Opening my eyes, I look around as I didn't recognize where I had woken up as I had woken up inside of a random apartment.
As I got up and started looking around, it seemed like a normal apartment as I looked around the place.
Everything seem normal until I checked one of the windows from the apartment. As I open the window the entire apartment seems to be floating in a black nothingness.
I stand back as I immediately close the window.
Where the fuck am I? Was one of my worried thoughts as I tried to reach for my phone as I noticed it was no longer with me, including my wallet or anything else as I only have the clothes I was wearing with me.
But that did make me start remembering what I was doing before appearing here. I have been drinking a lot and then I decided to go out to eat with some of my friends and then…..
[Congratulations on dying in a car crash like an idiot]
As a floating text box appeared in front of me. I took some steps back as I fell down one of the couches in the apartment.
"What the fuck is this?" I mutter to myself as I look at the floating red box in front of me.
What the hell was even this place was this was this hell or something?
[This is your hub. From here, you can select the world you wish to travel to and begin your adventures across the multiverse.]
As I finish reading a list of several worlds expanded as several titles appeared. The screen formatting reminded me of a cyoa on the several options that I could pick making it seem like a game.
Was this like some of those gamer system stories where I would get the opportunity to get a free isekai experience.
[Select Your Starting World:]
1. Naruto
2. One Piece
3. Harry Potter
4. Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)
5. Attack on Titan
6. Star Wars
7. Dragon Ball Z
8. The Lord of the Rings
9. My Hero Academia
10. Elden Ring
11...…..
As I slowly adjust to my situation, I decide to look through the list of several worlds that I could go to each one with their own objective that I need to complete.
Ultimately I decided to pick one of the few world I was completely familiar with and that in my past life, I was a super mega fanboy about as the story was one of the best stories ever written definitely better than that bitch ass naruto.
[You have selected: One Piece.]
The moment I made my selection the apartment dissolved into light as I was pulled into a swirling vortex. I barely had time to scream before my vision went black.
As vortex spat me out I found myself splashing face-first into salty water.
I flailed and gasped, the ocean dragging me under before I even had a chance to catch my breath. Panic kicked in, and I kicked back, managing to breach the surface long enough to cough up a lungful of water and curse my rotten luck.
"Why," I gasped, paddling desperately toward the shore, "didn't they at least give me a raft or something?"
The waves shoved me like a bully in a schoolyard, finally dumping me onto the sandy beach. I lay there for a moment, half-dead and drenched, before rolling over and staring at the bright, cloudless sky.
"So, this is the One Piece world, huh? Great start," I muttered, spitting out some sand.
It was only when the heat of the sun began to bake my soaked clothes that I groaned and sat up. I peeled my shirt off, wringing it out as best I could, then set it on a flat rock to dry. My pants and shoes followed, leaving me standing there in just my boxers, praying no one happened to wander by.
The beach was quiet, stretching endlessly in both directions, with the jungle's edge not far from where the sand met the trees. Seagulls squawked overhead, the salty breeze carrying their cries out to sea.
I crouched next to my clothes, staring out at the horizon.
This system could I at least tell me where I was at since I didn't have a map feature or anything like that. For all I knew, I could be on some nameless island in the south blue or whatever.
I glanced at the water again, shaking my head. "This is going to suck."
Before I could dive into self-pity, a soft chime echoed in my head, followed by a familiar glowing screen.
Quest added
[Find Shelter]
Objective: Locate a safe spot to rest for the night.
Reward: 100 Credits.
Penalty: None.
"Well, at least the system's not completely useless," I muttered. I stood, brushing the sand off my legs.
[Newbie gift box] do you wish to open it?
As I obviously click yes another pop-up appeared in front of me, making me smile at all the rewards I had been given as I have been given some good items to help me right now.
[You received the following rewards]
[Summoning companion token (common) X5
Gacha token X5
Gender swap token
Random skill orb X3
Gacha token - legendary tier]
"Why is everything gambling-related?" I muttered looking at the list most of it being actually pretty good.
As I decide to look on my stuff I got from my newbie package I get another pop-up.
[Warning: using one of the summoning companion token summons a companion from the Multiverse summoning a random person to serve you however this person will still have their needs and if they die, they will die permanently like anyone else in this world]
"Fuck it," I decided as I decided to use one of my summoning tokens.
