Seeing Harriet suddenly appear in the living room, Aiden and Ryan were visibly stunned for a moment, but they quickly returned to normal.
"Ryan said inviting Evelyn over might be a bit rushed? He's worried this might just be Thomas' mom acting on impulse." Aiden spoke up before Ryan could, and his words surprised his son.
Ryan felt surprised yet deeply impressed by his dad's ability to lie, which was truly eye-opening. He hadn't figured out how to respond to his mom's questions, but his dad already did it for him.
He was extremely grateful for his dad stepping in, "Mom! You shouldn't push so hard, I'm worried pushing too hard might backfire."
His real concern was that the two of them might be driven to do something wrong; pretending to be a couple was already unreliable, anything more would be worse.
He didn't want to see those two make foolish mistakes, especially his good buddy, who was his biggest concern right now.
