Then, without saying anything, Aaron moved closer to me gently.
I frowned slightly. "What are you doing?"
He turned toward me slowly, his eyes settling on mine in a way that made my breath catch without warning. There was no teasing in his expression this time, no lightness, just something steady and quiet.
For a moment, neither of us spoke.
And then… he leaned in.
It wasn't rushed, and it wasn't sudden either. It felt like something that had been building all day in the small glances, the quiet moments, the laughter, and the silence we kept falling into without meaning to.
My heart started beating faster, my body going still as I realized what was happening, as I felt the distance between us disappear.
I didn't pull away.
