The four of us walked through the bustling carnival, the air heavy with the sweet scent of cotton candy and popcorn, and the distant squeals of children on rides mixing with the occasional call of a vendor. The twins' excitement was palpable; Jasmine skipped ahead slightly, tugging at my hand. "Mom, look! That one! The spinning teacups!" she shouted, her voice full of glee. Hanith was right behind her, pointing at the same ride, practically vibrating with anticipation.
Aaron laughed, shaking his head as he looked at me. "I think this one's calling your name, Katherine," he said, gesturing toward the spinning teacups. "And mine too, apparently."
I rolled my eyes, but I couldn't hide the small smile tugging at my lips. "Alright, alright. Let's all go together," I said. "But promise me, no throwing tea at each other this time."
