Chapter 362 - Chapter 362: The Silver Dragon King Who Refuses to Take a Loss

Chapter 362: The Silver Dragon King Who Refuses to Take a Loss

Though she was somewhat angry, Gu Yue still exercised restraint, as evident from the laws she chose to use. The Law of Wind, aside from Water and Fire, was the most conventional among the elemental laws she had mastered it had decent offensive power but remained relatively standard. Even if Han Li couldn't fully withstand it and sustained some injuries, they would be easy to heal, not to mention that he was also protected by his armor.

The thin layer of wind blades covering Han Li's body was shattered the moment it sliced through the surface of the pale blue wind sphere. The gap between mere initiation and full mastery was still quite clear.

The massive dragon claw, now carrying countless tiny wind blades unleashed from the ruptured sphere, came crashing down on Han Li with overwhelming force.

Han Li simply smiled, activated his divine power, and raised both fists.

The moment their attacks met, a piercing screech echoed through the space that was the sound of wind blades scraping against his armor. Then, silence.

When the first collision ended, Han Li was sent smashing into the ground by the immense force, but the dragon claw that he had struck with his fists also failed to continue its descent. Instead, the impact from his counterattack sent Gu Yue, who had just revealed her true form, flying backward.

Han Li hit the ground with a tremendous crash. The earth caved in within a hundred meter radius around him, cracks spreading in every direction. Huge chunks of rock were flung into the air before crashing back down.

In midair, Gu Yue, who had been blasted back nearly a hundred meters, raised her dragon claw painfully. At the center of her claw, two diamond shaped scales were covered in cracks, with blood slowly seeping through.

She looked down in disbelief at Han Li, only to see him smiling up at her, his armor completely untouched by the wind blades.

Just one exchange had revealed the terrifying extent of his physical strength. A human, using pure physical force alone, had shattered her dragon scales.

Laws could be deceptive she could control the strength of her attacks and had not gone all out just now. But the body did not lie. This meant that even if she reinforced her defense with earth elements, Han Li could most likely still break through it in a real fight.

A faint green glow flashed across her dragon claw, slowly repairing the cracked scales. The bleeding stopped in an instant. Yet, instead of frustration, excitement flickered in Gu Yue's eyes.

This was the ally she had chosen. Suddenly, she had a bit more confidence in the future.

"Continue."

The silver dragon in the sky spoke once again. Without waiting for his response, she had already decided this test would go on.

Han Li raised an eyebrow. He knew this would happen.

Most soul beasts were either hotheaded brutes or battle hungry maniacs. Once a fight started, they would easily forget everything else.

Of course, humans had the greatest desire for battle, but their self control was also much stronger.

Just as he was still inwardly mocking the situation, Gu Yue attacked again.

This time, she switched to her other claw. The massive dragon talons curled slightly, and the fractured ground beneath Han Li began to tremble.

One by one, massive earthen spears, each larger than a grown man, erupted from the ground. As soon as they detached, their sharpened tips gleamed coldly, enhanced by wind elements, and then they rained down on him like a deadly storm.

Judging by the scene, the Silver Dragon King was quite the formidable spellcaster.

Han Li wrapped his body in divine power but refrained from using the laws himself. Gu Yue might be getting carried away, but he wouldn't. He had to stick to his original plan.

Another dragon roar echoed.

Above them, a massive six pointed star array appeared, glowing brightly like an enormous magic circle.

Han Li, who had just shattered an earthen spear with his fist, glanced up only to see beams of holy light, infused with powerful purification energy, cascading down upon him.

Physical elemental attacks were easy to dodge, but this overwhelming flood of holy light was much harder to evade especially since both of them had mutually agreed to forgo spatial manipulation.

And, clearly targeting his weaknesses, Gu Yue had specifically chosen laws that he had yet to master.

Fine. Since this was all for testing, he might as well go along with it.

Of course, that didn't mean he was going to just let this slide.

Testing his resilience was one thing, but Gu Yue launching a large scale attack without asking for his consent? He didn't like that at all.

And besides, since they were already in battle, it was only reasonable for him to test out his new ability too, right?

"Divine Body."

After smashing through another approaching earth spear, Han Li stopped dodging.

His armor gleamed brightly as he activated his newly acquired power.

Pressing his right arm against his head, his body suddenly expanded. At the same time, his wings flapped with immense force, and he shot toward Gu Yue in midair, completely ignoring the holy light raining down on him.

Gu Yue, seeing him suddenly grow to a giant size not much smaller than her true form instinctively began flying backward while directing more concentrated beams of holy light at him.

Gu Yue spread her dragon mouth wide, unleashing a breath infused with both ice and fire, blasting toward the approaching Han Li. At the same time, her silver white wings stirred up a raging wind in an attempt to hinder his advance.

