Chapter 203 - Adam's Reflection (12)

To what extent could one's motivation allow him to continue living?

To Adam, perhaps that question didn't matter.

He had already made his decisions. His own choices would always come first, and if he had decided that he would save other people, then that decision had to be fulfilled.

It didn't matter how difficult it was, nor how many times the world itself seemed to tell him that he was wrong.

He had always known it would be difficult.

Perhaps he really was nothing more than a small pawn, a miserable existence sent back into the past, only to be pushed around by beings far greater than himself.

Perhaps his entire life had already been decided by someone else.

But that kind of shallow, pessimistic thinking could not possibly be the "truth."

Because life was not that simple.

Life was not black and white. People were not simply good or evil, and a person's entire existence could not be reduced to a single reason, a single tragedy, or a single decision.
