Chapter 139 - Charged Particle Barrage

He glanced over its form, the upper body resembling his own, the lower half rooted into the ground and sky, with glowing roots wrapping a golden red sphere in its abdomen. Seeing this all too familiar shape, he shrugged.

"Whatever, it is not the first time. I am used to old friends popping up like this."

"But think carefully… Biollante, right? Just a mortal born in an age without me."

"Let us see who the strongest plant really is."

Charged Particle Cannon did not rely on direct explosions or scorching heat for its killing power. Instead, it focused on extreme penetration and a firing range that could cover the entire Solar System. Belial only needed a glance to understand that this plant-type monster was hard to move, its roots still buried deep underground, relying on thick vitality and staying in place to fight.

If you could stand outside its attack range and shoot it from afar, treating it like a target, that was far more comfortable. Ring-shaped magnetic blasts surged together into blue-white electric light, and the Charged Particle Cannon crossed hundreds of kilometers in an instant, firing shot after shot. The sound of the cannon fire rolled continuously through the air.

Biollante could not block it at all. Its mountain-sized body was pierced through instantly, its rough hide, rotten muscles, and decayed bones crushed into scattered Shard, with each shot blasting out chunks of disgusting flesh like a blockbuster. Under terrifying kinetic energy, heat, and electromagnetic disintegration, the damaged tissues were instantly sublimated and torn apart at the most basic microscopic level.

The terrifying penetrating wounds left behind could not be repaired. Dark green flesh writhed uselessly, unable to restore what was missing, forcing the monster to howl in agony. Its massive tentacles flailed wildly, smashing into the ground with earth-shaking force and shattering mountains into Shard.

Biollante raised its head high. The power stored within its body, not yet fully digested, was violently mobilized, causing silver-green light to radiate from its form, while its flower-crown-like neck glowed with an extremely Gold Rank white light. This was the second time it had ever felt pain.

In the past, when it stole eggs and the insects resisted desperately, it had taken damage but never felt pain. Only He had ever given it that sensation. The monster struggled to imitate that feeling, crudely and clumsily, forcing all its power to gather into its three-petaled maw.

This time, it did not manipulate Laws or corrosion. Instead, it chose the purest expression of destruction: heat and kinetic force. A blazing white Light Cannon formed purely from compressed heat surged forward, barely forced into a beam, while the leaked heat ignited the entire ecological zone it passed through.

This attack would even injure itself slightly, but that did not matter, since it could regenerate. What mattered was that it wanted to defeat the opponent using the same method as He. Corrupted forests and poisonous swamps ignited, mountains on both sides melted into magma, and everything in its path was pushed down by sheer heat.

The world ahead turned white as the roaring light wave rolled forward for over a hundred kilometers. It then intruded into the absolute domain ruled by the pitch-black Great Dragon, but Belial only thought the effects looked flashy and simply stood still. He calmly collided with it head-on.

The direct mass collision released energy like a nuclear blast, spreading outward in all directions. A massive hemispherical sphere of light rose up as compressed heat exploded in an instant, turning heaven and earth as bright as day. Temperatures of hundreds of thousands of degrees ignited everything nearby, while soil and rock were hurled outward, melting mid-flight into flowing magma.

At the impact point, a sea of magma formed, thick blockbuster black and gray smoke rising and blocking all sight except for the glow of molten rock. As everyone knew, smoke did not mean damage. From the towering smoke column, a sharp black edge emerged, darker and deeper than smoke or cooling obsidian.

That edge stretched longer and longer, revealing itself as a pair of wings. They were grotesque and thick, like a pair of demonic claws. The next moment, those wings swung at a speed too fast for the naked eye, followed by a shrill cry as air was torn apart by Rend.

Blue electric light mixed with extremely compressed air, and a violent airflow ripped outward, briefly creating near-vacuum zones and shredding the black smoke pillar. The charred crater below, filled with magma like a vision of hell, was affected by a single unconscious breath from the fully revealed, even darker Great Dragon.

In an instant, everything was dyed black from the inside out. Magma cooled into obsidian as terrifying cold overwhelmed the former heat. Belial spoke in a casual tone, saying that if it had lasted longer, it might have worked as a sauna.

