Jasmine leaned in so close I could feel her little arms brushing against mine, and Hanith kept bouncing in place, too excited to sit still. Every time the fox did something funny, they shrieked, "Again! Again!" and I happily went along, tiptoeing, flapping, crunching, and even making the wolf growl a little, careful not to be too scary.
By the time we got to the last pages, both of them were leaning against me, eyes wide and sparkling. Jasmine whispered, "Dad… is this the end? Is Red done with the adventure?"
I nodded, closing the book slowly, keeping it in my lap. "Yes, Red made it through the forest, protected his friends, found the berries, and learned how brave he could be. That's the end of his adventure."
Hanith pouted a little, "Aww… I wanted Red to keep going!"
Jasmine nodded vigorously. "Me too! I want him to have more adventures!"
