Chapter 626 - Chapter 626: Like a God (Part III)

"This is..."

Standing atop the hill, Llane and the soldiers of Stormwind fell silent as they stared at the distant scene.

Their expressions were blank, as though they were witnessing something that should not exist.

More soldiers gathered around.

They couldn't explain what they were seeing.

Even the environment around them was changing in ways they couldn't comprehend.

Fear began to creep in.

Is this really something a human can do?

Not only the soldiers.

Even the generals felt uneasy.

They weren't strangers to Noah.

They had traveled together for days.

To them, this mage had always been powerful.

But what they were seeing now forced them to understand what kind of existence this seemingly frail man truly was.

If Llane hadn't still been standing there, some of them might have already retreated.

In their eyes, facing those damned orcs felt preferable to facing a mage like this.

"Who... exactly is he?" Llane murmured.

"Durotan..."

Compared to the humans, the orcs were in an even worse state.

They were witnessing Noah and Gul'dan head-on.

The earlier elemental explosions alone had already shattered their courage.

Some orc warriors had been blown apart simply because they failed to retreat in time.

And now, things had become even more terrifying.

This human mage had completely overturned everything the orcs believed.

Faced with the questioning gazes of his people, Durotan had no answers.

His thoughts were in chaos.

He had never imagined that this human mage would be such an existence.

He had raised his assessment of Noah again and again.

Yet every time, he realized he was still underestimating him.

When fighting Gul'dan earlier, Durotan had felt death approaching.

He had been prepared to accept it.

Yet in that moment, he had glimpsed what lay beyond death-

Only to be dragged back by force in the next instant.

When he regained consciousness, he saw the truth.

It was this human mage.

Reversing life and death.

That alone was godlike.

If earlier it was merely "like a god," then what this human mage was doing now was no different from a deity.

"Maybe..." Durotan whispered, "he truly is a god..."

Gul'dan was equally shaken.

He hadn't expected this mage to be so... powerful.

Before, Noah's performance had been strong, but not hopeless.

Gul'dan believed he still had a chance.

But now, for the first time in his life, he was at a loss.

The shattered, twisted space before him.

The calm expression on the human mage's face.

For reasons he couldn't explain, panic crept in.

This entire space had been warped by Noah.

The magic systems of the Marvel universe and the Warcraft world were fundamentally different.

Even in the strange universe Noah came from, the gap here was still enormous.

Perhaps other spells didn't appear especially miraculous in this world.

But spatial combat magic?

That simply did not exist.

Under Noah's control, it shocked everyone present.

Then Noah moved.

While everyone else was still stunned, Noah showed no hesitation.

His experience fighting Dormammu had taught him one thing.

Never leave openings in battle.

No matter how strong or weak the enemy was, distraction meant death.

Mana surged.

Space warped.

The distorted flow rushed straight toward Gul'dan.

Gul'dan reacted quickly.

Though momentarily stunned, he sensed the danger immediately.

The problem was simple.

He had never encountered magic like this.

He had no idea how to counter it.

He rolled away without dignity, wrapping himself in Fel energy.

The next instant, the space where he had stood shattered completely.

Pitch-black cracks spread like an abyss.

Gul'dan's heart raced.

But it wasn't over.

Before he could stand, the world twisted again.

The ground became a wall.

Gravity inverted.

Gul'dan fell violently.

Below him was space sliced into fragments, like torn dimensions.

He slammed his hands into the surface, carving deep claw marks to stop himself.

"What a pathetic sight..."

Noah's voice was calm.

Spatial magic was truly a cheat-level power in some universes.

In the past, Noah had known it was strong.

But at Kamar-Taj, everyone used it.

And many powerful beings were too fast to even allow its deployment.

So he had never felt its true impact.

Now, facing Gul'dan, Noah finally understood.

This wasn't fair.

And he liked that.

Fairness didn't matter.

The more unfair, the better.

Watching Gul'dan struggle, Noah felt no sympathy.

Without spatial magic, Noah would be the one being crushed.

He had no desire to experience Fel up close.

That corrosive power alone meant he had almost no defense.

A mage without defenses, no matter how strong his body, couldn't survive close combat with an orc.

Noah knew this well.

Though his body inherited traits from Captain Marvel, close combat was still a blind spot.

Gul'dan wouldn't need much effort.

Even a random orc could beat Noah senseless.

At that moment, Noah sensed the Dark Portal stabilizing.

Localization was complete.

Medivh-or rather, Sargeras-had finished his work.

All that remained was for Gul'dan to open the gate.

Gul'dan sensed it too.

A dangerous smile spread across his face.

He suddenly lunged toward the captives.

Noah reacted instantly.

A spell he had created himself erupted.

Spatial Strangulation.

A spiral formed beside Gul'dan mid-air.

Then space collapsed violently.

At the moment of impact, Gul'dan raised his left hand.

In an instant, his entire arm was severed, shredded into spatial fragments.

Noah frowned.

Even with altered gravity, Gul'dan had still managed to grab the cage.

Had he truly gone mad?

Noah snorted.

Space trembled again.

But Gul'dan was even more ruthless than expected.

He released the cage.

At the same time, Fel energy drained the captives dry.

Before landing, he poured all that energy into the Dark Portal.

Noah's magic arrived immediately after.

Too late.

Gul'dan was already grievously wounded.

He had forced the portal open purely to distract Noah.

But he hadn't expected this mage to ignore the portal entirely.

All of Noah's attention remained locked on him.

"No-!"

Distorted space.

Overwhelming mana.

Gul'dan didn't even have time to react.

A chill brushed his neck.

By the time he understood what happened, his body had already disintegrated.

Fragments scattered.

Only his head remained.

"This guy..."

Noah stared at the Skull of Gul'dan on the ground, momentarily speechless.

So this time, he was the one who created it.

Turning to the fully opened Dark Portal, Noah felt a headache coming on.

He hadn't expected Gul'dan to be so desperate.

Risking death just to open the gate.

In Noah's memory, this warlock valued his life immensely.

So why the sudden resolve?

A burn-the-boats mentality.

Shaking his head, Noah stopped thinking about the dead.

He turned his attention to the portal, now spewing orcs.

Worry surfaced.

Had Lothar and Khadgar failed?

If so, that was bad.

Noah didn't care much about this universe's future.

But he did care about his reward.

And Karazhan.

Then he noticed it.

The portal was dimming.

Spatial power began to dissipate.

Noah exhaled.

It worked.

Lothar and Khadgar hadn't failed.

A faint smile appeared.

The twisted space around him settled.

The orcs who had just arrived were tossed around once more as gravity flipped again.

When everything was done, Noah opened a portal.

He had left a magical mark on Lothar.

He was about to leave-

"Master Mage..."

Durotan's voice stopped him.