But since Han Li had already committed to attacking, he wouldn't be stopped so easily. Rather than retreating, he was actually delighted to see Gu Yue use an ice fire attack any other elemental assault might have posed a problem, but ice and fire were completely ineffective against him.

Gu Yue's eyes widened in shock as his massive figure suddenly became illusory, seamlessly merging into her breath. His aura followed the energy flow backward, tracing her own attack directly back to her.

Elementalization an ability Han Li rarely used, but had recently begun to display more frequently.

After mastering space and darkness laws, he had tried to apply the same principle to other elements, but it hadn't worked well. Perhaps it was tied to his essence, as only ice and fire elements allowed him to achieve true elementalization.

Which, in hindsight, made sense if simply grasping elemental laws granted this ability, then the elemental gods of the Divine Realm wouldn't be worth much.

Despite its limitations, this power was more than enough for now especially in this moment.

"Gotcha."

As Gu Yue hastily cut off her breath attack, Han Li's massive form reappeared at the tail end of the fading energy, now well within close combat range.

His arms blocked an incoming swipe from her dragon claws, while his wings clashed against her silver white dragon wings, sending sparks flying through the air.

But unlike Gu Yue, who was bound by the anatomical structure of her dragon body, Han Li had no such restrictions. The sinister hook attached to his armor suddenly extended, coiling around her tail and piercing into her flesh to prevent her escape.

"ROAR!"

A soul infused dragon roar exploded in Han Li's ears, but the eerie, color shifting dragon horn on his forehead vibrated in response, releasing invisible ripples that neutralized the attack.

Gu Yue's eyes flashed with a mix of frustration and embarrassment as she watched Han Li completely ignore her intimidation attempt. Instead, he allowed her dragon claws to strike against his armor while his hands reached for the underside of her massive dragon head.

With a sudden surge of power, the silver dragon's long yet slender body was lifted into the air. She arced through the sky in a perfect motion before Han Li slammed her down with a flawless over the shoulder throw.

"Alright, I think I've got a good sense of my current limits."

Han Li clapped his hands in satisfaction, retracting the sinister hook.

The test had gone well his results were exactly what he had hoped for. An attack formed purely from the same level laws could only penetrate his defense if concentrated in a single spot. The damaged yet rapidly regenerating sections of his armor were proof enough of that.

However, while Han Li was pleased, Gu Yue most certainly was not.

Losing the fight was one thing it wasn't even a real battle, after all but being thrown over someone's shoulder like that? That was an absolute disgrace.

She, the Silver Dragon King, could not accept such humiliation.

Just as the sinister hook fully unraveled from her tail, she suddenly whipped it around, simultaneously ensnaring Han Li's legs while dragging the hook back with it.

With a fierce flap of her silver wings against the ground, she used the force to launch herself upward, initiating a deadly roll mid air.

Han Li was coming with her whether he liked it or not.

"Hey, you !"

Han Li barely had time to react before he was yanked into the air by the overwhelming force.

Fine, fine. If that's how she wanted to play it…

Just before he was about to hit the ground, his wings lashed out first, slashing into the surface and using the momentum to reverse his fall. He flipped back toward Gu Yue, arms wide open, seizing hold of her and pinning her wings tightly against his sides.

If he was going down, she was coming with him. He wasn't the type to take a loss without payback.

Gu Yue, however, was just as relentless.

Even with her wings bound, she still had her head

BANG!

A resounding impact echoed as her dragon skull smashed against Han Li's forehead, sending stars bursting through both of their visions.

Immediately after, their entangled bodies crashed heavily into the ground, tumbling across the battlefield like a pair of rolling boulders. They only came to a stop when they slammed into the reinforced spatial barrier.

Han Li shook his head, trying to clear his dizziness, before glancing up at the massive silver dragon pressing down on him.

"Happy now?" he asked, exasperated.

He wasn't injured just caught off guard by Gu Yue's sudden sneak attack, which had left them in this ridiculous state.

Gu Yue snorted coldly, ignoring him completely. She shifted back into her human form and landed gracefully on the ground, beginning to repair the damaged terrain caused by their fight.

Seeing this, Han Li also reverted to his normal size and started repairing his armor.

What a crazy dragon she refused to take even the slightest loss.

All he had done was throw her over his shoulder, and yet she'd gone berserk over it.

It's not like he hadn't tanked her attacks, too!

Sure, it was just a sparring match, but fights weren't meant to be polite affairs. And it wasn't like he had deliberately chosen to throw her it was just that the space they were fighting in was too small.

If this had been a real battle in mid air, the worst that would have happened was getting flung aside. The outcome wouldn't have changed much it just wouldn't have looked as embarrassing.

Still, now that he had seen Gu Yue's true form up close, he had to admit…

It was a little different from what he had imagined.
