The next day.
A deep blue dragon departed from the Fairy Tail guild. It broke through the clouds and flew north, leaving the vast forest far behind.
Chase sat on the back of Guardian of the Fortress. He looked down at the strange, fantastical landscape below.
Though his friends did not understand why he was going off to find the Edo Chase team at such a critical time, they still trusted him completely.
Edo Mirajane gave him a magical device that could track Edo Chase and the others. It looked like a smartwatch. When he put magic power into it, a holographic screen appeared. It showed his current location and an estimated distance to his target.
According to Edo Mirajane, Edo Chase had made it. That way, their friends at the guild could always find them.
That was why everyone had been so surprised to see him.
Such amazing technology.
But Chase thought about it. This world had a device that could teleport dozens of people at once. A simple tracker was not that strange.
"Guardian of the Fortress. I am sorry for the trouble," Chase said, patting the dragon's back.
According to the watch, he needed to leave the continent. He had to cross the ocean. He was heading to another land in the north.
Even the well-traveled Edolas guild knew almost nothing about that mysterious place.
That was why Edo Chase, Edo Gildarts, and the others had gone there. They wanted to find a new source of magic. They had been gone for two years.
Chase thought it might be the right direction. Geographically, the north of Edolas would probably correspond to Guiltina in Earthland.
"Roo~"
Guardian of the Fortress turned its head. It blinked. It said this was nothing.
To prove it, its body glowed blue. It flew even faster.
Soon, they crossed the ocean.
The wind whistled past. Chase was used to it. He sighed. "Without Lucy here, it is a little boring."
His friends were with the Edolas guild. They would help Mystogan. They would also fight the king if they had to. So he was alone.
He pulled out a card. A pink magic circle appeared.
Dark Magician Girl was summoned. She tried to strike a cute pose. Then she was thrown back by the wind.
"You surprised me! Could you not have stopped first?!" She flew back to him.
"Guardian of the... chan?"
The dragon looked annoyed. I am a man!
"Why would I stop? You cannot die from falling."
Chase smiled. "I am bored. Tell me a joke."
"What? I am a genius magical girl. I am an idol. And you want me to tell you a joke? If you ask nicely..."
"You standing there is already funny enough."
"I will fight you!"
Having the silly girl with him made the trip less boring.
Two hours later, they reached land.
Like the place where the Edolas guild was, this northern continent had floating islands and rivers in the sky.
There were also buildings. They were simple and primitive. Not as grand as the capital.
The people there probably had no magic. They used tools, like everyone else.
Chase was not interested in them. He followed the watch to his destination.
A large, untouched forest. Giant trees and mushrooms. It was quiet and dangerous.
"The magic here is stronger than where Edo Lucy and the others live," Dark Magician Girl said.
She had just blasted a bird that tried to eat them.
"Then it makes sense Chase would be here," Chase said.
The Edo Chase team had left the guild to find magic.
"What if the other you has the opposite personality too?" Dark Magician Girl grinned. "I want to see him cry."
"You just want to see my face like that." Chase hit her on the head.
A roar echoed through the forest. Birds flew away.
Chase looked at his watch. It was the right direction. He put Guardian of the Fortress back in its card. He and Dark Magician Girl went to see.
When they got there, they saw a giant snake. It was covered in blue stripes. It was a thousand meters long. It was chasing a few people.
"Are those Gildarts, Laxus, and the Thunder God Tribe?"
Dark Magician Girl was surprised. "And... the other you?!"
Chase was also surprised. The other man looked just like him.
"They look like they are in trouble."
Dark Magician Girl glowed. She wanted to save them.
Chase stopped her. "Wait. Let us see."
This forest was dangerous. If the Edo Chase team was still alive, they must have some skills.
He wanted to see what they could do.
As if in answer, Edo Freed, Edo Evergreen, and Edo Bickslow threw some bombs at the snake.
BOOM!
Red smoke appeared.
The snake's head came out. It roared.
"They are not very strong," Dark Magician Girl said.
"They look more like drugs," Chase said.
The Thunder God Tribe were medics in this world. They would have such things.
The snake went crazy. It chased Edo Gildarts.
He had boots that made him faster. He led the snake away.
The others went to the top of some ruins.
Edo Chase took out machine parts. Edo Laxus helped him assemble them. It looked like a cannon.
"Finally, we got it out of the ruins. Now try this!"
BOOM!
The cannon fired. It hit the snake.
The snake fell. It was dead.
"We did it! Victory for Fairy Tail!" Edo Evergreen said.
"We used too many magic crystals," Edo Gildarts said.
"It was worth it," the other Edo Gildarts said.
"Are you hurt?" Edo Bickslow took out a medical kit.
Edo Chase sat on the ground. He wiped his forehead. "That was close."
"Get up! It was just a snake!"
A voice came from behind. Everyone was startled.
Edo Laxus turned around. He had a gun.
"Oh, it is just you."
"I am right here!" Edo Chase, hiding behind Edo Gildarts, shouted.
"Two Chases? I must be tired." Edo Evergreen held her head.
"No. You are not," Edo Gildarts said.
"He is right. A beautiful young woman like this could never be in my imagination," Edo Freed said. He held Dark Magician Girl's hand.
Chase: ...
This is Freed?
And Gildarts is so calm?
"Freed! Have you no manners?!" Edo Laxus said.
"I asked her for coffee. How is that rude? Shut up, Laxus!"
It seemed their relationship was still the same.
Edo Gildarts stepped forward. He pushed Edo Freed away. "Who are you? How did you get that watch?"
He was sharp. He noticed the watch on Chase's wrist. He knew only people from the guild could have one.
So, this man was not an enemy.
"This is complicated. Where should I begin?"
Chase scratched his head. "I am from another world. Earthland. I came here with my guild to stop the king."
It was hard to believe. But his face and the watch proved it.
"So there is another world."
"Natsu and Lucy from another world? That sounds interesting."
"Maybe we should go home."
They were an adventuring team. They had seen strange things. They believed him.
But one person was different.
Edo Chase sat with his head down. He was thinking. He did not look surprised at all.
