Chapter 346 - 346: You should be able to remember

Almost instantly, the stasis field burst like a punctured soap bubble.

Seeing this, Voldemort immediately unleashed a massive wave of Fiendfyre that swept across the entire dining hall, completely disregarding the safety of the Death Eaters.

Fortunately, this time the Fiendfyre was still firmly under his control. After flashing into existence for a brief moment, it quickly vanished. Along with it, Voldemort himself disappeared.

When Voldemort vanished, the Death Eaters who had been tightly surrounding the hall scattered like frightened birds. They fled the dining hall as fast as they could using all sorts of methods—Portkeys for some, broomsticks for others.

The former were much harder to deal with, but the latter were simple. All it took was a series of precise shots with Wither skulls.

"Kasen, you should have discussed this with us first," Dumbledore said in a deep voice.

Kasenhis, watching Voldemort escape, shrugged somewhat helplessly. "I almost killed him just now."

"You also almost killed yourself," Dumbledore said stiffly.

"Not really, not really. My life is very tough—literally tough, really." As he spoke, Kasen pulled out a bottle of pink healing potion and gulped it down.

"Hmm… it gives off an ominous feeling. Even I find it ominous. For a white wizard, you're really quite white," Grindelwald remarked while observing the corruption rift not far away.

"Ah, I'm sorry… but what exactly is this 'white wizard' supposed to mean?" Kasen asked after the burn on his chest had fully healed.

"As long as you're not a dark wizard, you're a white wizard." Grindelwald said this while pulling out his wand and poking at the corruption rift with it… which did absolutely nothing.

"How do we deal with this thing?" Dumbledore asked.

"There should be a way. Let me take a look." Kasen pulled out the Thaumonomicon and kept swiping left and right across the starry interface inside it…

"There are two methods right now. We can blow the rift up with paradox matter, or we can consume it using a void siphon," Kasen said dryly.

"Hmm…" Dumbledore nodded. "And then?"

"And then… I don't know how to do either of those." Kasen said awkwardly.

"You don't even know how, yet you made such a huge mess," Grindelwald said faintly.

"Originally, I planned to drag him down with me so we'd both die. If that happened, the rift would theoretically disappear once it lost my influence. But who knew… I didn't die." Kasen shrugged.

"Then can you learn those two methods?" Dumbledore asked.

"I… probably can." Kasenhis replied stiffly. As he spoke, he used New Magic Arts to conjure an even stronger stasis field, slowing the growth of the corruption rift.

"Did Draco send you here?" he asked after finishing.

"Very obviously, yes." Dumbledore nodded.

"Then let's head back first. As for this thing… we'll just… leave it… for now. Don't worry, I'll remember eventually." Kasen nodded as he pulled off the wreckage of the remaining mechanical arms behind him.

"Then let's go." Grindelwald nodded, but he still waved his wand and picked up the severed hand of you know who from the floor.

"The curse he once placed on the Defense Against the Dark Arts position was actually quite powerful. And now, it's my turn." As he spoke, Grindelwald used his wand to draw various obscure and incomprehensible symbols in the air. Voldemort's severed hand slowly melted into liquid and finally merged into the void, disappearing completely.

"Finished?" Kasen asked.

"Obviously." Dumbledore beckoned, and the flames of the phoenix Fawkes instantly wrapped around the three of them, transporting them back to the Alchemy office at Hogwarts.

At this moment, the Malfoy family was sitting obediently on the sofa. Professor McGonagall and Snape, seated opposite them, both let out a sigh of relief when they saw Kasen and the others return safely.

"Professor… your back?" Draco raised his hand timidly and asked.

"It seems I need to… uh… change my clothes." Kasen casually took out a mysterious robe from a chest, found a corner to change into it, and then walked back out.

"Professor, I meant your mechanical arms?" Draco asked.

"Oh, getting into a scuffle with Voldemort—taking a few injuries is normal, isn't it?" Kasen shrugged.

"Professor Kasen, we truly cannot thank you enough this time. We don't even know how to repay you," Mr. and Mrs. Malfoy both stood up and said sincerely.

"That's just what a professor should do. But didn't you already leave the country? How did Voldemort catch you again?" Kasen asked.

"It was Bellatrix Lestrange. She found me through bloodline divination," Narcissa Malfoy explained.

"Oh… will they be able to find you again?" Draco asked nervously.

"We're wearing protective charms now, so it won't happen again. And you should have one too," Narcissa said gently.

"I actually have one here. Saphir Lester gave it to me. I ran into him when I was working on my water engine thesis." Kasen walked behind his desk, took a rhombus-shaped charm out of a drawer, and tossed it to Draco.

Seeing this, Lucius Malfoy slowly put the charm in his pocket back where it had been. For the first time in so many years, he felt inferior when it came to external magical items.

After all, Saphir Lester's alchemical creations hadn't appeared on the market for more than fifty years, yet Kasenhis just happened to have one.

Envy. Real envy.

"So what do you plan to do now?"

"We were hiding in France before. This time we're planning to go to America. The Ministry of Magic there has very strong control over magical society. It shouldn't be easy for the Dark Lord and his people to slip in unnoticed," Lucius said helplessly, his beard unshaven. It was clear he had been through quite a lot recently.

"Then I wish you… uh… good luck." Kasen thought for a long time before finally forcing out this rather dry blessing.
