After seeing the Malfoy couple and Draco off, Dumbledore simply stationed himself in the Alchemy office. Kasen looked at Dumbledore, who was sticking to his office like a piece of stubborn plaster, completely baffled.
Dumbledore simply took out his wand and tapped it on Kasen's head. "Shouldn't you have forgotten about the pitch-black rift in Malfoy Manor by now?"
"Believe it or not, I really didn't forget." Kasen slowly took out the Thaumonomicon and began checking which option would be more convenient for him: paradox matter or the void siphon.
Soon, he roughly listed out both plans.
Emmm…
Paradox matter was the simpler one. Don't be fooled by the name sounding so grand—paradox this, matter that. In reality, it was nothing that impressive.
The other one, the void siphon, sounded very ordinary, almost like some normal machine.
But the former only required three simple researches, while the latter required finding a Crimson Portal.
And this wasn't the Minecraft world. Where the hell was he supposed to find a Crimson Portal?
So the choice was obvious.
Of the three basic researches needed for paradox matter, he had already unlocked Alchemy and Order before.
That left Entropy.
Unlocking it wasn't difficult either. Same story—sounds fancy, but it's actually pretty simple.
All he needed to do was look at things like flames and Wither skulls through his monocle, and that would do the trick.
Then he just had to combine the aspects of Entropy and Order together.
With a soft pop.
He suddenly felt something and pulled out the Thaumonomicon. Sure enough, the crafting recipe for paradox matter had already appeared on its pages.
The corner of his mouth curled into a Nike swoosh as he clicked into it…
What the hell is an Abyssal Shard?
Soon, he buried his head in the Thaumonomicon once again…
"Construct an Abyss Portal…"
Hmm, it should be another dimension, similar to the world of the dead, the Nether, or the End…
"Use… iron blocks?"
"Five by five…"
"Diamond blocks…"
Kasen looked at the instructions for building the portal and quickly recreated one exactly the same. Finally, he used his staff to transmute the diamond block in the very center of the portal.
Under normal circumstances, the entire portal should have turned into a black-purple vortex…
But it failed.
"I thought this would work…" Kasen muttered. Seeing the first attempt fail, he was about to activate the power of "I reckon," directly altering the fundamental rules of this world.
But at that very moment, he felt a strange sense of dread, as if the moment this "I reckon" power actually succeeded, something terrifying would descend upon him.
Maybe even a hundred or so warrior Kasens or something…
"Alright, alright… let's see if there's another method." Kasen quickly destroyed the portal prototype and buried his head back into the Thaumonomicon.
Soon he found an alternative method. This Abyssal Shard could actually be infused directly through the infusion altar!
"Oh yeah!"
Kasen jumped high off the sofa in excitement and hurried toward the infusion altar.
Then he shuffled back again.
"What the hell is corrupted blood?" he muttered in confusion, turning to look at Dumbledore. "Does the Hogwarts kitchen have any rotten blood?"
Dumbledore's expression turned awkward. "The name 'corrupted blood' sounds rather high-end and impressive. Are you sure simply finding rotten blood will work?"
"We've got to try, right? If there are dates, we knock the tree three times. And the book says corrupted blood is something produced inside corrupted lifeforms, so rotten blood should be more or less the same…" Kasen said with a grin.
Dumbledore stared at him in silence.
"Fine, I'll go myself. It's not like we're building an atomic bomb. Why be so serious about it!" Kasen ignored Dumbledore completely and headed to the Hogwarts kitchens. Squatting down, he casually grabbed a house-elf. "Excuse me, do you have any rotten blood here?"
The house-elf saw a professor squatting down and even using polite words like "excuse me." It was instantly terrified and trembling with respect. "Yes, Professor, we do! May I ask what you need it for?"
"Magic experiment. Could you fill a bottle for me?" Kasen took out a glass bottle and handed it to the house-elf.
Very quickly, the house-elf returned with the bottle.
"Professor, here is what you requested."
Kasen accepted the bottle with a smile. "Thank you." Then he Ender-teleported away.
The house-elf squinted happily and said to the companion beside it, "Professor Kasen is really very polite, isn't he?"
Meanwhile, back in his office, Kasen went straight to the infusion altar. He placed the rotten blood, one Ender Pearl, and four iron ingots onto the altar.
With a wave of his wand, he activated the infusion altar.
Dumbledore stood slightly behind him, watching the entire process. Only when he saw those three completely unrelated items finally turn into a void shard that looked ominous at first glance did he walk over.
"You've never taught the young wizards at Hogwarts this trick."
Kasen shrugged. "First, the raw materials are too rare. For example, Ender Pearls—only I have them. Second, it's dangerous. It's easy to cause explosions, and it can also create corruption rifts. And how do you know I haven't taught it to them?"
Dumbledore raised an eyebrow. "Who did you teach?"
"The Weasley twins. What do you think?" Kasen said, picking up the Abyssal Shard and turning to look at Dumbledore.
"Hmm… your judgment… forget it. If I say more, I might hurt your feelings. Aren't you afraid they'll get themselves expelled from Hogwarts while researching something like this?" Dumbledore said.
"Actually, that's exactly what they want. They've noticed that the property prices in Diagon Alley are getting lower and lower, so they're planning to take a year off as soon as possible and build up some starting capital," Kasen said with a smile.
"Not a bad idea. Molly won't agree."
"So they plan to get themselves suspended from Hogwarts directly. That way Mrs. Weasley won't have a choice but to accept it."
"Their courage is as great as ever," Dumbledore said with a sigh.
