The Wedding Celebration of Seraphina and Lucian De Luca
The De Luca estate had never been so lively. Lavish chandeliers bathed the grand hall in golden light, reflecting off the crystal glasses and polished marble floors.
Guests from every corner of the underworld had gathered. Mafia bosses, high-ranking officials, and even foreign dignitaries were present, all eager to witness the union that solidified the De Luca family's power.
The music was elegant, the food divine, and the atmosphere…
Tense.
"Why do I feel like this is a warzone?"
Matteo whispered to Lorenzo, his eyes darting around the crowd as he took a sip of whiskey.
"Because it is," Lorenzo muttered, his eyes narrowed. "These vultures are circling."
"Ah… so you noticed too."
The predators...
Women.
Draped in designer gowns, flashing expensive jewelry, and exuding seductive charm, they had one goal in mind—Lucian De Luca.
The newly appointed future head of the De Luca family was young, handsome, powerful, and untouchable.
A perfect target.
"How dare they…"
Lorenzo's fingers tightened around his glass, his knuckles turning white as he watched the scene unfold.
But Seraphina…
She was calm.
Sitting beside Enzo, her eyes lazily followed the parade of women approaching him.
She didn't say a word, but more like, she didn't need to.
"Lucian, darling…"
A woman, no older than twenty, leaned a little too close, her manicured fingers brushing against Lucian's arm.
"You look tired. Maybe you need some fresh air… with company?" She batted her eyelashes, her smile dripping with false sweetness.
Lucian's response?
A Blank Stare.
"No, thank you."
"But I insist—"
"I said no."
Another one tried.
A sultry brunette slipped her arm through his, her perfume suffocating.
"Mr. De Luca… I heard the De Luca men have… legendary stamina. Maybe you'd like to show me?"
Lucian blinked.
"Legendary stamina?"
Cue the confusion.
Lucian tilted his head, genuinely confused.
"I don't think running after Sera counts as stamina," he muttered softly, blinking like a lost puppy.
"Come on, handsome… Don't be shy—"
"I'm married." proudly showing off his sapphire ring.
"But—"
"To Sera."
"But we can—"
"No."
And then… He smiled.
"My wife doesn't like sharing."
Instant Regret.
"W-What?"
The women backed off, their confidence shattering the moment Lucian's usually calm and composed demeanor shifted.
☆☆☆
"Seraaa…"
Lucian with bright flushed cheeks turned toward Seraphina, his lips pulling into a goofy smile as he leaned against her shoulder.
"Look… I sent them away."
Seraphina just… Blinked.
Is he drunk?
"Good job, Darling."
"Do I get a kiss?"
"Maybe later."
"Okay…" Lucian mumbled, nuzzling against her like an oversized puppy.
"Is this real life?"
Matteo choked on his drink, trying—and failing—not to burst out laughing.
"That's the future head of the De Luca family?" One of the guests whispered, eyeing Lucian's … affectionate, adorable behavior.
"I'm scared." the other guest murmured.
"As you should be."
Lorenzo's voice was low, barely above a whisper… but the threat in it was unmistakable.
Everyone fell silent.
"Sera… Let's dance…"
Lucian murmured, pulling Serafina gently toward the dance floor.
And she let him.
☆☆☆
"You're enjoying this too much."
Lorenzo's tone was flat, but Nonno—who had been observing everything with a twinkle in his eye—just shrugged.
"They're young. Let them be."
"I'm worried about the future."
Lorenzo muttered, watching Enzo twirl Seraphina around like an idiot.
"You should be." Matteo chuckled, raising his glass.
"Especially If he keeps drinking."
Nonno added, narrowing his eyes as he watched Lucian giggle while stumbling.
"No more alcohol for Lucian. EVER."
"Agreed."
Lorenzo, Mateo, and Nonno said in unison, their voices laced with exhaustion.
"Papa…"
Seraphina's voice pulled Lorenzo out of his thoughts as she guided a very drunk, very affectionate Lucian back toward them.
"Yes, Sera?"
"Lucian's sleepy."
Lorenzo just… Sighed.
"I'll take care of him."
"No, Papa."
Seraphina's eyes were firm.
"He's my Husband now. I'll take care of him."
And in that moment…
Lorenzo Knew.
Serafina wasn't just his little girl anymore.
"Of course, Sera."
"Enjoy the party for me." Serafina smiled as she walk inside with Lucian affectionately hugging her.
"God help us all…"
"Please remind me to hide all the wines from Lucian."
Matteo downed his drink.
"I'll also gonna lock up my wine cellar"
Nonno reached for another bottle.
And Lorenzo?
He just prayed the De Luca Empire would survive them both.
