"They would surely love her and protect her more, and I do not want to see such a miserable scene."
Once she finished speaking, Lydia gave Ivy a faint smile.
Ivy froze at that exact moment.
There was something about the little girl's expression that made a chill run down her spine. It suddenly occurred to Ivy that Lydia might already know the truth about her birth.
Ivy stared at her for a moment before asking, "Even though I did not finish my question, you already understood what I was trying to ask?"
Lydia sighed softly.
"Well, my grandmother's blood and my grandfather's blood do not match at all. My parents often beat me, and they eventually left me with my grandparents. As for my other siblings, they do not care about me. They think I am too rough because I have always been the one doing all the work and chores at home, yet no one has ever cared about me."
She paused, and a faint, almost bitter smile appeared on her face.
