While Priscilla and Russell remained on top of the tree, they kept their minds on high alert.
Suddenly, both of them looked downwards to where Gravilis lay.

Gravilis swiftly evaded three spiked attacks.

Gravilis stared furiously at a hideous creature. It had spikes, a hideous-looking face, and an abdomen.
Russell and Priscilla saw all this but chose to remain concealed.
They themselves were absolutely terrified and wondered what sort of creature that was, as it was their first time seeing such.
Even for Priscilla, who grew up in the wild lands.
"Should we go and help Gravilis out?" Russell sent a hand signal to Priscilla.
"Let's observe for now to gain insight into its fighting strength… at least let the beast test the waters. If it's truly in danger, let's swoop in," Priscilla replied.
"Okay," replied Russell.
Both of them continued to observe.

At this moment, Grand Commander Dufus stared at the screen, looking at the hideous creature.
"That couldn't be…" Zi Mou said.
"A miasma porcupine?" Lady Stacy blurted out.
"How exactly did that arrive at the outer region of the Ashwood Forest?" she asked.
"As much as I know, that creature doesn't leave the Bone Cradle Range in the depths of the forest," Lady Clare said.
"Now this is going to be a tough one for this drake," Master Rhoger Flintmane said.
"Well, not necessarily. Inasmuch as that creature is indeed Class 1 Lv 8 and a Rank D beast, Davi's pet isn't bad in itself… it recently evolved from Rank E to D. Right now, its strength should be equivalent to a Class 1 Lv 7 beast… plus its decay attribute, it might be able to pull off something," Grandmaster Cael from Craywood Institute said.
"Well, let's see," Archon Draith said as her lips curled up into a smile.

Davi suddenly heard a series of notifications.
Immediately, without even thinking, he replied…
"Yes!"
"Is this system crazy or something? It still needs my permission even when Gravilis is in trouble?" Davi thought, a bit shocked.
"Well… that aside, we have a bigger fish to focus on," a cold smile blossomed across Davi's face.
Currently, a strong smell of bloodlust assaulted his nose.
Davi's battle intent rose sharply. Without even needing to think, he knew that the alpha was about to make a move.

Almost like an invisible restriction placed on Gravilis was released.

The earth suddenly cracked.
Dang! Dang! Dang!
A massive hole suddenly appeared where the miasma porcupine stood.
Immediately, it lost its balance and fell.
A glint flashed past Priscilla's eyes as she saw this scene…
"This drake isn't as helpless as I thought," she said.
Russell grinned… a strong battle intent arose within him as he watched this scene.
It's best we remain hidden for now… let's see what my brother's pet is capable of, Russell thought as he watched on with even more enthusiasm.
The combat role that Gravilis had just used was the Terrain Modifier.
However, with just 6% of its power, and added to the fact that Gravilis was just a Class 1 Lv 7 beast, it was only able to open a small hole, making the miasma porcupine lose its balance.
Seeing this opportunity, it immediately dashed after the porcupine, attempting to use its tail to sting it.
As if the miasma porcupine could read the mind of Gravilis…

Immediately, dense miasma gas was released from the pores of its skin, forming a defensive layer.
Noticing this, it activated another combat role: Ambush Specialist, which was at a whopping 42%, along with the Wisp Veins skill.
Swoosh!
Gravilis' figure immediately sank underground, completely disappearing from sight.
Before the miasma porcupine could understand what was happening…
Bang!
Sting!!!
Gravilis approached the porcupine from underground and silently activated Rotfangs, which would inflict severe necrotic venom.
The stinger located at the tip of its tail lunged at the belly of the porcupine, which was exposed due to the fall.
Delivering a fatal blow.
Screech!!!
The porcupine let out a terrifying cry, and immediately it released its spines in a random burst, all coated with miasma, making them even more deadly.
Unfortunately, there was no one in sight.
But Gravilis wasn't done; it delivered two more fatal blows.
Activating the combat role of Terrain Modifier again, another hole appeared, blocking the escape of the porcupine.
Immediately, two more attacks laced with necrotic venom shot out from Gravilis towards the porcupine.
Instantly killing it.
The miasma porcupine let out an unwilling scream before it finally collapsed on the ground.
Dead!
Just at that moment…

Davi had just killed the last of the wolf minions when a series of notifications assaulted his mind.
He couldn't help but grin.
"Haha, Gravilis' first kill… you didn't disappoint me," Davi was ecstatic.
This greatly enhanced his battle intent. As if on cue, the fog that plagued Davi suddenly cleared.
After he condensed another drop of Asura Qi, he immediately tried to absorb it. However, this time, he didn't directly infuse it into his bones. Instead, he let it circulate through his skin, then slowly into his muscles, and finally his bones.
Boom!
An explosive power shot out from Davi as if he had been invigorated, and the Windcaller Staff immediately collided with the paws of the alpha.
Boom!
Davi was blasted off meters away until he hit a tree, vomiting blood from his mouth.
"Davi!" Gerald called out.
He was surprised to no end, especially the last part where Davi exploded with even more power.
Luckily, he was able to injure the paws of the alpha.
This shocked all of them… even the alpha. Clearly, none of them had anticipated such an attack.
The alpha squinted its eyes and let out a ferocious roar.
ROAR!!!
And immediately charged at them.

Meanwhile, up in the treetops, Russell couldn't contain the excitement anymore and burst into laughter.
"Did you see that?" he asked.
Receiving a nod of affirmation from Priscilla, he said…
"Damn! That's so cool…" Russell said as both of them descended from the treetops to where Gravilis was.
Gravilis had already known long ago that they were in the treetops, so it wasn't surprised.
Purr!
Gravilis purred in delight as it rubbed its body against Russell's palms.
"Good girl… haha… so do you know where your master is? Can you take us to him?" Russell asked.
Not long after, both Russell and Priscilla swished across the forest into its depths under the cover of night, heading toward Davi's location.
"I'm coming, brother… please be safe!" Russell thought.

"Haha… that drake has some skills," Archon Alzareth let out a pleasant laugh.
It wasn't every day you got to see young mages display their combat abilities.
"Indeed, even I am pleasantly surprised," Grandmaster Dufus commented.
"That said, in as much as they defeated the miasma porcupine, the situation isn't looking too good for your daughter," Grandmaster Cael said as he looked at the king.
His eyes darkened; however, he knew that was the truth… if not for the unexpected combat abilities displayed by Davi, his daughter might have already been severely injured, if not dead.
"Hoho, well, they might just be able to conquer that…" Archon Aureya Draith said sheepishly.
Just then, everyone turned to look at the screen… then they saw a team rapidly approaching.
Of course, it wasn't just any team, but Toffle Ruggard, who had cleared the illusion maze, laughing… as well as the leader of the Iron Hounds mercenary group among them.
"Interesting…" Old Man Frank said as he watched on.
