Chapter 422 - Giant Mech

Just as Beyond was about to reply, something unexpected happened. A massive space portal suddenly opened up above the battlefield, and a huge figure plummeted through it.

The heavy creature crashed down onto the black shock rock below with a deafening thud, making the ground shake. Everyone's eyes widened as they took in the sight: it was an enormous robot, strikingly similar to a Gundam.

Its glossy white armor gleamed under the sun, reflecting a metallic shine everywhere. The design was impressive, not only did it resemble a Gundam, but the head had a distinct cat-like style, complete with a gold coin emblem stamped on its forehead.

The massive robot standing before them was the creation of Meowth, who had fittingly named it "Meowth No. 1." The name hinted that this was just the beginning, there would likely be a No. 2, No. 3, and so on in the future.

This towering machine was even bigger than the Stone Giant. Beneath its thick armored she'll, it was packed with cutting-edge technology, missiles, armor-piercing shells, lasers, and even hypnotic bombs.

It was clear that Meowth had poured all its knowledge of advanced weaponry into this robot, pushing innovation to new heights. To anyone unfamiliar with things like "Gundam," this creation would seem nothing short of a fantasy.

Among the onlookers, Golem understood best what "Meowth No. 1" represented. Having worn robotic armor himself for a long time, he knew how challenging it was to build something so colossal.

Before today, he hadn't imagined a robot of this scale even existed in the world. As for who had built it, Grem couldn't help but glance at the robot's distinctive cat-shaped head and quietly marvel, "Who would believe it?

A cat is actually an technician who's changed the game?" Grem wasn't alone in his shock; everyone else was just as surprised.

"Your cat made this too?!"

"A giant robot?"

Ging's mouth twitched nervously as he watched the number of giants on the field increase from three to four. He realized he had seriously underestimated Larry, the cat beast.

What Ging didn't know yet was that even more surprises were still to come.

"Yes, it was made by Meowth," came a clear, cheerful voice from the robot itself.

"You don't have to worry about anything; I can handle almost everything on my own."

At that moment, Meowth was perched at the robot's head, which served as the control center. Inside the cockpit, the design matched the robot's sleek style, with multiple screens providing a full, unobstructed view of the outside world.

Meowth sat surrounded by a "en" of control consoles, each one covered with an array of buttons and joysticks. Its task was to pilot Meowth No. 1, a giant robot.

This was a perfect chance to test the robot's capabilities and see if all the hard work put into building it met the mark. Though no one had actually seen Meowth in person, the tone in its voice made everyone feel as if the little cat beast was right there, confidently patting its chest and making a promise.

After spending so much time together, the team had grown familiar with Meowth, the talking cat who walked on two legs, and they all adored this cute creature, almost like their team mascot. Sometimes it joined the group on missions outside, and other times it stayed behind, tinkering with inventions in space.

Despite knowing Meowth had created many powerful devices, seeing this massive robot up close still left everyone in awe. As the team marveled, Meowth faced the towering stone giants.

Larry's mind began to work, sending out invisible waves that spread quietly around the area. Almost immediately, the surrounding movements slowed down, and even the loud sounds of battle couldn't travel far.

This was Larry's plan after studying the information in the illustration: these three stone giants were just the lowest level of stone giants. There could be more nearby, or perhaps this rocky land was their home.

To avoid alerting any other enemies, Larry decided to have Marshadow take charge of controlling the fight in the area. Marshadow moved quickly, setting everything up before Meowth even engaged.

The battle that followed shook the ground. The three stone giants charged at Meowth No. 1 together, their massive rocky fists swinging in powerful punches.

Their sheer size stirred up the air, creating gusts of wind that whipped around the battlefield. The space near their punches was especially dangerous, anyone close risked not just being hit by the fists, but being torn apart by the hurricane-like winds alone.

Despite their towering height, the giants moved with surprising agility. They weren't just clumsy rock creatures; their movements were surprisingly human-like and quick, making them even more formidable opponents.

As the three giants launched their simultaneous attack, Meowth sat calmly in the control room, his expression unchanged but his excitement growing. This was his first real battle, and he was determined to perform well and not disappoint his master.

Scanner analysis revealed a round object located at the center of each giant's torso, and the thermal imager showed it to be the hottest spot on their bodies, radiating powerful aura. Meowth was convinced this round object was the core of the Stone Giants, essentially their heart.

Now that the key target was identified, the plan was clear: break through their defenses. With that, Meowth's hands flew over the console, creating a blur of movement as he executed a complex sequence of commands.

The rapid clicking of the keys filled the room, overlapping into an almost indistinguishable sound. Outside, the giants' massive fists were closing in fast.

"Bang!"

The three powerful punches struck the barrier shielding Meowth No. 1 with perfect precision, witnessed by the tense and anxious eyes of Miru and the others. Just as the fists were about to smash into the robot, a silver-white barrier suddenly appeared around it, blocking the attacks effortlessly.

Meowth No. 1 relied heavily on advanced weaponry for offense, but its defense depended on specialized tools. Metals strong enough to withstand S-level attacks were practically nonexistent across the six continents, so Meowth had to compensate by using these tools strategically.

The silver-white barrier was generated by the Guardian Necklace, a magical item Larry had obtained from the Hunter Association. The Guardian Necklace creates an invisible shield with a two-meter radius around the wearer, protecting them from external attacks and dangers.

However, it must be worn around the neck and mentally activated to function. In Meowth No. 1's case, the necklace had been integrated into the robot's system, automatically activating its protective shield when an enemy attack was detected.

This integration also significantly reduced the aura consumption, some of which was replaced by the robot's electricity supply, effectively creating an electronic barrier. Despite the three magical tools Larry had retrieved from the Association, none offered protection comparable to the Guardian Necklace.

Since he became president, he naturally had the right to use the association's resources.