The air around me shimmered, and before I could even blink, a figure appeared in a flash of light. A girl, dressed in an outfit that looked like it came straight from an anime no surprise there. She had long, flowing orangey brown hair and that went to her back she was wearing a distinct red-and-white combat dress featuring a long white tunic, a vibrant red mini-skirt, a lightweight metal breastplate with a cross emblem, detachable arm sleeves, and knee-high white-and-red armored boots.
"You are my summoner?" she asked as she observed me she was clearly sizing me up, and I could tell she wasn't impressed by my current, less-than-heroic state standing in the sand with only my boxers on, drenched in seawater.
"Well, yeah... I guess," I said, trying to sound more confident than I felt as she gave me no response I simply rubbed the back of my head awkwardly. "Look, I'm not exactly prepared for this, okay? I'm kind of new to the whole 'multiverse summoning' thing and n."
She sighed dramatically, crossing her arms, her expression softening only slightly. "Fine you summoned me, so I suppose I'll serve you as after all you are my summoner. I'm not sure how long I'll last, but I'll honor the contract."
[Character Summoned: Asuna Yuuki (Sword Art Online)]
[You have successfully summoned Asuna Yuuki. She is now your companion and will prioritize your safety and well-being.]
"Alright then," I said, rubbing my temples. "This just got a whole lot more complicated."
Asuna crossed her arms "I'm not sure what your plans are, but I suggest we find shelter and figure out more about this place".
I simply followed her my other summons could come later right now. I need to concentrate on what was important.
-Asuna Yuuki-
As she gathered materials for their shelter, she couldn't help but glance at her new master with a thoughtful expression.
When she was first summoned, she had expected to find someone more established, someone with experience in this sort of situation not some random loser through the basics. Yet, there was something oddly reassuring about it. Maybe it was a good sign she just hope her parents wouldn't freak out to see her comatose body disappear.
She had been trapped in ALfheim Online by that madman of Sugou and was only freed by whatever power had brought her here.
Thankfully she's regain the abilities she possess in Sword Art Online. That honestly had made her think then instead of freeing her whatever had brought her had just sent her to an another game.
Regardless she needed to help her new master to complete this "world" so she can return back home.
In that thought, she decided to glanced at him again, taking in the details of his appearance. At first, he had looked somewhat pathetic soaked, disoriented, and standing around in nothing but his boxers. But now that she took a closer look, she had to admit, he wasn't as bad as she initially thought.
Her new master was tall, standing around six feet. His long black hair cascaded down past his shoulders, streaked with strands of silver. His dark blue eyes were sharp, and his skin was pale almost unnaturally so, like he spent more time indoors than he probably should have.
For someone who looked like a shut-in loser he was actually pretty handsome.
She shook her head, dismissing the thought she had a mission to focus on. She used her new acquired crafting skills to start putting together a shelter a small fortress, really, considering the situation.
After a few hours of hard work, they had a modest structure: a small room to cook in, another for sleeping. It wasn't much, but it would be enough to keep them safe for the time being.
"Alright," she said, brushing off the dust from her hands as she surveyed their work. "It's not much, but it'll do for now. We can improve it as we go."
Her master, still trying to catch his breath after the day's events, gave her a tired but grateful look. "Thanks... Asuna. I don't think I could've done this without you."
She nodded, her expression softening slightly. "I'm here to help, let's just hope the rest of this world is as manageable as this."
-Dante-
I let out a small sigh of relief as I relax on the floor, I was kinda uncomfortable but this was the best comfort that I was gonna get in this shit hole. At least one thing was going right for me today.
Quest completed
[Find Shelter]
Objective: Locate a safe spot to rest for the night.
Reward: 100 Credits.
Note: the system possesses a store feature credit to the currency use in the store.
As I clicked on the system store. A bunch of options popped up to me all of them in different catalogs. Skills, items, and even potential upgrades for my character were listed, though it was clear that the good stuff was way out of my budget.
I decided to simply dissipated I'd rather save more credits so I can spend more in the future and waste them all right now I thought.
As Asuna came back with what look like a massive bird I could only sigh as I looked at it. Why did I pick this world again? I remembered now an image of a certain white hair girl with horns sitting on my face appeared on my mind.
I wasn't going to die until I had the chance to fuck the shit out of yamato big ass booty. I thought feeling slightly horny until i shook my head.
