[3rd POV]
The trio had stayed in Gotham for another hour, with the kids insisting on showing Amity around a bit more. They wanted to show her to the local parks, zoo, and a few other places that they thought could be cool to show off to Amity. The girl did find some of them to be interesting, but she had enjoyed buying the electrical and chemistry equipment more than anything.
Once again, Naruto and Milim thought that she was weird. But at the very least it was weird but not in a bad way. She just liked things that were a bit...interesting. Different from what was normal in Milim and Naruto's eyes. But they were also pretty strange with what they liked to do every day.
After finishing their time in Gotham, the trio had decided to head off to Metropolis. Metropolis was a lot more interesting in Amity's eyes. Not only was it far safer than Gotham, and not nearly as scary to be in. It was also nicer and had tons of stores that caught her eye.
It was basically the technological capital of the world, if not the world, the United States. It was huge, and it had dozens of stores that Amity had been interested in the second that she had seen them. Since there were tons of tech stores throughout the place.
But before they decided to go there to explore them, Naruto decided it was time to prank Lex Luthor. Which they were doing right now, as they stood in the office of Lex Luthor. The office was empty at the moment, nobody was inside besides them.
From what Raven had found, Lex Luthor was out doing a meeting with some other company or something. Probably something involving the Light or something of the sort. She didn't really know, nor did she particularly care.
She was more focused on watching Naruto as he began to work with Milim to prank Lex Luthor. While Amity was standing next to her, very lost on what was happening, and why Naruto and Milim were even doing this.
"What is the point of doing this?" Amity asked Raven, as she glanced up at her. She really didn't see the point in a prank. Like what was enjoyable about pranking others? She thought it was pointless. A waste of time.
"Enjoyment" Raven responded, watching as Naruto placed an invisible and sticking whoopee cushion to Lex Luthor's chair. It had a sticking charm on it, so it would take quite a lot of effort in order to get rid of the cushion.
And he had placed more than just that. He placed one of them on every single chair in the office. All of them had sticking charms on them, and every single one of them would instantly reinflate, so that they wouldn't have to manually pump air back into the cushion or anything.
On top of the whoopee cushions, Milim was placing several "squeaky" charms onto the ground, where every step in the office made it sound like a squeaky boot walking. And once again, it would take a hell of a lot of effort in order to get rid of the charms.
There was also the inversion that they placed on the mouse and keyboard. So whatever he did with them, it'd do the opposite. Which would make using the computer a pain in the ass.
Naruto and Milim thought that was fun.
On top of that, they added another prank in. So that when he sat down in his chair, a burst of power would flicker from above him. And then that energy would flood his head, and grow him a full head of ginger hair. An afro at that.
They were tempted to do more, but they decided against it. Well, before Naruto added another part that would make it so that his clothes would turn bright pink once he sat down on top of that. Making him look even more goofy.
All of the pranks layered on top of one another were pretty harmless, and were just for good fun. None of them would be that much of a problem for him to get rid of, it would just be more time consuming than anything. Nothing too serious.
Lex would probably find it more amusing than anything. As while he does not really know anything about Milim and Naruto, he knew that they existed, and he knew a small bit about what they could realistically do.
That and they weren't really hiding that they were there.
"Enjoyment? That's...kind of weird. That they find it fun to prank others. I don't really see the appeal" Amity replied to Raven, who hummed.
"I do not either. But they find their own form of enjoyment in it, so, there's no reason not to let them go through with it. As long as it does not harm others, I see no problem with them pranking others. Just like you enjoy working with electrical equipment and are so fascinated with abomination magic, which they find weird" Raven said, agreeing that it was a little weird, but they enjoyed it, so who was she to look down on them for it?
"Won't the guy that they are pranking be mad about this?" Amity asked.
"Doubtful. The man that they are pranking is known as Lex Luthor. He has full knowledge on what the bookstore is, and he is a regular customer of Wanda's. So he won't retaliate or anything like you might think. Most he'll do is talk to Wanda about it, and ask about who did it" Raven replied with a shake of her head. She didn't see Lex Luthor as the type to get mad over something so meaningless.
"How many people in this world actually know about the bookstore?" Amity asked, curious.
"In this world? A few dozen at most. There are the normal customers who do not know anything about the truth of the place of course, and are just normal humans that go shopping for normal books. You know, the old ladies that do the book club and others similar" Raven replied after a few moments to contemplation.
"I'm surprised the store is not more popular" Amity couldn't help but mutter in surprise.
"It's not more popular because Wanda makes sure that information about it does not spread too far. She does not want to have tens of thousands of people lining up outside trying to buy books that can only be found inside of the store. It would be annoying if there are too many people in the store. It'd take away from its charm" Raven explained. Amity nodded slowly in understanding, as it did make sense.
The store would be packed with people if the full extent of the knowledge that it sold was ever truly explained and shown off.
"I guess that makes sense. But how come we don't get visits from people like the Justice League that often?" Amity asked. Raven looked at her, before a face of realization took hold, as she realized that Amity didn't know about the rather tense past with the League and what they had done.
"Ah....we have a bit of a past with them. The man known as Captain Atom had decided to attack Naruto, when the League had chased a villain into the store. This had ended with Wanda brutally cursing the man, and forcing the League to apologize. Ever since then, the League steers very clear of the shop. With only Doctor Fate, Zatara and Constantine being regulars" Raven explained to the girl, who nodded slowly.
"So they are the only smart ones then" Amity replied bluntly, as Raven chuckled and nodded.
"They are. The rest are too scared or ignorant to come anywhere near the store. So we don't really pay attention to them, nor do we worry about them" Raven responded.
"And what about villains? Surely the heroes aren't happy that villains come and go from the shop so often" Amity asked another question.
"They aren't fond of it, but the bookstore is a neutral place. There are very few types of entities that are not permitted inside, and those are the worst of the worst. Rapists, pedophiles, abusers, stuff like that. A villain like Lex Luthor would not be blocked from entering. And the heroes know that should they try anything stupid, they'd also get cursed rather brutally" Raven explained once again.
With her questions answered, Amity looked back over at Naruto and Milim. One thought on her mind as she watched them continue to booby trap the room.
