Three days later, Qin Yi crossed the desert. His blood-red eyes flickered with a cold glint as he could finally see, in the distance, that large palace.
Las Noches… he was no longer far from it.
Along the way, he had advanced by stepping over the corpses of countless Gillian-class Great Hollows, gaining a deeper understanding of both his own strength and the Zanpakutō in his hand.
By the time he reached this point, an even more audacious idea had taken root in his mind.
"Control all of Hueco Mundo! Let this place become the first hell of my Divine Nation!"
Compared to Soul Society, where souls retained awareness and could reincarnate, Hueco Mundo was far inferior. But even so, it could still serve as an indispensable part of the Divine Nation's cycle.
"With my current ability… If I storm Las Noches and kill the Hollow King, Baraggan…"
A glint flashed in Qin Yi's eyes as he grinned, killing intent surfacing. If he slew the current Hollow King, or subdued him, this vast sky would belong to Qin Yi.
He lifted his foot and strode forward, moving quickly.
The destination was already close. To him, success seemed within reach.
Under the pale white sky, fierce winds howled as sand lashed against him, yet Qin Yi didn't even blink.
Though Las Noches looked near, the journey was still long.
After another three thousand meters, Qin Yi suddenly stopped. His crimson eyes narrowed slightly, and a grin spread across his face.
"Come out. I can smell your stench from half a kilometer away." With a cold sneer, Qin Yi called out.
"To be able to notice me… you Shinigami have some skill." Accompanied by the crunching of sand underfoot, a savage voice reached Qin Yi's ears.
"I was going to ignore you, but I didn't expect you'd actually dare to show yourself." Qin Yi turned around, his blood-red pupils tightening as a fierce aura burst from his gaze.
"Big words. But Shinigami, you'll soon die beneath my claws!" What came into view was a muscular, powerfully built leopard. Its limbs were taut with strength, hooked claws extending from its paws, and its face was covered in scars.
"Grimmjow!" Qin Yi's eyes sharpened, and he broke into a grin.
He had sensed someone nearby but hadn't known who it was. Now that he saw him, he felt a trace of surprise, but the battle-hungry instinct in his bones began to boil. Perhaps after evolving into the body of the King of Hell, the wildness within him had been unleashed, making him even more eager for combat.
"I didn't expect prey like you to appear in Hueco Mundo. You must taste quite good."
At this moment, Grimmjow had not yet become an Arrancar. His form remained that of a leopard, his level somewhere between a Gillian and an Adjuchas.
"A rebellious beast like you… would be quite fun to keep as a subordinate."
Qin Yi grinned as he slowly drew the King of Hell from his waist. Black and red light began to flicker around him, intertwining rapidly and radiating an ominous aura.
"Dream on!"
Grimmjow's eyes turned cold as his limbs burst into motion, sprinting across the desert.
His body was agile, his speed reaching its peak in an instant, becoming a streak of light in the blink of an eye.
"Die!"
Grimmjow roared like a leopard, baring his fangs.
But Qin Yi merely smiled, his crimson eyes gleaming with chilling intent.
"Nether Wave!"
Black and red light rapidly condensed into a sphere, which then shot straight toward Grimmjow.
Grimmjow's pupils shrank as he swiftly dodged the incoming attack.
However, as the sphere brushed past his ear, it suddenly burst open, black and red threads shooting out in an instant, piercing straight through both of his ears.
"What is this?!" Grimmjow was shocked. In the next moment, as cold wind howled past, his ears exploded instantly, and the blast sent his entire body flying nearly thirty meters across the desert, kicking up a storm of sand before he finally came to a stop.
"With your current ability, you're still far from being qualified to fight me, Grimmjow!"
The fierce wind howled in front of him. Grimmjow lifted his head and met Qin Yi's blood-red eyes, his heart trembling at the sight.
"That aura… of a Hollow! You… you're a Hollow too?!" Grimmjow spoke in disbelief, filled with shock.
He had never seen a Hollow with a human form. How could such a being even be described?
"A Hollow?" Qin Yi grinned, looking down at him.
"I'd rather you call me… the King of Hell."
As the words "King of Hell" left his lips, Qin Yi slowly raised his hand. Black and red light gathered between his fingers, rapidly forming into a sphere.
"Cero!!"
Grimmjow's eyes widened as he quickly flipped up and landed in the desert.
"Whoosh!"
In an instant, the Cero had already erupted forward, appearing right before him.
"Cero!"
By instinct, Grimmjow opened his mouth and fired his own Cero, colliding head-on with the incoming blast.
"Boom!"
A dark explosion burst outward. Amid the flying الرمال, Grimmjow's body was blasted away once again, sent flying far into the distance.
"Too… too strong!"
Lying in the desert, Grimmjow was shaken to his core.
He had never encountered such a powerful opponent. Even that one figure he had once been unable to defeat couldn't compare to the enemy before him.
"The gap between us… is far too great, Grimmjow!"
"You dared to provoke me? You probably don't even realize, you're provoking the king of this world!"
The voice echoed from afar, closing the distance in an instant. In the blink of an eye, those blood-red eyes appeared before Grimmjow once again.
"Who… are you?"
Grinding his teeth, Grimmjow forced himself up, staring at Qin Yi as he demanded.
"Who am I?"
"Just call me… the King of Hell."
Qin Yi replied indifferently. With a flick of his Zanpakutō, he struck Grimmjow across the neck.
Grimmjow's body trembled, then went still.
"The victor is king; the loser is prey. I've lost to you, kill me."
Closing his eyes, Grimmjow awaited death.
"For daring to offend me, killing you a hundred, no, a thousand times, wouldn't be excessive. But that clumsy little display of yours just now… amused me a bit." Qin Yi spoke calmly. His Zanpakutō trembled slightly, drawing a thin line of blood across Grimmjow's neck.
"Submit to me. Become the blade in my hand. I can spare your life, and even allow you to break past your current limits, to become a supreme existence."
Those calm words made Grimmjow's entire body tremble. He looked at Qin Yi in shock.
In Hueco Mundo, only the law of beasts ruled, survival of the fittest. There was no mercy, no such thing as sparing an enemy. Qin Yi's behavior surprised him. And more than that, this man claimed he could help him break through his limits.
Was that even possible?
Slowly standing up, Grimmjow took a deep breath and looked at Qin Yi.
"Become the blade in your hand?"
"I can accept defeat and follow your orders! But you're saying… You can help me break through?"
Qin Yi's crimson eyes gleamed with cold sharpness.
"I can make you an Adjuchas, and grant you the destiny to walk the path toward becoming a Vasto Lorde."
Grimmjow's pupils shrank.
"No need to thank me. I simply want the blade in my hand… to become sharper."
As he finished speaking, the King of Hell in Qin Yi's hand released a surge of black and red light, rapidly enveloping Grimmjow within it.
