Vanessa's eyes scanned me from top to the bottom, curling her lips in utter disgust. "What are you wearing?"
"It's innovative?" I supplied, and she sighed.
I had come out of Kai's room, Kai behind me. "Alpha Malachai, why is she in your room at this time of the day? Aren't you both supposed to be preoccupied with your duties?" She bamboozled us with questions, and my head spun from the interrogation.
Kai stepped in, "Vanessa, we were just taking a stroll when one of the sprinklers went off and she got soaked. I quickly rushed her to the packhouse, and the closest room was mine. She was so eager to get back to work that she changed into this. I told her it wasn't appropriate, but who can stop Decker-Chloe when she sets her mind on something." I gritted my teeth at his half-assed explanation. He said it so seriously that the suspicion in Vanessa's eyes dissipated.