He brushed away the smoke blocking his view and commented that the attack looked impressive but failed to even scratch his skin. It had not even reached his surface scales. Once inside the Energy Field domain, it was weakened automatically, and then blocked by his newly gained passive electromagnetic shield.

The energy level itself was not low, but its complete realm was far too crude, with power spread too thin. It might work on weak targets, but both of them were high-end builds, making this kind of attack pointless. Finding the opponent underwhelming, Belial charged forward without hesitation.

For beings of this scale, a hundred kilometers was nothing. He pushed off the ground, and behind him, Rend tore open fan-shaped, spiderweb-like Crack, ripping up the earth. Exploding white light boosted his speed to an extreme, with thunder, storms, and frost surging together within black, moon-heavy clouds.

Belial had already figured out its traits. The mechanical version of himself had fast healing but a low health cap, making the Charged Particle Cannon ideal. This Biollante was different, with both a high health cap and rapid regeneration. Even after so many cannon shots forcibly reduced its health, it was already recovering.

Its massive body was supported by power pouring endlessly from abyssal Rend openings, and it had already consumed the surrounding blockbuster ecosystem. Its power was constantly increasing, with natural recovery far exceeding the damage dealt. The obvious choice was close combat, using heat-based skills to overwhelm it and finish it quickly.

As his roar echoed, the expanded Energy Field collided with the ecological domain. Like a hammer smashing an egg into Shard, corrupted plants and twisted lifeforms collapsed instantly. A higher, stronger rule crushed Biollante's incomplete domain, forcing it to howl in fear and madness.

Countless tentacles erupted from the ground, twisted from blasphemous matter, snapping their maws at Belial. In panic, it fired another Light Cannon of intense heat, but this kind of incomplete realm attack was nowhere near enough. The moment it touched his surface, it was disintegrated by the electromagnetic shield.

At the same time, elemental disasters poured down from the clouds. Fire, lightning, ice, and raging wind uprooted forests and annihilated them with extreme temperatures. Charging straight in, Belial radiated terrifying heat waves, mercilessly burning and crushing Biollante's surface.

The toxic swamp looked as if a massive bomb had been dropped. The mountain-sized body was blasted open by searing white light, flinging enormous chunks of flesh outward. Against large targets with weaker defenses, internal radiation was extremely effective.

Biollante screamed while desperately controlling thicker, regenerating tentacles and spewing corrosive toxins. Rotten organs extended outward, trying to bind the black Great Dragon. Blood-red flowers bloomed on its surface, releasing pollen pods that converged on Belial, capable of absorption, suppression, and replication.

It was useless. Another burst of internal radiation burned everything approaching him. Belial decisively unleashed Corona Beam. Orange-red, blazing light gathered into violent lightning and burst out, sweeping horizontally and erasing the ecological forest beyond the mountains from the surface.

Everything corrupted was sublimated by pure heat, with temperatures nearing a million degrees. Then he tilted his head, directing the beam into the torn section of the mountain-like body and flooding its organs. Even its regeneration could not stop the explosive energy, leaving only charred silence.

A deafening explosion followed as the lower section of its body was burned from within and detonated, secondary damage from orange-red currents spreading outward. In the hidden space, a dragonman cursed as stray energy nearly tore it into Shard.

The clash of domains was not balanced at all. It was hammer versus egg, with Biollante's domain utterly crushed. Worse, the revived god was wasting its power, even injuring itself with its own attacks, completely lacking proper use of rules or Authority.

Elsewhere, Elfido commented that if this continued, the gods might as well invest in him instead. He then fell silent as black smoke rose around him, saying the gods would not abandon such a manageable monster before the other was defeated.

Meanwhile, Belial unleashed another strike, magnetic force and raging energy wrapped around his fist, smashing into another section of the body. The force poured inside, causing the body to explode segment by segment like firecrackers, disintegrated at the microscopic level by Rend.

Only the upper torso remained. Belial noticed a half-spherical golden object wrapped in roots within its abdomen, something that did not belong to its body. He dismissed the thought, deciding to kill it first.
