After joking with her best friend for a while, Evelyn Taylor hung up the phone. At this moment, she felt much better than before.
She turned her head to look outside the car window and suddenly felt that her impulsive decision to run away was childish. She was already thirty years old, yet she resorted to the runaway tactic that only young girls tend to pull.
Evelyn realized her immaturity, but she couldn't muster the courage to return on her own. Sitting in the car, she didn't know where to go for a moment.
Suddenly, the phone in her hand rang. Without much thought, she glanced at it and saw the word "Mom" flashing on the screen. Her eyes instantly lit up, bright as ever.
However, she didn't answer the call immediately. She hesitated for quite a while, only picking up just before the system was about to hang up the call automatically.
"Hello!"
Though her heart was overwhelmingly joyful and excited, she pretended to be sulky and unhappy.
