Cough! Cough!
I leaned forward, pressing a hand against my mouth.
The coughing stopped after a little while.
But it was only for a short moment as it soon started again.
Cough!
My chest hurt.
So did my throat.
I reached towards the cup beside the bed and took a small sip, although it didn't help as much as I hoped. The water felt cold going down.
Beyond the glass, someone hurried past the monitors.
Another person followed.
I watched them speak to the people sitting outside, but it was becoming difficult to focus on their faces. Every time I thought I could make out an expression, my vision would blur a little.
"….."
I lowered the cup.
My reflection appeared faintly against the glass.
I was a mess. My hair was messy, and my face looked abnormally pale. I looked at it for a moment before rubbing beneath my eyes.
'Not looking particularly good.'
Even ghosts looked less pale than me.
I leaned back a little and closed my eyes.
Tik! Tik!
