~Katherine's POV
We didn't leave the park immediately.
I thought we would, after the claw machine and the small walk, but somehow we just… stayed. Like neither of us was in a hurry to go back yet.
"There's more," Aaron said after a while, nodding toward another section of the park.
I followed his gaze and saw a few more game stands. Ring toss, a small basketball shooting game, even one where you had to knock down stacked cans with a ball.
I laughed softly. "You really want to win something today, don't you?"
He glanced at me. "I already won."
I frowned slightly. "When?"
He looked straight ahead, a small smile on his face. "When you said yes to coming out."
I didn't respond immediately. I just looked away, but I could feel that small, unexpected warmth again, the one I didn't know what to do with.
"Come on," he added, gently nudging my arm. "Let's see if you can beat me again."
We started with the ring toss.
