Chapter 18 - Chapter 18 - Chivo, an Unwanted Adventurer

Third person POV

A few months later, everything seemed to be good for Ruslav. Pantano also signed a trade agreement with it that delivers a normal number of goods to the fortress' perimeters. The deliveries were done by helicopters, animal wagons, and a few magic-powered modern vehicles and came every few days to once or twice a week through the newly repaired paved roads to the SKP, and to the surrounding banditos. Basilio and a few Vamzom infrastructure engineers had been spending the last month planning and making the road system to every bandito as possible, and the payment for the workers are always food for all workers and pig's blood for the Vamzom ones. As a result, trade became a thing in Ruslav, and most of the Vamzoms had better things than the ones they made locally and sold their local products in exchange.

The most common things they made and sold are:

Woven baskets

Leather tunics and scabbards for blades

Food

Ceramics with the patterns belonging to their local Forest Vamzom culture.

Basilio was positive that his country benefited economically with the trade being exchanged by selling the surplus of their food like grains and vegetables. At the same time, Chivo had been acting and unofficially serving as its unofficial diplomat to Pantano. Even so, the duke of Dimwell and member of the Assembly of Elders, Ambroos Fyodorov, travelled from Dimwell's capital, Sárga Madár, to Ruslav's main district to meet up with Basilio, with Chivo as his unofficial emissary. In their meeting, Basilio gave out his greetings to the red ginger-haired, tall Duke of Dimwell and his son, a seemingly Hybrid Vamzom (at least from Basilio's perspective) named Benjamín, and Ambroos gave his in return, before sitting down on wooden chairs opposite from each other and with a wooden table in between. Benjamín had a special bracelet that kept his Vamzom powers under control. Now Basilio knew about 3 types of Vamzoms:

Full-blooded Vamzoms- full, aristocratic-style Vamzoms

Hybrid Vamzoms - Vamzoms of mixed blood of both Vamzom and non-Vamzom

Partial Vamzoms - those non-Vamzoms who were experimented and/or bitten to be Vamzoms

The first part of their meeting was full of exchanges of compliments to each other about their political divisions' progress and stability. After that, Ambroos revealed to Basilio about Chivo's recent history, and it wasn't pretty. According to him, Chivo only had an education from a public school, which was a thing in this world since Otherworlders, mostly teachers and current and former students, introduced that concept over 200 years ago, and had barely any formal training, and, according to Ambroos, he had undiscovered abilities. Basilio was stunned that this concept of public education now existed in this world.

And thus, according to him and his son, Chivo was considered an unwanted adventurer after being kicked out by his previous party, the Wolken Party. Because of that, Basilio thinks that it was quite stupid and injustice and decided to give Chivo training out of kindness later.

"I'm going to play ball with them," Basilio said to Ambroos, "so I'll do just that for Chivo-kun."

Ambroos nodded in agreement and even promised to keep a secret from the said party for their sake. Benjamín gave a non-smug smirk on the karma against the Wolken Party.

At this point, Chivo's level and rank are now, thanks to being an emissary and diplomat to Ruslav, at Level 9 and C-ranked.
