Chapter 13 - Chapter 13 - Hard Work

Third person POV

Basilio was astonished at their diversion to satisfy their urges, and he thought, "This is sublimation." He knew that from a few Wikipedia articles on psychology out of personal interest and curiosity in his past life. By that time, the Vamzoms are now done with their habit of satisfying their impulses and then cleaned up their mess, much to Basilio's surprise. "And we also learned to clean up our own mess after we were done with it," Helena responded back positively. With that, Basilio approached the scene, catching the attention of the cleaning Vamzoms. Their combat helicopters are on the ground as well. "Oh! Sir!" one of the Vamzoms responded back to him upon seeing his presence.

"So, how's your training session?" Basilio asked back brightly.

"It's fine, sir, we felt better every time after that."

Basilio then smiled. "I am happy to hear that."

The Vamzoms were happy to hear that, feeling being appreciated by their new, human-Otherworlder leader.

After that, Basilio and his subordinates are having a lunch at the headquarters. Helena, alongside another Vamzom who was a cook, cooked the entire meal for lunch. The food consisted of roasted mutton, some vegetables, and whole wheat bread. Helena, a young woman with red, long hair and red blood eyes, looked at Basilio eating his food, being eager to hear his feedback on her cooking. "What do you think, sir?"

All Vamzoms are known and can be identified by their distinctive red eyes, which was red like human blood.

"It's very good, so good actually…" Basilio said to her back while looking at her for a few moments, "…thanks for the food."

Helena and the cook were happy to hear that, and the others at the table were also happy, too.

Basilio poured some blood, that is, pig's blood, into his drink, mixed it, and drank it to satisfy his occasional thirst for blood.

After lunch, Basilio and his subordinates continued their administrative work, making more reforms and changes under Basilio's direction. Basilio also started to watch videos on systems, from how-tos in agriculture to the system of sectors of the countries back on Earth, using a platform called Sekai Stream. It is an Isekai System-made and run video platform that has a wide array of videos, especially those from popular video streaming platforms back on Earth. These also included videos and other media that had been deleted and pulled off the shelves from these streaming platforms. Basilio, who had recently made an account on Sekai Stream, was astonished that these discarded videos and other media like TV shows and movies were given another chance to shine in this new platform. In general, he was happy and stunned to see most of his favorite videos reappearing like magic, remarking, "These videos had been isekai'd!"

The videos he watched were all helpful and excluded all funny videos for most of the time. The only time to watch funny videos was at night for 1 hour per night. The watching time in his gadgets only had a daily time limit of 3 hours. This gives Basilio focus on his time for his work as the leader, as well time for other things off the screen. The only time to watch funny videos was at night for 1 hour per night. It seemed that the Isekai System and Sekai Stream had placed a watching time limit for him not to get addicted to watching on his screen.

The next morning, he drafted a Philippine-style constitution that introduces Filipino values like chances in life and equality (based on modern and precolonial Philippine histories). It was now known as the Forest Vamzom Constitution.

The first three articles are as follows:

Article 1: On Equality of Everyone Regardless of Race, Ethnicity, and Socioeconomic

Article 2: On the Rights of Those who Wanted Another Chances in Life after Failures or Darkness in Their Histories

Article 3: On the Freedom of Social Mobility and Movement and Flexibility of Careers and Livelihoods

After that, one of his recent reforms was to introduce agriculture into their territory, proposing wheat, potatoes, and barley first before the other crops like tomatoes. This means trees surrounding the Blood Fortress had to be cut down to make way for farming fields. But the Vamzoms were willing to do so for food and to do something productive other than war stuff and fighting. And so, the program of making the farm fields began on Basilio's 6th day of his life as the leader of the Vamzoms. Once the trees had been cut down and the lands had been cleared, some of the Vamzoms started cultivating the soil and planted seeds on them. Basilio also commissioned an irrigation system to irrigate the crops. The water source was from a nearby river known as the Vertskhi River. The program lasted for a week, and it was full of hard work. Fritzi and his party were surprised but were amazed by the modernization efforts by Basilio.

The Vamzoms' Blood Fortress resembled Turkey's Topkapı Palace, but it had more gardens and less wing buildings. The Blood Fortress, renamed as the Sentro ng Központ Palace by Basilio after 1 hour of deciding names with a Google Translate on his laptop. Around the perimeter of the SKP and within the 600-year-old stone walls, lay a village for serfs and stone walls surrounding it. The homes had a diverse range of architecture styles: Romanesque, Ottoman, Neoclassical, Medieval European wooden townhouses, Andalusian, Gothic, and Almohad. The diverse architecture styles were a dream for Basilio, who despised Brutalist architecture back in his past life and loved the traditional ones. These buildings were made and added over the centuries by his Vamzom predecessors for the Forest Vamzom populations

As for the SKP of this type of Vamzoms (there are 5 types of them in this world: Forest, Snow, Island, Desert, and Jungle), other than having a meticulous layout of the Ottoman sultan's residence, the building had arches from Andalusian buildings like the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba and Venetian buildings from Venice, Italy. The tiles bored resemblance of the Ottoman and Almohad culture, while the big and main courtyard had gardens and a big fountain in the center. On the north wing, there were communal baths for everyone in the palace to enjoy after a hard day at work, plus a big dining hall flanked by Andalusian arches. On the south side, there was the Chamber of the Deities, a hall filled with stained glasses of the deities of this world, including Marcko, the god of war, and Haiteku, the god of tech. Anyone can visit the place at any time, and the mahogany doors had no locks, believing that one should not be restricted from visiting the place at any time.

Down to the west side, there was a massive chamber that was a huge library with two floors and many bookshelves. The majority of the books were stolen from victims. But by now, most of them had been retained since their owners had moved on in life without them, and a fraction of others was returned to their owners. These books covered a wide range of topics, from history to even most Earth languages and knowledge.

In addition to walled, communal area of the SKP, there were small, scattered settlements of tightly-knit villages of Vamzoms and Hybrid Vamzoms, who were people of Vamzom blood and blood of other races like humans and elves, dotted away from the walls of the fortress. These settlements are called Banditos (banished in Italian), and these settlements, typically but not always, were tucked away from sight, were tightly knitted, and were largely self-sufficient with farms and even small workshops for handcrafted products. The primary residents are Full-Blooded Vamzoms who were banished by their groups for breaking their code of conduct, more frequently, having children with non-Vamzoms, as well as their Hybrid children and non-Vamzom spouses (by secret marriages) or partners (not a legitimate marriage). Typically, but not always, non-Vamzoms would go out for work while their Vamzom partners would take care of things at home and take care of their Hybrid children. More frequently, the Hybrid children were civilized and human-like in manner and behaviour, while their Vamzom parents struggled more or less to fit into human society. Banditos are everywhere near the countries of Vamzoms, which were five.

But before he took his own life, Ruslan had reconciled with his banished Vamzom comrades and annulled their charges of misconduct and illegal marriage with non-Vamzoms and even allowed their potential return to their group at any time.
