Yui moved before Elias finished pointing.
The crowd slowed Elias more than the movement penalty did. Yui cut through clean gaps with the confidence of someone used to being obeyed. Elias followed by apologizing with his shoulders and trying not to clip tourists with the book bag.
By the time he reached the side door, Yui was already inside.
The hallway beyond was cooler and quieter. Staff doors lined one side. A service desk sat empty near a set of stairs. Yui had one hand on the white-coated man's cuff.
The man looked at Yui's grip, then at Yui's face, and seemed more irritated than afraid.
That reaction bothered Elias. Most civilians panicked when grabbed by a soldier in a private corridor. This man acted like delays were his only problem. His shoes were too clean for a resort doctor moving between emergency calls, and the black case never left his hand.
