Elara headed for the exit, and Elias followed before she asked.
His legs still fought him, but the movement penalty had become a problem he could bargain with. Short steps. Wall when available. No sudden turns. He hated that it worked.
They reached the front door before Oliver's voice cracked across the entry hall.
"Where are you taking him, Platoon Commander Cross?"
Elias turned. Oliver stood in the doorway to A Block with his jacket half buttoned and his hair out of place. He looked less angry than afraid, which made the anger in his voice harder to trust.
Elara faced him without stepping back. "Warden Commander Exaizer assigned my team to locate and capture two unregistered shard users on Tuiyaki Resort. Elias's Ikona may help us identify them before the rebel group does."
