The silence seemed to last for a very long time. And yet, not even a couple of seconds had passed since Seth's words reached the ears of all those present.
Venn kept his lips shut, his brows drawing together as he looked at Seth, waiting for him to say something else.
But nothing else came.
Seth remained seated on the bed, the same smile resting on his pale face.
Behind Venn, one of the observers slowly lowered his hand from the keyboard.
"Your turn…? Is that what you said?"
"That's right."
Seth nodded.
"….."
The silence intensified.
Venn glanced towards the radio before returning his attention to Seth. For a moment, he looked as though he wanted to ask another question.
Instead, he sighed.
"This isn't the time to be joking, Seth."
He was quite familiar with him by now.
Half the things that came out of Seth's mouth were nonsense. Sometimes, he said things simply to get a reaction. Other times, he seemed perfectly content to say them to himself.
