I slammed myself against the wall of the holding cell again, screaming until my throat burned, and it echoed off the cold concrete around me. The officers had already warned me twice, telling me to calm down, but I couldn't. I couldn't calm down. Everything I had worked for, everything I had planned so carefully, had failed. Aaron, Katherine, and those kids had won. My plans, my schemes, they were all gone. I sank to the floor, hugging my knees, and my chest heaved as I cried.
