"So," Noah said slowly, "you were unlucky enough to lose your ring, nearly died because of it, then gained the approval of the red Cloak, and finally defeated that female sorceress?"
"Yes, Mentor."
Noah's mouth twitched.
He really hadn't expected Kaecilius's apprentice to be this unlucky-and this fortunate.
Unlucky, because just like the original course of events, Strange had been attacked by Kaecilius's followers and lost the protective ring Noah had given him.
Fortunate, because also just like before, he survived the crisis and earned the recognition of the Cloak of Levitation.
Honestly, this guy really did feel like a "chosen one."
The one who attacked him wasn't Kaecilius himself with a group of disciples, but a single, fairly capable sorceress.
Noah still didn't know why that woman chose to target Strange.
But it didn't matter.
Because of that attack, Strange obtained the red Cloak.
From the result alone, everything had gone smoothly.
"However," Noah continued, tilting his head, "as a sorcerer, instead of going to St. Mungo's, you insisted on wasting mana to fly all the way back to America?"
His gaze shifted to the slightly flustered Christine Palmer.
Then Noah smiled.
"Oh. I see."
"Mentor," Strange immediately said, "it's not what you think."
"Alright, Sherlock." Noah cut him off, then glanced at Everett as well.
"Cherish the person in front of you. Don't wait until you lose them to feel regret."
He paused.
"By the way, Watson. Your recent stories are good. I like them."
"Thank you, Your Excellency," Everett said with a grin.
Looking at Strange and the female doctor, Everett felt the pairing was interesting.
At this point, Everett had more or less figured out "Sherlock Holmes's" real identity.
It wasn't hard.
But he had no intention of exposing it.
He liked his current life.
He liked everything as it was.
He was no longer a CIA agent.
He didn't need to care about those things anymore.
And he preferred to keep the name John Watson.
This life suited him.
"Are they lovers?"
Adam, sitting nearby, rubbed his head and asked casually.
He had already put down the ice pack.
On the day Nicole attacked, the werewolf-whose memories Strange had erased-had been in a room downstairs.
He was lucky.
He'd only been knocked unconscious by the energy released during the fight.
Since the sorceress's sole target was Strange, Adam had been unharmed.
"Do you really need to ask?" Everett shrugged.
"It's obvious."
"I wish them well," Adam laughed.
"Do we need extra food tonight? Tuna? Fresh beef?"
"You handle it," Everett said, patting Adam's shoulder.
"Do you have enough money? If not, I can give you more."
"No, no, no," Adam refused immediately.
"You've already done too much for me. I haven't done anything to deserve it."
"I'm really grateful. Truly."
Noah watched the scene and sighed quietly.
To be honest, he didn't entirely agree with Strange's handling of the situation.
Adam Lester had his own reasons for wanting to die.
The man truly had nothing left.
Erasing all his memories was, in a sense, killing the werewolf.
And it went directly against Adam's own will.
Cruel.
Selfish.
But it was Strange's choice.
And Noah had no reason to interfere with a decision made by an adult sorcerer.
Even if that sorcerer was still an apprentice in many ways.
At least, the spell itself was clean.
Unless a high-level sorcerer intervened, Adam would never recover those memories.
With a faint smile, Noah prepared to leave.
This visit had only been to check on Strange.
More specifically, to see how he handled the Cloak.
Now that he had his answer, there was no need to stay.
"Sherlock," Noah said before leaving, "rest for a while. Spend time with your friends."
"A month or two."
"Then report to the Sanctum. Your next stage of study will begin."
"I understand, Mentor," Strange replied.
He had no resistance to learning.
If anything, he was looking forward to it.
"I'll be there on time."
"No need to be exact," Noah said casually. "I'm just giving you a rough timeframe. I don't even know when I'll be back myself."
"I'll probably be leaving the Milky Way."
"Just go once a month."
"...Understood."
After that, Noah left.
Strange needed time with Christine.
Noah had no intention of interfering.
Truthfully, Noah also wanted to rest with Hermione.
But now wasn't the time.
This entire incident had been a massive accident.
The fusion within his Domain had reached a level capable of supporting Divine Transformation.
That wasn't entirely good news.
The higher the fusion level, the harder it became to introduce new elements.
And Noah's situation was urgent.
He had to suspend many things.
Especially cultivation.
He needed to find high-latitude Light power of sufficient intensity.
That was the only way to relieve his current predicament.
The best method was to complete Odin's task.
Then have Odin locate a world that possessed the power he needed.
Noah sighed softly.
He felt guilty toward Hermione.
He had spent far too little time with her.
"I'll make it up to her later."
The thought hardened his expression.
Hermione probably wouldn't blame him.
She wouldn't even ask for compensation.
But Noah couldn't accept that.
So the only thing he could do was move faster.
He sent messages to Hermione and Madam Haven through magic.
Then folded space and headed straight to Asgard.
After the battle with Dormammu, Noah's control over space and time had improved drastically.
He could now do things with the Stones that had been impossible before.
That was one of his gains.
Upon arriving in Asgard, Noah quickly reached Odin's palace.
And immediately walked into an awkward scene.
Frigga was pulling Fat Thor by the ear.
"Did you steal wine from the cellar again?" she scolded. "And you even dragged Loki along this time?"
"Mother, I swear I didn't!" Fat Thor cried.
Despite being vastly stronger than Frigga, he didn't dare resist.
"I'm on a diet!"
"You call this a diet?" Frigga snapped.
"How long has it been? You're still like this!"
"From today on, no drinking. No excuses."
"And eat more vegetables. Do you hear me?"
"I swear I'll behave!" Fat Thor pleaded.
"Can you let go first?"
"Noah's here."
"Noah?" Frigga froze, then immediately let go and smiled warmly.
"Child, I heard you just resolved a major crisis."
"Why didn't you rest before coming?"
Noah rubbed his head awkwardly.
It was hard to reconcile the elegant queen with the woman who had just yanked a Tier 10 powerhouse by the ear.
The scene was absurd.
Thor's aggrieved yet obedient expression made it even better.
Noah had expected something like this.
But witnessing it firsthand still felt surreal.
He coughed lightly and recovered his composure.
"Greetings, Your Majesty," Noah said with a courteous bow.
Then he turned to Fat Thor.
"We meet again, Thor."
"Honestly, how am I supposed to tell you apart from the Thor of this world?"
"And you're still fat."
"This is accumulated divine power!" Fat Thor protested.
"Not fat!"
Frigga shot him a look.
His head dropped instantly.
"...Alright. Maybe a little fat."
"Just call me Fat Boy."
"Are you planning to drop a 'Big Boy' on Nagasaki?" Noah said flatly.
Then continued, "How about Lebowski? Or should I just call you Fat Thor?"
Fat Thor's expression turned strange.
Lebowski?
Nagasaki?
He didn't know what either meant.
But he didn't like the name Fat Thor.
Unfortunately, Noah had already turned away to speak with Frigga.
Leaving Fat Thor standing there.
He patted his belly.
Then laughed.
Fat Thor it was.
In this universe, he had found everything he'd lost.
If a nickname helped distinguish him, that was fine.
It wasn't worth worrying about.
