Chapter 459 - Pokémon: Breeding Simulator [459]

Having his arm suddenly seized by a subordinate startled even Lysandre.

But when he raised his head and looked straight ahead, his pupils shrank involuntarily again.

It wasn't that his nerves were weak—the scene before him genuinely shook his worldview.

In the distant sky, a massive red bird writhed in black fog, its silhouette fierce and terrifying.

With each breath, a black-and-crimson beam spewed from its mouth.

Even from this distance, Lysandre could sense the overwhelming power of that beam.

There was no doubt—Yveltal was even more terrifying than the legends described.

It truly deserved the title of "the Destruction Pokémon."

And yet…

Both Lysandre and Xerosic saw it clearly.

The one tangled in combat with Yveltal was… a human-shaped figure.

"M-Mr. Elias… didn't bring a Pokémon?"

After snapping back to himself, Xerosic asked cautiously.

He simply couldn't imagine someone fighting a Legendary Pokémon like Yveltal with their own power, without relying on Pokémon.

He wasn't alone—Lysandre's head was buzzing too.

Hearing him, Lysandre took a deep breath.

"No idea. Don't worry about that yet."

"Notify everyone. Calibrate the weapons and lock onto Yveltal."

Lysandre waved a hand, issuing the order in a low voice.

He hadn't forgotten why he was here.

Whatever was happening out there, he had to intervene.

A Legendary Pokémon like Yveltal was simply too dangerous.

Still…

After giving the order, Lysandre exhaled slightly in relief.

Yes, the League would be watching now—but with the number of heavy weapons he'd brought along, subduing Yveltal shouldn't be a problem.

He'd made it in time.

With that thought, Lysandre's mouth curled slightly.

This time, he could finally help.

"Boss, the weapons are calibrated."

Since they'd already been half-ready, calibration was swift.

"Wait for an opening. Knock Yveltal out of the sky."

Lysandre kept his eyes on the distant sky as he spoke to Xerosic.

"Yes."

...

BOOM—!

CRACK!

After another thunderous blast, the outer armor on Elias's body finally made a strained, cracking sound.

Spiderweb-like fractures spread across the plating, on the verge of shattering completely.

THUD—!

At last, at that very moment, the black armor crashed to the ground, breaking into scattered metal fragments.

Elias's expression didn't change in the slightest.

Against a Pokémon at Yveltal's level, it was already impressive that the poacher's armor had lasted this long.

And now, its task was complete.

In that short interval just now, with assistance from the arm-mounted energy collectors, Psycho Cuts, unleashed in rapid bursts, had indeed suppressed Yveltal exactly as planned.

"Del…"

Beside him, Delphox panted softly, edging closer to Elias with pleading eyes.

She wanted him to run.

Reality had proved it—Legendary Pokémon possessed stamina beyond logic. Staying meant danger.

She didn't want anything to happen to her Trainer.

While she still had enough strength to hold Yveltal back, Elias retreating was the sensible choice.

Unfortunately, before Elias could reply, Yveltal beat its wings and soared directly overhead.

A vast shadow engulfed the ground, making the scene even more horrifying.

Seeing Elias finally stop attacking, Yveltal felt a flicker of delight.

This was the first time it had been astonished by its prey.

That Ghost Form's brief, explosive Psycho Cuts had troubled even it.

But thankfully, such a draining burst couldn't last long.

Staring down at Elias like a lamb awaiting slaughter, a cruel thrill rose slowly in Yveltal's chest.

The blood-red hue in its blue eyes spread even further.

Snap!

Delphox moved without hesitation, stepping protectively in front of Elias.

Even though she was so tense she had to swallow, Delphox actually felt a brief swell of pride.

Elias… would probably be so moved he'd hug her and cry, right?

Behind her.

Watching Delphox's actions, Elias genuinely smiled.

But…

His plan wasn't that crude.

As Yveltal flapped its wings again, charging a black-and-red sphere of energy at its chest,

Elias glanced toward the distance.

There were energy fluctuations there—more than one, and they didn't feel like Pokémon at all.

It seemed the Pyroar who came to "help" had arrived.

"Delphox. Cover your ears."

Two seconds before Yveltal completed charging, Elias suddenly spoke.

Trusting him, Delphox immediately raised both hands and pressed them over her pointed fox ears.

The next second…

Elias pulled out something Cogita had given him.

It was a small, pitch-black box—like a recorder.

Following Cogita's instructions, Elias used psychokinesis without hesitation to build a sound-amplifying device around it.

Click.

The button clicked.

Then, from the recorder, amplified by psychokinesis dozens—no, hundreds—of times, came a deafening roar.

"ROAR!"

A sound like a Pokémon's cry rang out.

It was sharp—and carried an indescribably crushing pressure.

Yveltal, ready to strike, shuddered sharply, its eyes clearing for a split second.

Almost as a reflex.

That sudden cry conveyed a massive threat.

A Legendary Pokémon—no weaker than itself, perhaps even stronger.

But the moment it realized the threat was coming merely from the little black box in the Ghost Form's hand—

Several orange-yellow beams streaked in from the distance.

BOOM!

The beams struck Yveltal and detonated in midair.

Yveltal was engulfed by firelight, only managing a pained roar.

"Hah…"

Only then did Elias put away the small box.

"That was a huge help, Cogita."

He murmured softly toward the lazy figure in his memory.

Now… all that remained was the final stage of the plan.