I observed Asuna cutting the dead animal she likely use her cooking skills as she started cooking it thanks to her time in SAO, the food she made turned out surprisingly delicious. I wasn't sure how she did it, but it was honestly the best meal I'd had in a long time.
We ate in relative silence, and once we finished, I made my way to the sleeping area a small, slightly uncomfortable corner of the shelter. I didn't have much to sleep on, but exhaustion took over. I stretched out on the floor, trying to ignore the uncomfortable sand beneath me, and within moments, I drifted off to sleep.
-later-
As the first rays of sunlight pierced through the cracks of our makeshift shelter, I stretched and sat up, still groggy from the night before. The shelter had held up well, and the sound of waves crashing outside was almost calming.
Then, I remembered the Random Skill Orbs that I still haven't used yet.
Opening my system, I navigated to my inventory and selected the three orbs from my newbie package. Immediately, three small glowing marbles materialized in my hands, each pulsating with energy.
"Well, let's see what I've got," I muttered as I broke all three orbs in my hand.
New Skill Unlocked
[Acid manipulation]
Description: Allows you to create and manipulate acid in any way or shape you like however the more complex the more energy it will cost. This skill can be improved overtime.
[Shield projection]
Description: Allows you to project a construct that looks like a shield made out of energy the quality of the shield depends on the amount of energy use. This skill can be improved overtime.
[Quick Learner]
Description: Reduces the time required to learn and master new skills by 50%.
Honestly, I had not expected this much good luck but I had definitely totally lucked out this time as these three were pretty good
My new [Acid manipulation] could work as a pseudo loggia and with the last part of the flavor, tech implies that I couldn't eventually actually make it better then a loggia I could probably learn how to make my body turn into acid eventually.
The other two were pretty good as well but [Shield projection] was honestly probably the worst out of the three, however it could still be useful, depending on the situation but [Quick Learner] by itself completely eclipse the other two as it made me able to learn much faster better normal person this would be helpful for any skill that I wanted to pick up like swordsmanship or something as basic as cooking or something.
As I continued with my thoughts about my new skills I could see from the corner of my eyes Asuna stirred in her sleeping area as she sitting up and rubbing her eyes. "You're up early what's got you so excited?"
"Just got some new power from this power of mine looks like I might not be as useless as I was yesterday."
She raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "What did you get?"
As I explained my new skills to Asuna, her eyes lit up with an idea, and before I could ask what she was planning, she was already on her feet.
"I'll be back," she said simply, grabbing one of her weapons from her inventory. Without another word, she headed into the nearby forest, her movements swift and purposeful.
I didn't have to wait long. Within half an hour, she returned with a large bird slung over her shoulder the same kind we'd eaten the night before. She made quick work of cleaning and cooking it, and before I knew it, we were sitting down to a surprisingly good breakfast.
Once we'd finished eating and cleaned up, Asuna stood, dusting her hands off.
"Alright," she said, turning to me with a determined glint in her eye. "Now that we have a good shelter it's time for you to learn how to defend yourself."
She pulled a second sword from her inventory a basic blade, but sharp and sturdy enough to do damage. Tossing it to me, as I grabbed it as I got excited at the prospect.
As we both head out, I follow her as we both entered the forest.
What followed was two hours of pure hell. Asuna didn't hold back, forcing me to defend against her relentless strikes. Every time I thought I was getting the hang of it, she'd switch up her technique, knocking me flat on my back or disarming me entirely.
"Keep your stance balanced!" she barked, watching as I wobbled under the weight of a swing.
"I'm trying!" I snapped, panting as I blocked another strike.
"Not hard enough." She moved faster, her sword a blur as she struck my blade. The impact jarred my arms, and I barely managed to hold on.
By the end of it, I was drenched in sweat, my arms felt like jelly, and every muscle in my body ached. I collapsed onto the ground, gasping for air as Asuna stood over me, looking far too composed for someone who had just been swinging a sword nonstop.
"Well," she said, smirking slightly. "You're terrible, but at least you're not hopeless."
"Gee, thanks," I muttered, wiping the sweat from my brow.
She sheathed her sword, crossing her arms. Asuna offered a hand to help me up, and despite the ache in my body, I took it.
"Same time tomorrow," she said, her tone leaving no room for argument.
I could only nod with my hand at her.
