By the time we stepped out of the photo booth, the twins were still holding onto the pictures like little treasures, talking over each other as we slowly made our way toward the exit.
"Mom, did you see the one where Dad looked funny?" Jasmine asked, her voice full of excitement and the remnants of laughter from the photo booth.
"And the one where you laughed," Hanith added quickly, barely pausing for breath. "You were not serious at all."
"I was serious," I replied, though even as I said it, I knew the truth; I had been laughing just as hard as they had.
Aaron chuckled beside me, his eyes glinting with amusement. "You were not," he said softly, shaking his head.
I gave him a look, a mixture of mock irritation and fondness, but I didn't argue further because I knew the moment didn't need words.
