Countless crimson beams of light illuminated the entire wasteland. Destructive energy exploded outward in all directions from Gandora's body. The ground shattered like tofu.
Terrible explosions bloomed in an instant, echoing through the night sky.
Then, a holy white light appeared at the center of the blast. A divine barrier expanded. It reflected all that terrifying energy, causing a second, even more powerful explosion.
When the chaos finally settled, the once rocky wasteland was completely leveled. Destruction was everywhere.
Fragments of light floated in the air. They reformed into Gandora.
"What was that?" Gandora's eyes widened. It could not believe it.
Its suicide move had been reflected?
"Trap Card. Mirror Force."
Chase brushed the dust from his cape. He showed the card between his fingers.
The moment he sensed Gandora's ultimate attack, he had activated Mirror Force. He had turned the tables.
No wonder they call him the Table-Flipping Dragon.
Gandora's Raging Light Flash was incredibly powerful. In terms of raw power, it was the strongest in his deck. Except for Slifer.
But it had a weakness. It could only be used once. Then it would return to the Graveyard.
It was a good trump card for desperate situations.
Chase looked at the destruction around him. He sighed. "You are too reckless."
If he used this in Magnolia, the whole city would be gone.
Gandora and Natsu would get along.
Just as Chase was thinking about introducing them, the others returned.
"Stupid master. You are one to talk. You helped," Dark Magician Girl said.
She had escaped the blast. But Chase's reflection had caught her. Her face was covered in mud. Her pink robe was dirty.
Kuriboh looked at her. Then at Rock Giant Soldier. It sighed.
Wrong choice.
The other monsters looked rough too. Some had been destroyed and were reforming.
"My hair!" Buster Blader was angry. He pointed at Gandora. "Why did you drag me into this?!"
Curse of Dragon and Guardian of the Fortress were fine. But Buster Blader hated dragons.
"Too bad you dodged."
Gandora looked at him. Its voice was cold. "I heard what you said."
Stupid dragon.
"Come on then. Let me carve you up."
Buster Blader drew his sword.
"I will hang your armor on a mountain."
Gandora stepped forward. Its red crystals glowed.
Chase watched them. They reminded him of Natsu and Gajeel.
He could feel no real hostility. He left them alone.
"I am going to sleep. You two have fun," he said.
"Who wants to have fun with him?!" they both shouted.
"You are already in sync," Chase laughed.
"Shut up!" they shouted again.
"Master, I think we can make a fusion spell for them," Dark Magician Girl said.
"Maybe," Dark Magician said. He almost smiled.
Gandora could not take it. "Wait!"
It called out to Chase. "Take care of me."
Chase raised his fist. Gandora raised its own.
Their pact was made.
After Chase left, the others started fighting too.
Archfiend of Gilfer fought Summoned Demon. Celtic Guardian fought the Three Musketeers. Guardian of the Fortress fought Curse of Dragon.
Dark Magician of Chaos and Chaos Soldier prepared to fight.
Dark Magician Girl looked at her master.
"Since you asked."
"No! I did not!"
Then, a sound like breaking glass came from the sky.
Everyone looked up.
A crack appeared in the sky. The area of Slifer the Sky Dragon.
A claw broke through. Then a head. Then wings. Then a long body covered in lightning.
"He can come out now?!" Dark Magician Girl said.
"Our master has grown strong," Dark Magician said.
He had been through many battles. He had gained new cards. His magic had grown.
"Maybe Slifer came to say hello," Dark Magician said.
The great dragon looked down at them.
"Fighting? Sounds fun. Come at me, all of you."
"Another arrogant dragon. I like this place," Gandora said.
"He is not a dragon. He is a god," Buster Blader said.
"We will see."
Gandora was excited.
"Scared?" it asked Buster Blader.
"Me? Never."
They agreed to fight together later.
For now, they would fight Slifer.
Everyone was ready.
Outside, Chase lay on the sofa. He ignored the chaos inside.
He had asked Slifer to say hello. It was part of his plan.
Even now, he could only summon Slifer for a few seconds. With all his power.
But that was enough.
The fight in the capital should be over. I need to go back tomorrow.
He thought about the future.
He had been gone for two days. Without Erza Knightwalker, the royal army could not stop Natsu and the others.
And Lucy was stronger. She was at least low S-Class now. And they had Gildarts.
He wondered if Mystogan would do as he did in the original. Drain the magic from the kingdom.
He hoped not. He wanted to help Edolas grow.
