"Why is he coming here?" I repeated in my mind as I watched Sonny walk out of the theatre with a woman hanging on his arm. My whole body went cold the moment I recognized him.
"I am dead… it's over for me," I thought. My heartbeat skyrocketed so fast that I could feel it in my throat. My mind started going numb, and my hands began to shake a little.
Ezra was standing right behind me. What should I say to him? I had told him earlier that I could not remember Sonny anymore, and that had been true at the time. I had seriously forgotten about him for a few days. But none of that mattered anymore. The truth was walking straight toward us.
"Ohh no… what excuse should I come up with? Should I just run away?" I asked myself, wondering if that was the best possible thing I could do right now.
But deep inside, I already knew it was too late. Sonny had seen me. And more than that, Ezra had already seen this pathetic, scared expression on my face.
