Alice thought Anthony would be back soon, but she and Thomas Fisher had been waiting in the living room for over five hours without seeing him return. Alice was getting a bit sleepy from the wait.
"If you're tired, go back to your room and rest. I'll wait here and call you when he returns." Seeing her start to yawn repeatedly from exhaustion, Thomas felt a pang and urged her to go upstairs to rest.
Alice shook her head and leaned against Thomas's body. "I'll just nap here for a bit."
After waiting for so long, that guy should be back soon. She figured she could just take a quick nap.
"Lie on the sofa with your head on my lap."
Worried she might be uncomfortable leaning like that, Thomas let her lay down on the sofa with her head on his lap so she would be more comfortable.
Alice was not fussy and lay down as he suggested. "Remember to call me when Jacob returns."
