Looking at her mother standing at the gate in the yard, Evelyn Taylor took a deep breath to ease her discomfort. Only then did she pull out the car keys, get out, and walk toward her mom.
"Mom! I kept my promise, didn't I?" As she walked over, she tried to appear a bit more relaxed.
"Yes, you did." Harriet White greeted her daughter with a smile. At that moment, she suddenly realized a truth — nothing is more reassuring than her daughter's health and safety.
In her heart, she secretly vowed never to force her daughter to go on blind dates again. She wanted to give Evelyn her freedom and let her develop as she wished.
Evelyn couldn't guess her mom's thoughts, but she could tell her mother seemed much calmer than before; there was no sign of any anger on her face.
"Mom! I'm sorry! I worried you. I won't be so childish from now on." She reached out to hold her mom's arm, admitting her mistake willingly.
