopped as he looked at his bloodied hand.

"Ugh, just look at this for a second."

He turned the device and there I was.

Black hair, black eyes, smooth face, it was a pretty good imitation of a human if I would say so myself.

"Is there a problem?"

He walked towards the bathroom and cleaned his hands as he answered.

"Look at the rest of your body, you look strange."

'Strange?'

The human sighed and continued.

"Your limbs are like cooked spaghetti and your chest looks like it's harder than diamonds."

This human, why was he saying something so stupid?

"It's for efficiency, my limbs can swiftly complete tasks while attached to the rest of my body, which is near indestructible."

'Foolish human, are all humans this stupid nowadays? How do humans even live then?'

"Efficiency huh, what about actually trying to look like a human?"

The foolish human took back the rectangular device and tapped it a few times.

"I've already been considerate enough as to lower my status so that you humans can't even feel my presence. How much more demanding are you going to be?"

'Should I snap his neck after the week is over?'

The human seemed annoying and seemed to enjoy wasting my time. But since I've already agreed to the contract there was nothing I could do.

"Here, this is how the body is built."

The rectangular device now showed a skeleton along with multiple other pictures.

'Inefficient....'

"Sigh."

Then he scrolled down and there were more details about how humans were built. And lastly there was a picture of a woman.

"Try to look like this instead. At least you'll look human, not like a shapeshifter....."

He had a point? I compared myself and nodded to myself.

'Roughly 206 bones, multiple thousand veins and muscles.....'

I closed my eyes as I gradually copied what I saw, and eventually I felt satisfied.

"Huh, humans are simpler than I thought. Wasn't this perfectly done?"

I could now perfectly replicate a human in a matter of minutes, did I really need to study humans now?

*Thud.*

It was the sound of something falling.

"Hmm? Human, why did you fall?"

What was with these humans, constantly falling all over the place.

The human's body temperature was hotter than when I first met him, beads of liquid were being produced and his face was redder than before.

'His breathing pattern also changed. What is happening?'

I felt a feeling I hadn't in a long time and tapped his cheek.

'This is something I've never seen before. Why did these things happen all at once? His skin is turning red instead of white?'

I believe it was called curiosity. I was, getting curious about a human?

'I should bring him somewhere else.'

It wasn't fun to be in a quiet and cold place, maybe that was why he was like that?

I looked around and found some stairs.

'The temperature is warmer there.'

I took both of his legs and dragged him up the stairs.

*Thud.. Thud...*

The occasional thuds were annoying but nothing I couldn't deal with.

I eventually reached a door and opened it.

What met me was a bright house with a clear sky and furniture.

'Hmm, why was there such a dreary place within his home?'

I put down his legs and closed the door.

I looked around and touched a few things.

'It's soft? Hmm, maybe I should wait until he wakes up here.'

I sat down on the soft furniture and closed my eyes.

'Huh, maybe I should bring this back with me when I go back. This is really nice.'

I briefly remembered where I lived and silently agreed to myself.

"I guess humans are capable of doing something nice."

*******

Something was hitting the ground.

*Thud.*

Was I being dragged somewhere?

*Thud.*

Are they evil? Did they kidnap me?

*Thud.*

"Urgh."

I opened my eyes slowly and felt pain.

'My back practically broken and my head hurts....'

I was outside the cellar and I was sleeping on the ground.

'Did I get drunk or something?'

I stretched a little while being in pain.

'What happened?'

I thought back on what happened and sighed.

'It must've been a dream, there's no way I summoned a demon right?'

I followed the instructions of some crazy old person and tried to summon a demon.

'What happened after that?'

I tried to summon a demon and it succeeded?

'I don't really remember much more, I think I saw a black haired woman? Ugh, I should get some water.'

I got up and walked towards the kitchen silently while ignoring what was on the couch.

I got myself water and-

'What was that? Who's on the couch?'

I quickly drank my water and ran towards the couch.

'What the hell happened?'

There, lying on the bed, was a woman with pure black hair that barely reflected any light, a pretty face and a silk like poncho?

'Huh? Why does she seem familiar?'

I quickly searched through my memories until I remembered something and ran to the cellar.

When I reached the bottom of the stairs I stopped.

'No way right?'

There was my phone, an empty bottle of pills along with a magic circle made with chalk.

"No f*cking way right? Cough!"

I quickly checked my phone and there were search results, ignoring the cough.

'There's a Wikipedia page and the picture of a model I find attractive. The camera app was also opened recently....'

I quickly checked the photos and sighed deeply.

There was the picture of a woman with spaghetti like arms and legs, along with a chest that looked as hard as a diamond.

'So it was real? A demon descended?? Wait, she looks similar to...'

I quickly realized my mistake.

'They're the same person. Or at least it's an incarnation somehow.'

The demon was that woman, or at least their incarnation. And she could shapeshift.

"I think I doomed the world."

I sighed and looked at the bathroom silently. There were still bloodstains left and my arm was still dirty.

'Not that the world has done anything for me.'

I turned off the lights to the bathroom and opened the door as I entered the living room.

'Is she still sleeping?'

I briefly looked back to where the couch and she still slept there peacefully.

'She looks like a princess.... although she's definitely a demon.'

I sighed and sat down on a chair.

'I guess I got my wish....'

And like that the sun rose one more time.
