Chapter 240 - The Blood Left Outside

The headlights dimmed as Mirshad's car rolled quietly into the family compound. The world outside may still be shaking… but here, the house stood in peace.

Inside the car, silence hung heavy. Sophia stared at the road ahead, her mind echoing the memory of what she had seen — not just the fight… but the raw, ruthless side of Mirshad. A god with the heart of a man. And hands that held no mercy.

The car stopped. Mirshad didn't move. He stared at the steering wheel.

"Sophia… bring me fresh clothes. I'll wait here. I… can't walk in like this."

Sophia nodded and stepped out.

Rayyan was sitting at the sit-out, sipping his tea in the quiet of the night. The sound of the car didn't alarm him… but Sophia walking in with that look — it did.

"You two got lost in the stars or what?" he joked gently.

"We… just had a small detour after the hospital," she said, almost too carefully.

Rayyan's eyes narrowed. His fingers loosened from the teacup. He stood up without sipping. The night wasn't over.

He walked toward the car and knocked gently on the window. Mirshad didn't flinch. He unlocked the door.

Rayyan stepped in. The scent of blood wasn't strong… but it was there. Dry. Metallic. Ancient.

"You fought… didn't you?"

Mirshad gave a tired smile. "It's over. Someone came for me. But I handled it."

"Alone?" Rayyan asked.

"I didn't want anyone to know. Especially now."

There was a knock on the window. Sophia again. This time, she brought folded fresh clothes. She handed them in and left without a word.

Rayyan pulled out his phone.

"What are you doing?" Mirshad asked.

"Calling the watchers."

The line connected.

"Attack tonight. Name?" Rayyan asked.

"David," the voice replied.

Rayyan froze.

"He's gone dark. But yes, he was behind it."

Mirshad leaned forward.

"Where is he now?"

"Unknown. After you erased his world, he vanished. But tonight, his ghost reached back."

Mirshad stared into space for a few seconds… then said calmly, "Stop searching for him."

Rayyan turned sharply. "What?"

"Let him breathe. Let this wedding happen. Let Maa and Papa smile. After that… we finish what he started."

"As you command… MRD."

The call ended.

"You sure about this? What if he strikes again?" Rayyan asked.

"Peace can't exist if we keep preparing for war every second," Mirshad said as he placed a hand on his brother's shoulder. "Let's be family… just for one week."

Rayyan stared… then smiled. "Fine. But next time, at least take a nap before killing anybody."

They both chuckled.

Mirshad stepped out of the car, now wearing fresh clothes. The night wind touched his face, cool and forgiving. Behind him, the bloodstained shirt still rested in the backseat. He didn't look back.

Inside the house, the lights were still on. Laughter echoed softly. The smell of food lingered in the air.

And as he stepped through the door, no one saw the war that had followed him back. But they saw something else.

Their son. Their brother. Their protector.

Home — not as MRD. Not as a god. But as Mirshad.

And that… was all they needed.
