After several hours on the road, the city lights finally began to appear in the distance.
Mia, who had spent much of the journey silently looking out the window, gradually began to recognize the familiar streets.
The car slowed down.
A few seconds later, Fran stopped in front of Cid's house.
Mia unfastened her seat belt and turned toward him.
"Thank you so much, Fran. It was… a memorable evening."
Fran gave her a smile.
"The pleasure was all mine."
Mia opened the car door.
But just as she was about to get out, she stopped.
She looked at Fran for a few seconds.
Then, without warning, she leaned toward him and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek.
Fran remained completely still.
"Good night."
Mia got out of the car and gently closed the door.
She walked toward the house without looking back.
Fran, meanwhile, remained seated behind the steering wheel.
He slowly raised a hand to his cheek, right where Mia had just kissed him.
His eyes widened slightly.
Then a fond smile appeared on his face.
"This girl…"
He gently shook his head.
"She really is going to drive me crazy."
He finally started the car and disappeared into the night.
