"Did you buy a weapon?" Jiang Shengjun shifted the conversation toward the weapon sales system of Origin Mall.
"Mm." Bu Shiyi nodded lightly.
With a graceful motion, her slender fingers brushed across the space ring. In a flash of light, a sleek, elegant sword—Qiushui—appeared in her hand.
Qiushui was a weapon as delicate and refined as the woman who wielded it, gleaming with a cold elegance that hinted at its lethality.
Jiang Shengjun stared for a moment, captivated by the sight. Realizing he'd gone silent too long, he coughed awkwardly and forced a smile. "It's beautiful... very fitting for you."
Bu Shiyi retracted Qiushui and pointed to a pattern glowing faintly on the wall. "The weapon sales area is through there. Go ahead, take a look."
Jiang Shengjun nodded, not daring to linger. He walked toward the space she'd indicated.
Passing through an invisible barrier that offered slight resistance, he stepped into a completely unfamiliar dimension.
Before him stood a towering translucent light screen, floating in mid-air. The scale and design of it were awe-inspiring.
"Of course, it's the boss's handiwork," Jiang Shengjun muttered, eyes wide. "Such a grand setup…"
Though only at the Fatebound Ascension realm, he could faintly grasp the sheer difficulty of constructing such a space. But he hadn't come just to admire—he had a purpose.
He was here to buy weapons.
Unlike most customers of Origin Mall who stuck with conventional spiritual armaments, Jiang Shengjun had a streak of curiosity and a thirst for exploration.
In the Tower of Trials, where others relied on typical enchanted blades and bows, Jiang Shengjun had gone off the beaten path, digging through obscure corners in search of the strange and unknown.
And it had paid off.
That was when he first stumbled across something called a naval gun—a weapon so devastating, its power rivaled cultivators at the Origin Mastery or even Pathseeker level.
Even more astonishing was that it had no requirement for cultivation base.
Just point and shoot.
The realization had left him reeling.
So, what were these "technological weapons"? Were they connected to the strange concepts the boss had brought up before?
Why does water always flow downhill?
Why do two objects of different weights fall at the same speed?
Questions that, so far, no customer in the mall had answered.
He shook his head, pushing the messy thoughts aside and focusing on the glowing interface before him.
He was no stranger to this kind of light screen—it resembled the ones used in the Tower of Trials.
His heart thudded with excitement as he typed the name of the weapon he remembered so clearly into the interface: individual-use naval gun.
The anticipation was electric. If he could get one, he'd possess power far beyond his current realm.
Sure, it was a foreign object. But in a real battle, who cared?
Victory was victory—no one asked how you achieved it, only that you did.
As he watched the screen process the request, his breath caught in his throat.
A message popped up:
Query failed. Weapon does not exist in the database.
"…What?"
Jiang Shengjun blinked, then rubbed his eyes, hoping he had read it wrong.
"Impossible! I remember it clearly—that's the name!"
He retyped it, double-checked for spelling errors.
Still nothing.
His hopeful expression froze in place, now twisted with disbelief.
