Before the rest of the group could aim and fire, Claude launched at them. He wrecked everything on him as he took his massive wolf form. He might be smaller than Len, but he was still a fearsome Alpha wolf.
The black dog showed up from the scraps of fabric. Montgomery lunged to the side and fired a direct shot at Claude. His men also let their automatic rifles rip through the black dog. Slugs and shells rained horizontally and vertically, easily covering the space with dust from the broken debris. Even with their specialized goggles, they could only watch the wolf-shaped heat signature fall to the ground.
"Is it dead?" One operative asked when the group stopped firing. He even glanced at Montgomery, who was kneeling on the floor and loading another big dart into his double-barreled elephant rifle.
"Confirm the kill." Montgomery would celebrate with a grin, but he saw how the wolf shape lunged forward again. He even forgot how to move when Claude grabbed one of them.
