Chapter 46 - Good Old Days

Three minutes had passed.

Vincent, Dean, and Donovan were close to losing consciousness.

Dean reached for his… eighth, ninth glass…? Nope, he lost count a while ago.

Meanwhile, Tiero was on his eighteenth glass! And he hasn't lost count! "This is to make it easier for you guys… But I can't believe that you three are about to lose…! Hahahaha!"

Donovan was losing his ability to think rationally. He was even more lightweight than Dean and Vincent!

He doesn't remember how much he had drank, but it was definitely a lot.

Vincent… well, he was leaning back on his chair, desperately trying to fend off the lull of sleep. He had drank more than the two, and he was regretting it.

It was a miracle that the three of them still remembered that challenge that Tiero had made.

Dean watched as Tiero refilled his glass. As he was about to bring it to his mouth, he remembered the young girl that had died on the planet that was destroyed.

Suddenly, beads of water streamed down his cheeks, mixing his alcohol with tears.

Vincent caught sight of Dean crying. He then remembered his ex. He started crying too.

Donovan watched the two cry. He remembered his transmigration situation, and the fact that he might never see his friends and family ever again in his original life as Leon Valentin. He got to crying as well.

Tiero was… well, confused. He didn't know what to do. "Hey, come on, lads, I was just joking about the bill thing…"

But none of them heard what he had said.

The people around the bar stared at the commotion that these four guys were making.

Tiero was starting to get affected by their crying. He remembered the old days with Jiro, Benedict, and the others. And Mei…

Tears streamed down his cheeks.

Dean drank his glass of alcohol that was mixed with tears as he continued to cry. Finally, his head fell to the table. He had lost consciousness.

Donovan blew into his handkerchief. He hadn't even noticed that Dean had been knocked cold.

Vincent was staring at a picture on his phone as he cried. It was a picture of him and his ex-girlfriend sleeping on his chest.

Donovan looked up. Suddenly, he saw a group of Visitors that looked like they were trying to imitate Japanese delinquents approaching their table.

"Hey, hey!" A man with a loose necktie put his foot on the edge of their table. "You lot are causing a lot of noise! We're just trying to have a good drinking session, and you're ruining it for us!"

This made Donovan temporarily gain a bit of his rational thinking back. "We apologize for the—"

Suddenly, Tiero said to the group, "You guys… are about to face the wrath… of a retired—"

But someone from the group smacked Tiero's head with their umbrella. Tiero was immediately knocked out. "Heh! Good night, old man!"

Vincent was freed from his stupor when he heard the sound of Tiero's head getting smacked.

Dean was woken up when Tiero's head hit the table.

Donovan felt wrath fill his heart when he saw what these guys just did to his handler.

Groaning, Dean rose up from his slumber, and saw Tiero's unconscious state, as well as the group of delinquents.

Vincent was out of it. He was looking at the group of delinquents and at Tiero, but he was struggling to connect the dots on what just happened.

Before Donovan could reach for his umbrella beside his chair, Dean stood up from his seat.

"Oh? Preparing to kiss our feet, are you?" said a person from the group.

Suddenly, Dean said to Donovan and Vincent, "I did not… get knocked cold… Since this guy is unconscious, he'll be the one… to pay the bill…"

Donovan and Vincent were not able to think clearly. They immediately believed in Dean's words. "That's right…" said Vincent.

"Huh? Hey! Don't ignore us!" Suddenly, the same man who smacked Tiero on the head swung their umbrella towards Dean.

…But immediately after that, Dean disappeared from his seat. Then, the man who was in the middle of swinging his umbrella felt abnormal pain in his stomach!

He fell to the floor, groaning in pain.

Dean had used his super speed. He put his foot on the guy on the floor.

"You bastard!" All of them swung his umbrella at him. With a smirk, Dean dodged it with ease. Then, another one of them was sent flying, crashing into a table with five drunk Visitors.

"Hahahaha! Come at me! I am the incarnation of speed!" Dean let out a maniacal laughter.

The five drunk Visitors were enraged. They rushed towards the group of delinquents, and tackled them from behind!

Dean sent another one flying to another table with four drunken men. And that did it.

A brawl!

Everyone threw chairs at each other, smacked chairs at each other, threw plates, knocked people out with empty bottles, etc.

Slowly, Tiero regained consciousness. The first thing on his mind as he woke up was to drink again. But he found a tooth on his glass! And an unconscious man was on their table!

Enraged, Tiero stood up from his seat, but suddenly, a bottle that came out of nowhere hit his head!

He was knocked out once again, his head on the table.

Donovan was in the middle of a headlock by someone bigger than him. "Gah…!" He reached for his umbrella, and amidst his drunkenness, he was able to use Light Blitz to escape!

But the trajectory of his Light Blitz was messy, so he ended up being sent flying out of the bar! He slowly stood up, walking back inside. A passerby saw the commotion inside the bar, and ran away.

Vincent was being choked by someone from the group of delinquents. Then, remembering his pain and suffering he went through because of his ex, he was suddenly surging with energy! He overpowered the man's arms, removing his hold on his neck.

