[3rd POV - Raven]
Raven was greeted by an...interesting sight, as she walked downstairs and into the bookstore that had yet to be opened.
The sight of Naruto and Milim on their knees, giving Amity the biggest puppy eyes she had ever seen in her life. And that was saying a lot, because those two did the puppy eyes on Wanda all the time.
It never worked, but they certainly tried. She would be doing her best to make sure they never knew that it would almost certainly work on her. She didn't have the same resistance to their adorableness as Wanda did.
Her girlfriend was built different.
"What are you two doing?" Raven asked, as she walked into the room. The two of them jumped slightly at the words of their second mother. The two glanced between a deadpanning Amity and a deadpanning Raven.
"Whoa, you two make the same faces!" Naruto exclaimed, pointing between the two, realizing that they were indeed making a very similar face.
Their deadpans deepened into borderline scowls.
"Naruto" Raven said simply, a stern look in her eyes as she stared at the two of them. Milim glanced away from the stern look, while Naruto struggled to look away before turning to Amity and grumbling.
"We were begging Amity to come with us to Gotham" Naruto said in a defeated tone, looking down as Raven raised an eyebrow.
"And did she say no?" Raven asked.
"I haven't responded yet. They kept cutting me off" Amity said with an annoyed glint in her eyes, giving the two a glare as they flinched back. Amity was kind of scary, even if she was weaker than them by a long shot.
"And what was your response going to be?" Raven asked Amity, looking at the girl who sighed.
"Well I was going to ask what "Gotham" is. Since I have no clue what they are talking about, beyond the fact that it is a city from the universe that M-Wanda is from" Amity responded, stumbling over Wanda's name for a moment, something that Raven instantly noticed.
She inwardly smiled.
'Seems Wanda was right, she will be having another child soon' Raven thought, knowing how good Wanda is at getting close to others. She made it hard not to love her, and she was so loving and warm, especially to her children.
It was like she was impossible to truly dislike. At least, it was impossible for anyone that is not a piece of shit monster or something. Like that Captain Atom worm or someone similar.
"Well, Gotham is indeed a city from the universe that Wanda is from. It's also the city that I lived in before we had met" Raven began, as she moved over and brought two chairs, one for her to sit in, and one for Amity.
"Is it nice?" Amity asked, interested. She was still contemplating whether or not she wanted to go, and she wanted to know more about the place before she accepted or not. She did not want to go only to get attacked or something.
"...I would be lying if I said yes. There are very few areas in Gotham that are truly nice, and those are the areas that we tend to trend towards. The city beyond those areas, is...well, not very nice. There are all sorts of criminals and villains spread out across the large city. The villains and criminals are evil and not very nice people. But, if you truly wish to go with us, then you will be protected" Raven explained, as the girl listened in.
"Yeah! Mom is super strong. And we are too!" Milim said with a grin, as she flexed her arm showing the...well, frankly nonexistent muscle. While Raven just smiled awkwardly.
"I am. There is not a single villain in the city of Gotham that can compare to me or Naruto and Milim here. And should anything happen, you would instantly be transported back here for your own safety. So you do not need to worry about anything, Amity. It will be completely safe" Raven continued to explain.
"Plus we aren't just going to go to Gotham! We also plan on visiting Metropolis!" Naruto exclaimed with his bright grin still on his face, which couldn't help but make Amity smile slightly. The boy's smile was contagious as hell.
"Metropolis is a far nicer city, and is a sort of sister city to Gotham. It is far safer, and has all sorts of interesting places to visit. But it is also..."
"Boring!" Milim finished for her.
"Yes, it tends to be rather boring. There is stuff to do there, but it is mostly directed towards the upper class people of the city, and is quite...uptight in nature" Raven explained.
"The only reason we're going there is because we're gonna prank someone! And we want you to join!" Naruto said with Milim grinning next to him.
Amity, hearing the mention of a prank, couldn't help but look at him in interest.
"What sort of prank?" Amity asked, staring at the boy who blinked at the question, not expecting her of all people to ask it. He glanced around a bit, before looking back at Amity and grinning.
"We're gonna prank Lex Luthor!"
"Who?" Amity asked, having no idea who the hell that was. Both the kids' faces faulted at her words, while Raven chuckled and spoke up.
"Lex Luthor. He's a billionaire from Metropolis, and a regular at the shop. Naruto and Milim want to prank him since they have pranked the heroes plenty of times, but never someone like Lex Luthor" Raven responded.
"Billion?" Amity asked another question, having never heard the term "Billion" it didn't exist in the Boiling Isles, because nothing got that high in number...ever. There wasn't a single thing that got to a billion, except for tiny things that they cared little about.
"A thousand millions" Raven dumbed it down, understanding that Amity didn't know the term, so she had to make it a bit easier for her to understand. Which made sense considering what sort of place she lived in.
"...And he has that much money? T-That's insane! There's not a single person on the boiling isles who has more than a couple million!" Amity exclaimed, her eyes wide in shock.
That much money was more than the net worth of...well, probably the entirety of the Boiling Isles.
"No, he has around a hundred times that amount. Last I checked he was worth around one hundred and twenty billion, making him one of the richest men in the entire world. I think there's only one or two people richer than him" Raven responded after a few moments of thought.
She didn't really know, as she did not track the wealth of someone like Lex Luthor or other billionaires, as she frankly could care less about that sort of thing. Wanda probably knew a lot more, but she wasn't gonna bug her over something so stupid.
Amity just stared at her, her jaw dropped.
"If you think that's crazy, you should know that Earth has over 7 billion people living on it!" Naruto said from the side, watching Amity's jaw drop even more. The total population of the boiling isles was around 600,000 people. And Earth had more than that in single cities.
That was insane.
And she didn't even know about the population account of single cities.
"Naruto, stop shocking the poor girl. She's going to faint from all this new information" Raven warned, as Naruto stilled and nodded from her look. His mama was scary, but his mom was also scary.
They were both terrifying (although he wasn't afraid to admit that his mama was definitely scarier).
"Now, do you want to go with us into the city Amity? You don't have to if you don't want to. But it would be nice if you could come along with us. I plan on going to a local cafe that Wanda introduced me to, and then doing some shopping and maybe seeing a local movie before we go to Metropolis" Raven asked the girl, as Amity locked eyes with her in thought.
Amity had never been invited out to do...anything. Not like this at least. As the other "Invitations" she had gotten, were a lot more forceful in nature, and she did not have the option of denying like she did in this case.
But Amity found that she did not want to deny, as she kept silent, before looking up and back into Raven's eyes, before speaking.
"I'll go with you"
Hearing her response, Naruto and Milim cheered in excitement, while Raven smiled softly, and said only one thing.
"Great...lets head into Gotham then"
And with that, they soon left, leaving the bookstore empty once more.
