Chapter 55 - Chapter 55

Chapter 55 Yoruha's sensory ability, dealing with the Sharingan!

================================================================================

And a lot of people didn't even qualify to attend the Ninja Academy.

The Ninja Academy only enrolled thirty students a year. You could imagine how many people weren't even qualified to get in.

But Naruto got in. Not only did he get in, with grades like his on every exam, he somehow still wasn't expelled.

Yoruha felt that if it were him, forget going dark—he'd be so thrilled he'd die happy.

But Sasuke had personally watched Itachi kill his parents. Itachi had even forced him to relive how every member of the Uchiha Clan was cut down one by one by his blade.

The fear, despair, and confusion on those clansmen's faces before death—each and every one of them was enough to make the six-year-old Sasuke break down over and over again.

Naruto hadn't personally seen Kurama kill his parents, but Sasuke had watched with his own eyes as Itachi slaughtered the clansmen who had cared for him in daily life.

That blood-red night—if it had been Yoruha, he probably would have gone to extremes long ago.

Kindness? After going through something like that, Yoruha felt that if it meant gaining the power to kill Itachi, it wouldn't matter how many people died.

After experiencing something like that, a person couldn't stay rational. At least, Yoruha knew he definitely couldn't have. There was no way he could have kept the kindness in his heart.

But Sasuke did.

He loved his family very much, and he loved his clan very much.

So he desperately sought power. Even knowing Orochimaru might take his body, he still went.

But while following Orochimaru, Sasuke never slaughtered innocents indiscriminately. Even when it came to shinobi who had nothing to do with him, he never killed wantonly.

Most importantly, he had been taught by Orochimaru, yet he still managed to keep that kind of character. That alone showed how kind he truly was deep down.

He just never had a mature person on the road of life to guide him.

Kakashi's way of thinking was mature enough, but he wasn't strong enough.

Before coming to this world, Yoruha had admired Naruto.

After coming here, the one he admired most was Sasuke.

Of course, Yoruha had no intention of meddling.

Just because he admired Sasuke didn't mean he would try to change the path Sasuke would walk in the future.

Life only had meaning when you experienced it yourself.

Only lessons you came to understand on your own could stay with you forever.

Seeing Yoruha like this, Kakashi patted him on the shoulder. "Now you know why Sasuke is the way he is, right?"

"But I still hope you can change him."

Yoruha froze and looked up at Kakashi.

His face was full of confusion. "Me?"

Kakashi nodded. "That's right. Back when I was drowning, it was my comrades who pulled me out."

"I hope you can do the same. And you're strong enough. Sasuke is a proud person. The same words coming from you and from Naruto would have completely different effects."

But Yoruha shook his head. "I'm willing to try, but I don't think interfering in Sasuke's choices is a good idea."

"Especially at this age. The more you interfere, the more rebellious he'll become."

"At most, you can only guide him. The more you try to interfere, the more he'll head in the opposite direction."

Kakashi sighed. "How could I not know that? It's just that I don't want him to stray down the wrong path. In order to gain power, he'll probably do a lot of things that violate the village's rules."

Yoruha said nothing.

Sasuke really would defect from Konohagakure in the future.

Yoruha just hadn't expected Kakashi to be thinking this way.

It seemed Kakashi really did understand Sasuke well.

Compared to Naruto, Kakashi truly paid more attention to Sasuke.

Yoruha could understand that too. After all, Kakashi's fighting style and ninjutsu style suited Sasuke much better.

And with Obito's influence, it was only natural that Kakashi would focus more on Sasuke.

Besides, Kakashi really didn't have much he could teach Naruto.

Before long, when the Chunin Exams came around, Jiraiya would return to the village.

Yoruha didn't believe for a second that Jiraiya's return was just a coincidence.

And there was no way Jiraiya would decide to personally train Naruto just because of a few casual words from him.

If some other shinobi went to Jiraiya and asked to learn ninjutsu from him, with Jiraiya's personality, he'd probably just tell them to get lost.

So Jiraiya returning during the Chunin Exams was really because he knew Naruto had graduated from the Ninja Academy and had come back to take him on personally.

Was Kakashi really going to refuse to hand him over?

Looking at Kakashi's worried expression, Yoruha smiled. "Kakashi-sensei, you're overthinking it."

"With Sasuke's personality, even if he does something in the future that violates Konohagakure's rules, he still won't do anything truly heinous."

"His personality is actually pretty normal."

Kakashi said helplessly, "I hope so too."

"Speaking of Sasuke, I still need to teach you how to deal with the Sharingan."

"Aside from copying ninjutsu, the most important thing about the Sharingan is that it can cast Genjutsu."

"That's extremely important. Even if your ninjutsu is strong, if you don't know how to deal with Genjutsu, it's very easy to get overturned by a dirty trick."

Yoruha nodded, very much agreeing with Kakashi.

"That's true. It's just that Genjutsu is really hard to guard against, especially Genjutsu cast through the Sharingan."

Genjutsu cast through the Sharingan was different from ordinary Genjutsu.

He knew very well how Kurenai, an expert in Genjutsu, had been instantly turned around and defeated by Itachi.

Even if Kurenai had looked awful in that Genjutsu battle with Itachi, among the Jonin, her Genjutsu was already the strongest. After all, she had advanced to Jonin through Genjutsu.

And she wasn't a Special Jonin either, but a full Jonin like Kakashi, Asuma, and Guy.

That alone showed her strength couldn't possibly be poor, especially since Genjutsu was her primary style of combat.

And yet even a Genjutsu specialist like that had the entire situation reversed by Itachi in just an instant.

That battle didn't just show Itachi's mastery of Genjutsu. More importantly, it showed that the Sharingan's abilities were simply absurdly overpowered.

And it wasn't just Itachi. The Sharingan had always been a headache throughout the shinobi world.

It had forced many hidden villages to specifically research ways to deal with the Sharingan.

That showed just how wary shinobi throughout the world were of the Sharingan, and how powerful it truly was.

Yoruha's Chakra was enormous, and in terms of pure combat ninjutsu, he had already mastered three techniques with S-rank destructive power.

If it came to a direct frontal clash, Yoruha wasn't afraid of most Jonin at all.

But the Sharingan could turn all of Yoruha's combat power into nothing with a single glance.

Just one glance.

No matter how powerful a technique was, you still had to be able to use it and hit the target.

Kakashi said, "It's not as if there's no way around it. Over the years, the shinobi world has come up with plenty of methods for dealing with the Sharingan."

"It's just that a lot of them aren't very practical."

"But you have one natural advantage—your sensory ability is extremely strong."

Yoruha paused. "You mean I should close my eyes when facing the Sharingan and fight using my senses?"

Kakashi nodded. "Exactly. For other shinobi, that might be very hard to master."

"But I know how strong your sensory ability is. It's so strong it can already replace sight."

"And it's even on the level of the Sharingan's dynamic vision."

"Just like when you use Chidori—moving at that speed, yet still accurately striking the target."

"Only you have that kind of ability. Even I can't do it."