The man screamed because of Vincent's abnormal grip strength. Then, he sent the man flying towards the bar!

Bottles of liquor were shattered. Vincent saw this, whistled, and slowly returned to his seat.

Dean was slamming the head of someone who tried to headlock him on the table. "Hahahaha! How do you like this, huh?! And that! And that!"

Suddenly, he was interrupted as someone crashed into him. It was Donovan.

Donovan was grabbed by the same man who put him in a headlock earlier.

Shaking his head, Dean saw this and grabbed a piece of wood that was from a broken chair. Then, he stuck the piece of wood into the big man's ass!

With a piercing scream full of agony, the man let go of Donovan. Then, with surprising strength, Dean sent the big man flying with a kick towards two guys that were choking each other. "Hahaha!"

Donovan was on the verge of puking.

Once again, Tiero regained consciousness. He slowly stood up from his seat, but a plate that came out of nowhere hit his head, shattering on impact. His unconscious head hit the table once again.

Donovan crawled towards his umbrella. Grabbing it, he crawled towards the trash can and cast a barrier. He then puked on the trash can, with no one to interrupt him.

"Ugh! Old man Jiro, handle this, will you?!" shouted Rika.

"What?! I told you so many times that I'm—" Jiro's sentence was cut short as he took a peek at what was happening. He had a large scar on his closed left eye, and he had a large beard.

With a sigh, Jiro exited the kitchen.

"You f*cking bastards!" A deep voice full of authority that sounded like it came from a bear resounded throughout the bar.

Everyone immediately stopped, turning to look at Jiro. He was quite tall, and he looked like he could crush the neck of a bear. He was wearing a white shirt with a brown apron. He was also bald.

After Jiro's piercing scream, the bar had gone silent, except for the sound of puking, which came from Donovan.

"No one's leaving until this mess is cleaned," said Jiro with the face of a bear. "No one."

Everyone had stopped fighting, and went to fix overturned tables and chairs. But the broken bottles, plates, and chairs were… well, they were going to have to pay for it.

Jiro caught sight of the unconscious man with shattered bottles of liquor around him. He was very close to bursting a vein, which was very dangerous to someone of his old age.

Dean returned to his seat.

Jiro then walked towards Tiero's table. Then, he smacked his old friend on the head.

Tiero immediately woke up.

"Tiero, you old, drunken bastard…" Jiro shook his head with a sigh.

He looked around, and saw Jiro's face. "…What'd I miss?"

"A lot," said Vincent. He had regained most of his rationality.

"Go home, Tiero. Take your Visitors with you. I'm closing up for tonight because of this f*cking mess…" Jiro said with a growl.

Donovan returned to the table. He looked like a mess. In fact, everyone looked like a mess.

"Ah… My bad for the trouble." Tiero rubbed his head. For some reason, his head stung a bit.

Dean chugged on the bottle of alcohol. "Not enough… Also, Tiero, you were knocked cold first, so… you pay the bill."

"Was I…?" Tiero doesn't remember much. He doesn't even remember that Dean was the first to fall unconscious!

He laughed. "Don't worry. I was going to pay from the very beginning… That challenge was just a joke…"

Jiro looked at Tiero and his three Visitors. He was glad that his old friend was no longer drinking alone.

Meanwhile, everyone from the group of delinquents were knocked out. As Tiero paid the bill, and the three stood up from their seats, Dean said to Jiro, "Hey, uh… Those guys are the one that started this…" He pointed at the delinquents.

"I see…" Jiro now had new servants.

Dean wasn't sure if he was the one who started it, but he gave the blame to the delinquents.

Dean, Vincent, and Donovan were still drunk, but the brawl from earlier had made them gain a bit of rationality.

Tiero was even more drunk. He exited the bar, followed by Dean, and Donovan holding onto Vincent for support. Donovan was the only one with an umbrella.

The blonde haired Dean sat on the flight of stairs. He doesn't have the energy to keep walking.

Donovan and Vincent sat beside Dean. They, too, did not have the strength to keep walking.

Although Tiero was drunker than them, he had more than enough energy to walk. "Oh, come on… A bit of alcohol won't kill you guys."

Donovan's mouth tasted like vomit. Vincent felt like crying. Dean wanted to sleep. They all reeked of alcohol, and their clothes were stained with alcohol.

Suddenly, Dean fell asleep once again. With a sigh, Tiero carried Dean on his back.

Donovan and Vincent stood up, and the former was still holding onto Vincent for support.

This was the most fun that Tiero has had in a long time. They walked on the sidewalk, the moonlight shining on them.

"You guys have no idea… how much fun this was for me. Hehe… I really enjoyed this." Tiero said in a low voice with a chuckle.

Donovan and Vincent were too drunk to hear him.

As they walked, Tiero remembered the good old days with nights similar to this. Every time he and his old buddies would have a drinking session, it'd always end up in a brawl, and they were banned from many liquor establishments across Umbrellas.

With that, Tiero dropped Dean off to his apartment, and Donovan and Vincent had gone their separate ways.

Donovan was too drunk to notice that Dean lived in the same apartment as him.

After Donovan entered his apartment, he fell asleep on the entrance.
