The final chamber was empty except for a white circle at the center.
Elias stepped inside and waited for the room to insult him properly.
The floor lit. Thin lines crawled from the circle, climbed through the air, and built a second body in front of him one piece at a time. Feet. Legs. Torso. Shoulders. Face.
His face.
Dots made a small sound.
"That is worse than the mirrors because it looks like you slept better."
"I dislike that your first note is cosmetic."
The duplicate opened its eyes. No expression. No breathing that Elias could see. It stood with his posture, his reach, his tired stance, and the same ugly green training suit.
Text appeared above the door. Obstacle Twelve, Mirror Self. Defeat the replica. Pattern matching active.
Elias lifted his right hand, and the replica lifted its right hand. He shifted his weight to the left, and it shifted with him.
"This could get irritating before I learn anything useful," he said.
