Chapter 141 - Seed Stage Ascension

The functions of World Tree included reshaping ecology and stabilizing Laws. Looking at the ugly blood-red Rift outside, Luna felt instinctively that while she could not shut it down completely, interference was possible.

As long as the link was cut for even an instant, she believed her kind could seize the chance to defeat the monster completely. Cutting the roots required direct power, which was why she needed such an enormous amount of Magic. Now, everything was ready.

She instinctively took out the short bow on her back and prepared to draw an arrow, but after a brief pause, she put it back. She shook her head gently.

"Arrows are not enough."

Recalling how weak the arrows had been before, she knew she had to change methods. In truth, the choice was already clear. Since she was still small, she would learn how the adults did it.

She would learn from that powerful third of her kind, and learn how he did it. At the seed stage, Luna could borrow the power of various creatures within the Barrier and briefly manifest their traits, which was one function of World Tree's ecological diversification.

As for the second stage, even Grand Elder did not know what it should look like. After all, who had ever seen a World Tree fight before? He watched in surprise as electricity surged from Luna's body.

"Electricity? Lightning? Why this?"

He felt that the manifestation of a World Tree should not be limited to something as narrow as lightning. Luna muttered to herself.

"How did he do it? Magnetic fields? No, for now it can only be electric current."

"That's it!"

Behind Luna, phantoms of lions, tigers, wolves, bears, eagles, fish, and oxen erupted, along with countless other divine creatures. Even a Great Dragon appeared, before everything collapsed back into her small body.

Animal abilities were far from enough. Realizing this, the Authority from World Tree was triggered, and the power of the next stage manifested.

The power did not flow outward, but condensed within her body and even within her cells. Those cells became unprecedentedly active, rubbing against each other at high speed.

Then the power was born.

"Electric current propulsion. One hundred billion volts!"

"Charged Blade!"

With a small shout, a thunderous blade of lightning that reached heaven and earth flashed in an instant. All the roots connected to the Barrier were severed at once.

At the same time, the Rift linking to Biollante's body outside flickered and blurred, as if bugged. In that instant, the massive body nearly disintegrated under Rend and became extremely sluggish.

Under Belial's assault, Biollante was left with only its final head. Having suddenly lost its power supply, its regeneration slowed to a crawl.

"Hm? Something seems off. Looks like something went wrong with you."

Belial frowned, then broke into a grin and pushed his power even further.

"Magnetic field rotation. Reverse gravity realm power!"

"Space demolition punch!"

With an unwilling roar, Biollante's final struggle was completely erased under the continuous blows. The remaining head was crushed into Shard without any resistance.

The entire upper body vanished, revealing the lower portion, a Elven Barrier wrapped in a semi-circular golden sphere.

"Wait, so it was a separate sphere? That's weird."

"Wait, what is this thing?"

In a distant space, the dragonman and the old man calmly watched Biollante vanish under the final punch. Both frowned slightly.

"It not only went far down the demigod path, but even its sanctuary-level domain was this strong."

"That seems to be the case. Even if that god has not fully revived, its domain still surpasses anything a mortal could reach."

"It looks like World Tree has truly awakened too. This is getting troublesome. The Rift is still open. What do we do about that?"

The dragonman pointed toward Belial, who was curiously looking around outside. Elfido closed his eyes, black mist spreading, then opened them again.

After receiving the divine message, his expression turned unexpectedly serious. The dragonman grew curious.

"What did the gods say this time?"

Elfido glanced deeply at the Black Dragon beyond the space, his expression strange, before speaking.

"You know this already. Even if either of us went all out, we probably would not be a match for him. The mission we were sent for is hard to accomplish, and the gods think so too."

"So they came up with a good solution."

"Don't tell me."

The dragonman widened his eyes slightly. Elfido replied with a meaningful tone.

"The invested power cannot be wasted."

"If you cannot beat it, then you can join it."

"Boom!!!"

Another Spiral Heat Ray fired. The highly penetrating Heat Ray easily drilled deep underground before detonating, causing the surface to collapse. Some hidden roots that had not fully died were wiped out in the process, yet Belial still did not feel at ease and swept the area several more times with internal radiation, making sure even the last bud was completely destroyed.

Plant-type enemies were always like this. They were hard to kill, and only after nothing could be detected at all did he finally relax.

"This thing was really weak. I thought it would be stronger, but in the end it only had a lot of health, and its damage output was nowhere near enough." "It was just big. Its actual combat ability was laughable."

After finishing his usual sharp comments, Belial, who had relied on three stacked templates and absurdly thick armor to tank everything and came out completely unharmed, spat on the ground and stomped a few times. The opponent had only been useful as a target, but at least it let Belial get a rough sense of his current strength.

After fusing for such a short time, his normal combat power was already close to Overclock Mode, and that was far from his limit. There was only a small issue left with his two skill sets, since the abilities of the God of Destruction could be combined into the Space skill group and used together, as they were all Heat Ray types anyway.

However, Charged Particle Cannon was different. Planets and most other Godzilla were not the same, since most of them used High-Temperature Heat Ray, while this one used Electromagnetic Cannon. Because of that, Belial felt he might try merging the two skill lists and taking the strengths of both later.

After cleaning up the trash on the battlefield, his gaze shifted to something else.

Suspended in midair was a blood-red, eerie Rift that looked like it did not belong to this world at all. If Belial was not mistaken, that thing had been a major reason the enemy had struggled on for so long.

During the battle, Biollante had deliberately protected this area and kept twisting its body to move it around, but after Belial took a closer look, he frowned.

"Hm. I thought it was some kind of treasure, but in the end it is just a useless Rift. What a letdown."

Lilith had shown him this kind of Rift before, so he could roughly tell what it was and felt disappointed. In his understanding, these were just things like spatial Rift, which were fairly common.

Even though he knew it could not be that simple, he was not stupid enough to stick his head in to check. Who knew where it connected to inside.

Next, he checked other things.

This fight was not a total loss. When his the Lord-driven Ecological Corrosion activated earlier, it not only destroyed the enemy's core, but also let him happily loot a large amount of energy.

After breaking down and digesting the remaining parts, he would gain even more. From some of the opponent's traits, Belial could tell it had probably overeaten before, so now a lot of that excess benefited him instead.

"It feels like part of its power went somewhere else. Probably leaked away. Whatever, as long as I eat my fill this time, I will get stronger again." "When I go back and report this, I can come here to sleep again. Ha…"

He temporarily ignored that thing, or planned to throw it to Lilith for research later. Then Belial turned his gaze to a large golden ball of light nearby, only now realizing how big it was. Just the exposed corner was larger than his own body.

He could not see anything inside, but there was a clear Rend opening on its surface.

"So, what exactly is this thing supposed to be?"

"Really did it… Luna, you are amazing."

Seeing that single strike actually cut off the monster's erosion of the Barrier, Grand Elder was first shocked, then deeply impressed. Was this just a fragment of the World Tree's Authority?

"Huff… ha… ugh, I feel dizzy, and my whole body is sore."

The battle markings on her forehead, or rather the Holy Tree patterns, gradually faded back into a triangular bud shape. Having endured such an enormous amount of Magic and only just advanced to the next stage, Luna was not seriously hurt, but she was clearly exhausted.

"Grandpa Grand Elder… is that monster gone? Does that mean it is safe now?" She still cared about her original goal.

"Yes, it is gone. We succeeded… but now there is another matter." "Luna, the third of your kind you mentioned, the other World Tree, has arrived."

As Grand Elder said this, a heavy look returned to his face. It was not just the presence coming from outside, but also the trembling of the ground, like an ominous sign in advance.
