~Aaron's POV
I led her out quietly, away from the room, away from the noise and the small distractions, until we got to the hospital cafeteria. It wasn't anything special, just a few tables, soft lighting, that faint smell of food that never really leaves a place like this… but at least it was calm.
She sat down across from me, and for a second, she just looked tired. Not the kind of tired sleep fixes. The other kind.
I didn't say anything about it. I just walked up, ordered some food, and came back with a tray. I set it in front of her and nodded toward it. "Eat," I said simply.
She looked at the food, then at me, and I could see it… that small, knowing smile. "You noticed?" she asked.
I shrugged lightly. "You haven't been eating well."
She didn't argue. She just smiled again, softer this time. "Thank you," she said, and then she picked up the spoon and started eating.
